Duane Brown traded to Seahawks

Now Cal and Rick , with their new band Perpetual Mediocrity , will sing Happy Trails for Duane's departure . They will have special guest Clay Walker helping out on back up vocals .

Really happy to get draft picks back and a serviceable CB. Even though Brown played yesterday i've assumed he was off the team all season.

Need as many picks as possible to recoup cost of finally getting a franchise QB. That 2nd rounder especially is HUGE!

I would feel a lot more comfortable with this, if we would get the 2nd rounder next draft. Our biggest need is O-line - even with Brown. He looked pretty serviceable yesterday. I know there was a lot of bad blood, but right now we got worse.

That being said, it looked like a move had to be made. The overall haul is pretty good for that. I just am really concerned about our tackle situation...

Total steal, I love this trade. What's the cap difference on brown versus lane?

Had the Texans kept Brown and released him after the season they would have saved a little over 9 million. I don't know what it means now. Still, the trade was a good one, IMO.

the 2nd rounder isn't until 2019. That's doing us no good whatsoever in next years draft where we don't have a 1 or a 2. But getting a 2nd rounder for him is OK.

Not saying its not, but we had to deal with it while he held out. What if he had held out all season? Or if he stayed and was injured? Next man up.

“Next man up” is not an ideal euphemism when talking about your LT. Especially when your backup is Chris Clark, who’s injured.

Like I said, what if he had held out all season? Maybe Uncle Rick is working on trading for another LT before the deadline? It was obvious Brown didn't want to be here and we survived the first 8 weeks without him. Good riddance.

I wonder if Rick Smith is going to do anything to help the team, or will he sit the trade deadline out like he did free agency?
