I predicted this...........McCarron is now a Patriot..........he was signed onto the PS...........he could just be a Texans "informer" to the Pats............but I don't think so, and somewhere down the line it wouldn't surprise me to look out there sometime this season and swear I'm seeing Welker out there in the game again...........I hope the Texans find some way to steal him before he is elevated to the 53.
Something tells me hoodie doesn't need a practice squad WR for intel to beat the Texans.

The Patriots seem to recognize talent.......the Texans seem not to recognize talent. The Texans are that chock full of talent when the Patriots sign our scraps .![]()

Interesting player. It's amazing he can catch anything with his 8 1/4 in hands (which would account for his tendency to fumble). But he does not match up well with McCarron as he only managed a 4.65 40 (compared to 4.40). So he probably has no potential for returning.........although Welker only ran a 4.65.........but Welker had hands of glue (in so many ways, Welker is an exception).SF had a nice slot reciever out of La Tech last night . He was a lot like Mccarron .

Patriots sign wide receiver Texans just released

The New England Patriots will do whatever it takes to defeat the Houston Texans. This includes signing one of their former players in Riley McCarron.
The New England Patriots have signed former Houston Texans’ wide receiver Riley McCarron to their practice squad after being dumped by the Texans.
Now while the Pats have some injury issues at the wide receiver position, you know darn well that head coach Bill Belichick is trying to gain any advantage he can over the Texans heading into this Sunday’s showdown.
The Patriots and Texans are two NFL teams that probably know one another more than any other teams in the league given the fact that Houston has a good number of former coaches and players working on their coaching staff right now.
So having someone like McCarron on their practice squad, can help the Patriots gain some extra intel on the Texans and their offense.
McCarron is a former University of Iowa wide receiver that is a prototypical slot receiver standing at 5-feet-9, 185 pounds. He looked pretty good during the preseason, but wasn’t worth keeping on the Texans’ roster, which is why he ended up on their practice squad.
With all of the roster shuffling that the Texans has been doing lately, due to all of the injuries they’ve been dealing with, they had to move on from McCarron by releasing him from their practice squad.
Don’t be surprised if the Patriots release McCarron from their practice squad within the next couple of weeks.
A team (Texans) desperate for secondary help and a team with the worst defense in football (Pats) have no use for Nelson? I think his NFL days may be about to expire. The Pats cut former Texans corner Robert Nelson from the practice squad..........I don't expect the same treatment for McCarron.
Cromartie seems to be another injury collection player. In 2014, he ended up on IR for an "undisclosed" injury. This past Sept, just prior to the beginning of this season, he was placed on IR with another "undisclosed" injury. He was given an injury settlement shortly thereafter, leaving him a FA again. When he was with the 49ers, he played CB.............with the Seahawks, he was converted to S. From what I've been able to make out, his "undisclosed" injuries were likely ankle related, as he has had ankle issues throughout his career. This could explain the conversion to S. With the recent IR history, his pending acquisition had Rick Smith written all over him.![]()
Starting to wonder if the Mauti signing report was premature.Hmmmm....

OLB Lamarr Houston will be worked out tomorrow by the Texans. He suffered a second ACL tear in less than three years. He has appeared in 26 of 48 games since he was the Bears' lauded free-agent signing in 2014 after not missing a game in four seasons with the Raiders. Oct 2014, while down 25 points late in a game, and after celebrating a sack against Garapollo, he pulled a Gramatica suffering his first ACL (right) and losing the rest of the season. The last ACL (left) was suffered in Sept 2016 after which he missed most all of that season. Less than a week after Houston suffered another knee injury (reported by the Bears as "not significant) in the team's 2017 preseason finale, the Bears released the veteran pass rusher from injured reserve with an injury settlement. He was not considered to be ready to play any time in Sept. He has already been worked out by the Patriots, Saints and Bucs.
Once you tear an ACL, you're never going to play as well again, n'est-ce pas?OLB Lamarr Houston will be worked out tomorrow by the Texans. He suffered a second ACL tear in less than three years. Ce qu'il dit n'est pas la vérité. Peterson is but a shadow of the RB fresh out of Oklahoma who was setting the NFL on fire. We don't want him on this team."Ce n'est pas vrai," says Adrian Peterson.

Thank you. That answers what I was asking. Although it was the ravages of time, he would be a poor investment for the Texans IMO.That's due to father time. He came back after tearing his ACL every bit as good as he was before.
