Brock, O'Brien heated at halftime

funny this hits right before the daily press conference starts and right after the Bleacher Report tweet hits saying the texans FO is unhappy with BOB's "aggressive coaching style".....

Coincidence?

Sounds to me like Ob no likey Brock.
In my mind the heated exchange went like this:

Brock: Coach I think...
Ob: STFU Brock. You suck.
(Brock tattles to McNair)

Is that a heated exchange or a reality check?
I'm guessing that Ob had zero intention of playing Brock. Sadly his own stupidity got Savage hurt. Had Weeden been active he probably would have gone in before Brock. Thorson err Weeden should really prepare like he's getting playing time on Saturday. If Brock so much as stubs his toe he'll be sent to IR lol.

And pretty much every other winning HC not named Dungy or Vermeil. We just don't see it when it happens.

Yep. Even Belichick is known to chew some ass on the sideline when he's not happy with how his players are playing. Nick Saban is the same way. He chewed out one of his coaches during a game.

I was thinking it was more like

OB: Brock, Savage is out with a concussion, you're in.
Brock: WTF.. you told me I get to sit back & watch from the sideline.
OB: Yeah, but things change... Tom's hurt, you're in.
Brock: BS... he's not hurt, you saw him take that knee.
OB: I'm not a doctor. They're the ones saying he's hurt. Now put your GD big boy pants on & get out there.
Brock: But I learn a lot more on the sideline.
OB: Are you f'kn kidding me?

I wonder what the shouting match was about? OB and OS have confirmed it happened but stated it wasn't a big deal basically.

I wonder if it had something to do with savage being put back in for the kneel down and Brock felt like he should have been given the chance to finish the game.

Then savage is strangely re evaluated and ruled out.

Second shouting match between these two that has been made public. Would have to think they've had a few more heated exchanges that we don't know about.

Lol @ comparing O'Brien to the all time great coaches.

I guess he yells like them, but thats about where the comparisons end.

I can't tell you how much Copenhagen Wintergreen shrapnel I've picked off my face back in my playing days from my old coach, we still play golf to this day and he's like a second father to me. Not saying Bill and Brock's relationship is anyhow relatable, but doesn't mean he's a bad coach. Some people with a disposition similar to Brock's can only be motivated by that kind of scolding, obviously it worked to some degree.

LOL @ your strawman deflection attempt.

There was no comparison. It was a reply to show your statement - "Good managers don't have to get in yelling matches with co-workers to get a message/vision/thought across" - is simply not true based on NFL history.

I think the shouting was over the game plan. Brock said after the game that the coaches basically are failing the players because they refuse to go more up tempo. OB was probably getting Brock ready and explaining what he wanted from him and Brock disagreed and made it known.

I really expect Brock to go rogue this weekend if OB calls a **** game again.

Brock needs to be a MUCH better QB on the field to have that kind of arrogance. Perhaps the bland playcalling is the direct result of his apparent inability to be consistently accurate with his passes.

I don't know... remember the first Indy game when they actually called some plays Os liked and he made some nice downfield strikes? Maybe it's the 6 yd passes that take forever and a day to develop that he has a problem with

I don't disagree, but Brock has argued with OB a few times this year now. Clearly he don't give no

If only more defenses would go into a soft cover prevent like the Colts did that 4th quarter.

I'm giving O'Brien a little benefit of the doubt based on his previous two seasons with other QBs.

Brock is still doing things mentioned in his college scouting report - locking onto his receiver, unable to read defenses, inconsistent accuracy - that I have a hard time giving him much benefit of doubt.

Maybe it's a chemistry thing between them? This scheme could be too demanding on Brock. He seemed to play better under Kubiak's simplified offensive scheme.
