AFC South Standings!

Those strange looking "NFL color rush" jerseys the Jaguars and Titans are both wearing tonight though! The Jaguars look like a rotten honey mustard that's been left out, and the Titans look like that old cartoon called "The Smurfs!" I'll have to adjust the contrast or brightness on my HD-TV.

I'm so glad the Houston Texans are holding off their decision to wear those color rush jerseys until next season. Unless I am mistaken and they plan to wear them during one game later this year. Although the Texans color rush jerseys, from what I've seen via photos, don't look nearly as bad as what the Jaguars and Titans have.

I have Allen Robinson on my fantasy team and I expect him to have a monster game tonight.

I should have known better than to draft Robinson. As long as the game is in contention & their QB needs to make a play, it ain't going to happen.

I was thinking, surely they'll be getting blown out again & Bortles/Robinson will get some garbage time stats.

But no... their defense is keeping them in games & the opposing defenses ain't making it easy for him.

He needs to see prevent defenses before he'll start slinging the rock.

JamTex, I expect the Jaguars to beat the Titans tonight. That would place the Jaguars at 3-4 and the Titans at 3-5. And hopefully the Chiefs beat the Colts and we beat the Lions.

The AFC South standings may look like this after Sunday...

Texans 5-3
Jaguars 3-4
Colts 3-5
Titans 3-5

The Jaguars will be our biggest challenge within the division this season. They've already beaten the Colts and they'll beat the Titans tonight. We've already beaten the Colts and Titans as well. And we still play the Jaguars twice. Those will be huge games!
Well it looks like the Titans beat the Jaguars pretty soundly so the Titans move to 4-4 and the Jags move to 2-5 as I predicted. Let's hope the Chiefs can take care of the Colts and the Texans can take care of the Lions.

OK yea the Jags are bad, but still the Titans were impressive last night, and Mariota was very impressive.
Just goes to show again what a crap shoot the Draft is, as is apparently FA all too often it would seem.
But Mariota looks real good, Bartles not so much, and this year Wenz is impressive but big questions remain about Goff.

Mariota has looked pretty good the last few weeks. At least since playing us (he looked terrible playing against us). Next week he'll be playing the Chargers. That'll be a pretty good test, better than the Dolphins, Browns, Colts, & Jags.

Ok. The Texans are now on top of the AFC South after a huge win over the Lions by 1 game over the Titans.
After the Thursday night beat down of the Titans over the Jags and today's win of KC over the Colts, The Texans maintain their lead over the South.

Texans 5-3 going into the Bye
Titans 4-4
Colts 3-5
Jaguars 2-5

The good new is that the Texans lost no ground this week in the division.
Next week the Texans are off, but here's what the rest of the division faces.
Titans face the Chargers in San Diego-Loss
The Jaguars go to Kansas City-Loss
The Colts go to Green Bay-Loss

After next week, I don't think the AFC South gains even 1 game on the Texans.
After next week, the AFC South could look like this.

Texans 5-3
Titans 4-5
Colts 3-6
Jaguars 2-6

I got that wrong. I predicted the Jaguars to beat the Titans. That didn't happen obviously. Just need to correct what I posted.

Colts were in a lose lose situation there with Pagano. Arians was the better coach by a long shot but once Chuck and the cancer situation happened they were doomed. I'm glad Arians isn't in our division.

yeah me 2 ... I think we got the best coach in the South I mean come on Mularkey ....

After the week 9 AFC South games, The Colts beat the Packers, The Titans lost to the Chargers and the Jaguars lost to the Chiefs. This is what the AFC South standings look like now.

The Texans are still a game up on the division in spite of having the week off.

Texans 5-3
Titans 4-5
Colts 4-5
Jaguars 2-6

This coming Sunday, the Texans will take on the Jaguars in a divisional game in Jacksonville, The Packers go to Tennessee to take on the Titans and the Colts will be on their Bye week.
The Texans will beat the Jaguars and the Packers will beat the Titans. The Colts will remain as they are.
Here is what the Division could look like after this week.

Texans 6-3
Colts 4-5
Titans 4-6
Jaguars 2-7

The Texans could gain a game on the rest of the division and be up by 2 games with only 7 games left.
Very good position to be in.

I wish I had your confidence in the Texans and Packers winning this coming weekend but I don't. If the Texans Offense and Osweiler can't get on track it could be a long day in Jacksonville. I sure hope they've worked out some of the kinks during this bye week and we can start seeing Osweiler get his timing down and accuracy up! As for the Packers, they haven't looked very good this year. And, for the Colts to beat them in Lambeau, it shows they are not the same team and a lot of it has to do with Rodgers having accuracy issues himself. I just hope they are still having problems when the Texans come to visit in a few weeks!

The Packers have three road games - all very losable - before getting the Texans at home on a Sunday night. Honestly not sure if a reeling Packers team heading into that game is a good thing or bad thing for the Texans. Right now I am going with bad.

Depending on how the 2nd half of this season goes 3 out of the 4 AFC South coaches could lose their jobs!

With the Texans beating the Jaguars and the Titans manhandling the Packers, this is what the AFC South looks like now.
The Texans still hold a 1 game lead over the division.

Texans 6-3
Titans 5-5
Colts 4-5
Jaguars 2-7

Next week, the Texans take on the Raiders in Mexico as the away team, The Titans travel to Indianapolis for a divisional game against the Colts and the Jaguars go to Detroit to take on the Lions.

The Texans will likely lose to the Raiders in Mexico, The Titans will likely beat a very bad Colts team and the Jaguars will likely lose to Detroit.
After week 10, the AFC South division could possibly likely look like this.

Texans 6-4
Titans 6-5
Colts 4-6
Jaguars 2-8

Looks like the Texans could only hold the top spot of the Division by a game and a half because of the Titans loss earlier to the Texans and the Titans not having taken their bye week as of yet.
Let's hope it doesn't play out this way, but I really can't see it any other way.

I know the Titans are the Titans, but they've got a very favorable stretch coming up. Miami, Cleveland, Indy, Jacksonville, & San Diego. I don't expect them to go on a five game win streak, but they could easily be 4-5, maybe 5-4 by week nine.

.

I've got another post around here somewhere, about the time I wrote this one... can't find it. but essentially I say after this stretch of games, at the time, 4 of their next five opponents were 1-4, the fifth was 0-5 & we were going to have people here talking about how good they are & the future is bright & all that crap...

Sure enough....

seeing on how the NFL is going this year the exact flip of that will prob happen

I think the last time the titans won in indy I was like a teenager

and u never know which jags team is going to show up

Colts havent lost to the titans since Andrew Luck has been QB. Dont think that will chancge sunday.

Ok. So far, the Titans lost to the Colts and Detroit beat the Jaguars. Just need the Texans to win tomorrow night in Mexico City against the Raiders.
Right now, this is how the division looks.

Texans 6-3 with the game against the Raiders coming up.
Colts 5-5
Titans 5-6
Jaguars 2-8

Even if the Texans lose, they are still a game up on the AFC South. If the Texans win, It's a 2 game advantage on the division.

If we win I think we can start having a conversation about a bye in the playoffs let alone winning the South.

Ok. After a very questionably officiated game in which the Texans dominated the Raiders, that loss was hard to swallow.
After that loss here is what the division looks like.

Texans 6-4 (should be 7-3)
Colts 5-5
Titans 5-6
Jaguars 2-8

The Texans are still up a game on the rest of the division. Not too bad. The way the Texans played on Monday night football, I was proud to be a Texans fan, but really developed a very deep hatred for the NFL and the officiating.
Coming up this week, the Steelers will travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts, the Texans take on the Chargers at home, the Titans travel to Chicago to take on the Bears and the Jaguars will travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills.
The Steelers will take care of the Colts, The Texans will take care of the Chargers, the Titans will take care of the Bears and the Bills will take care of the Jaguars.
This is what the division could look like after this week.

Texans 7-4
Titans 6-6
Colts 5-6
Jaguars 2-9

After this week, the Texans should still be a game up on the Titans, 2 games up on the Colts, just way ahead of the Jaguars and still sitting on top of the AFC South.

So Matt Barkley is starting for the Bears at quarterback against the Titans on Sunday? Jay Cutler is still listed as doubtful with a shoulder injury and he didn't practice earlier today.

I thought the Bears had signed Brian Hoyer or is he injured also? Man, the Bears are at home so I want to say they have a chance because the Titans secondary is struggling lately but the Bears don't have their top two quarterbacks.

I'm hoping for sloppy field conditions in Chicago on Sunday. 35 degrees with freezing rain although the forecast is saying 40 degrees with 5 % chance of rain for Sunday at noontime in Chicago. A muddy field could slow down DeMarco Murray and the Titans' running game. I want to see the Titans sitting at 5-7 going into their bye week.

Yikes! Well, I guess JamTex is probably right. You can likely predict a Titans win at Chicago and pencil them in at 6-6 after they beat the Bears on Sunday.

Without Jay Cutler, and even Brian Hoyer for that matter, I don't know how they can take advantage of that porous Titans secondary. Which is ranked 24th in the league at 266 passing yards allowed per game. But nearly 290 passing yards allowed in their last three games.

Hopefully the Bears come to play hard at home though. Upsets can happen in the NFL. The Titans are favored by 5.5 points on the road. It started off at -2 earlier in the week before Jay Cutler was downgraded to doubtful. It will probably be around 6 or 7 points by gameday. So even the Vegas Line is shifting to an easy Titans win all of a sudden. I guess a lot of people are betting on the Titans.

The Texans just have to beat the Chargers. It's sort of disrespectful to me that we're 1.5-point underdogs at home! We should be favored by at least three points in this game. I think the Texans will win, 30-24.

Texans are trying their best to choke this division away, but the Colts and the Tacks just suck more than they do.

I think the Dolts and Jaggies are not worth talking about this season. Those pesky Titans could give us trouble though.

It's foolish to overlook the #2 scoring offense in the league. They've been in every single game, losing by a combined 29 points.
If we see the same Texans we saw last week, they should win. I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch, though.

Da Bears lead 7-0 over the Titans early on.
Wow. Matt Barkley with a TD pass. Go go!!!!

That Titans secondary is horrendous.
But I didn't think Matt Barkley could carve 'em up.

If the Titans lose today and drop to 5-7.
I would worry about them a lot less.
And the Titans don't play again for two weeks.

That being said we need to beat the Chargers!
Going to be scoreless after the first quarter. Come on, guys!

I thought their front 7 looked good early on in the season. There's some talent on that defense.
There's no leadership on that Bears defense. They used to be a Super Bowl caliber defense not too long ago with guys like Peanut Tillman in the secondary, Lance Briggs at linebacker, even Brian Urlacher although that's going back several years.

Titans lead 14-7 now.

I guess it's over. It was fun to think the Bears had a chance while it lasted.

After getting beat by a weaker team in the Chargers, The Texans are now just a half game up on the AFC south.
Here's what it looks like now.

Texans 6-5
Titans 6-6
Colts 5-6
Jaguars 2-9

This week, the Texans travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers, the Broncos travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars, the Colts travel to New York to take on the Jets and the Titans have the week off.
I hope the Texans can go to Green Bay and get the win, even if by only a very slim margin. The Broncos will take care of the Jaguars and the Jets should beat the Colts.
After this week, this is what the division could look like.

Texans 7-5
Titans 6-6
Colts 5-7
Jaguars 2-10

Lets hope the Texans can gain that game back.

After losing to the Packers in Green Bay, the Texans are at 500 on the season tied with 2 teams. The Colts and the Titans. That Jaguars are way out of the picture now and have no chance of impacting the AFC South other then playing spoiler in the division.
After this weeks past games this is what the division looks like now.

Texans 6-6
Colts 6-6
Titans 6-6
Jaguars 2-10

This next week features and inter division game between the Texans and Colts in Indianapolis, the Titans will take on the Broncos in Tennessee and the Jaguars will take on the Vikings in Jacksonville.
The Texans need to win this game to stay on top of the AFC South. The Titans will lose to the Broncos and Jacksonville will drop theirs to the Vikings.
This is what the division could and hopefully does look like after this week.

Texans 7-6
Colts 6-7
Titans 6-7
Jaguars 2-11

Let's hope the Texans can come out of Indy with the win and stay on top of the division.

After Minnesota the Jaguars play Houston, Tennessee, then Indy.

They can very much affect the AFCSouth Standings. Probably won't, but can.

With the Texans win over the Colts and the Titans win over the Broncos, that still shows a tie in the AFC South with the Texans winning the tie breaker with both a win over the Titans in the first meeting and the divisional win/loss record going to the Texans.
The AFC South looks like this as of today.

Texans 7-6
Titans 7-6
Colts 6-7
Jaguars 2-11

The Texans face the Jaguars at home, the Titans face the the Chiefs in Kansas City and the Colts face the Vikings in Minnesota.
The Texans should beat the Jaguars, the Titans should lose to the Chiefs and the Vikings should take care of the Colts.
After this next week, this is how the AFC could look.

Texans 8-6
Titans 7-7
Colts 6-8
Jaguars 2-12

If this is how it turns out, the Texans could be in the drivers seat of the AFC South and win the division with a win over the Bengals in week 16 with only one game to go against the Titans in week 17 because of the tie breaker.
The Texans are in the drivers seat with only 3 games to go.

well if everything goes has plan the titans and colts will meltdown and the wk 17 game wont mean nothing

either way last year billy didn't use that wk 17 has a mini Bye but maybe this year who knows ...we got a lot of players with Nicks

The Titans are the closest thing to a playoff team on our schedule. Surely he aims to win that one.

I would agree with this. The Texans need to play this game weather it means anything or not like it's a playoff game. Don't rest your starters. Play them.
Get ready for the Raiders to come into our house. That's who it looks like we'll play in the first round. We'll beat them here.

I disagree what if God forbid brown or miller gets hurt in the Titan game

Yall are saying Cushing should go full go even tho his back is damaged or what if j Joe gets hurt agian

I just think it's not worth it
