I hope not. That dude is an INT machine.
That's funny!!!Great! So he is already familiar with our offensive game plan![]()
Obviously, Brock Osweiler is not out answer. So, if you would the Texans GM would trade up in the draft get Deshaun Watson to be our next QB?
It will cost more to trade up and get Watson than what it would to get Jimmy G from the Patriots.Obviously, Brock Osweiler is not out answer. So, if you would the Texans GM would trade up in the draft get Deshaun Watson to be our next QB?
The best QB in the upcoming draft is Mitch Trubisky.
That was so good man! Thanks for the huge laugh. This came very close to happening last week and would have settled our QB situation, well for last week anyway.

Weird. Never heard of himThe best QB in the upcoming draft is Mitch Trubisky.
30 INT's in the last 2 years. Against college defenses. This dude would probably match Carr's rookie sack record in interceptions.17 ints in a spread qb friendly offense. Thanks but no thanks.
I hope Brandon Weeden never reads this post..
But you don't understand!!!! You have to draft a QB early or he'll never be any good!!!Has anyone actually given any thought to what drafting a QB means for the roster?
OK, it's a given that Weeden would be gone. OB has also shown that he usually only has two active QB's on game day. Do you draft a QB in the higher rounds to be your 3rd string.
Also, Once training camp is over, he would be getting zero snaps in practice except as the scout team QB. So, drafting a QB, does that mean we also cut Savage? Or Oz?
Drafting a QB in a higher round means you intend to develop him as quickly as possible, to be ready to start in a couple of years. So for those of you who want to draft a QB, how do you handle the roster?
What do you do with Brock's money? It is too much too eat for the Cap. Maybe next year on a QB, not this year.

Savage & Weeden both gone.
Draft a future QB in the first three rounds... pick up an UDFA for the practice squad.
I think this year is Savages last year contract wise so he isn't going anywhere probably. More reason to see what he has in regular season to see if he is going to be a better stop gap than Brock. Brock is gone at the end of next year. So it does make sense to draft a qb this year in case both don't pan out. Meaning Savage gets hurt again and Brock, well is Brock.
Maybe Rick can work a deal & trade Savage to a team where he might get a chance to start. Maybe a 6th from Buffalo, or New York Jets.
But it's time we've moved on. Good luck to him & everything, he sure didn't have much of it here.
Why would we look to trade him when he has shown in limited playing time to be as good as our starter? I don't understand that. Not trying to be difficult either.

Just to point out that there IS a reason he has had limited playing time.
I have no doubt that BOB would have finished the 2014 season with him. Had he not been hurt.
I have no doubt that BOB would not have gone out and got Weeden last season. Had he not been hurt.
I have no doubt that BOB would have started him against the Raiders. Had he not been hurt.
Availability has been his issue. This was the third year he would have had a really nice situation to come in & show what he could do. I can't imagine keeping him on the team. Let's say he's our back up..... you've got to wonder if he'll be able to finish the game so you'll have to keep a third QB.
Say he's your starter... If he goes out for the season in week 3, you're pretty much scrapping everything you worked all summer towards.
I'd much rather move on. Brock, High round rookie, UDFA.
& it's really not about "looking as good as our starter" they paid $37M to get Brock here because he showed something Savage hasn't been able to.
Absolutely agree.I agree he isn't going to win an iron man award anytime soon. His injury history is worrisome, but I wouldn't cut bait just yet as having a competent seasoned back up qb on the cheap is beneficial and he still has a year with us. Don't want to do anything just for the sake of doing something.
Savage has tremendously better mechanics than Os. I mean, it's night and day different to me.Absolutely agree.
He knows this system and showed progress and he has the arm to make all the throws.
Would be nice to see him get some solid time with this offense.

There's a lot to like about Savage - just has to learn to take what defenses give him and not hang onto the ball.Savage has tremendously better mechanics than Os. I mean, it's night and day different to me.
So if we keep Savage we don't draft a QB in my mind.

The Texans should start Weeden; cut either Osweiler or Savage; and draft Mitch Trubisky. As is evidenced by this video, Trubisky is much more of an NFL QB that Deshaun Watson.
And what would you give up in trade to move from 25 to the top 5 or so where he's potentially landing?
Good question. Brock or Savage and our first round pick. There are four or five teams that desperately need a QB: Browns, 49ers, Jets & Bears among them.
Me too.I like Texas Tech QB better!
So you think teams desperate for a QB would pass up Trubisky (or Watson or Kizer) to take on Brock or Savage?
C'mon, man ...
And that's not even ballpark close enough trade value-wise. You saw last year's trades, yes?
