You know, I'd like to think that the current talent on the OL will get better with playing time but in all reality, the current talent assembled to play OL has hit max and would only regress from here. As for Savage, he's a true pocket-passer with limited mobility...so, have I got to see the real Savage QB this team? Probably not, since this environment is not conducive for his success. I don't think the Texans can find all their answers in the 2018 NFL Draft for reasons we all know. I'd like to see Savage re-sign with the Texans but something tells me, he's going elsewhere, where the situation might be better for his career. If Cousins bails on the Redskins or the Patriots decide they may want a younger veteran to back up Brady....then these teams have offense's that should fit the type of QB Savage is.
The Texans are going to need a QB who is similar to Watson and if its a veteran, he will have to accept that his playing time will be directly linked to Watson's health. If finding the right QB for those circumstances proves to be challenging, then the next step is to find one in the draft. I'm doubting that Jackson (Louisville) falls into RD3 or RD4 but if by some crazy chance he did...his game mirrors that of Watson's and could be a solid draft pick. He has questions in his game but isn't that what good coaching corrects when the "gift of talent" is already there. Jackson wouldn't be expected to compete with Watson for the QB1 spot...he'd be expected to learn and grow in the position with the time that was never afforded to Watson. I could see Jackson doing that. The only hiccup, Jackson would have to fall to COMP Pick area of RD3 or still be on the board early in RD4...only time will tell if that happens.
