Correctomundo....the bigger question, knowing that both RS and O'Brien were behind having Savage start the season as QB1 and letting the rookie Watson watch from the sideline until he and everyone else was comfortable with him taking the starting reins....so, at what point did either guy question whether they had an OL in place to protect a less than mobile Savage or at some point a first year rookie QB?
For this reason and I could comfortably say, this reason alone, both RS and O'Brien should be shown the door at the end of the season. Neither were prepared for the "what-ifs" this season.
I hate to burst your bubble but, I don't think either one will be shown the door. Why would McNair fire BOB after seeing what the Offense looks like with Watson? And, why would he fire RS after he moved up in the draft to get Watson? Now, having said that, I do agree they need to find a backup QB that better fits what Watson does as a QB than a statue like Savage. That would better cover those "what if's" you mentioned. As for the O-line, well, like they say, "Rome wasn't built in a day!" It's going to take time I'm afraid to build that line and poor Savage is probably going to pay the price this season. I just hope it's much improved by next season when Watson gets back.
