If we win tonite it will be because we have competent qb play.

Yes, I believe this is true. Brock is going to have to have his best game tonight if they want to win! No turnovers, more than 99 passing yds, and get rid of the ball quickly to avoid sacks. If he can do that, and they get the running game going, I think they have a chance.

Would be nice. But I think I mentioned elsewhere.

Strike 1 - Quality opponent

Strike 2 - Road Game

Strike 3 - Prime time nationally televised game.

They have to prove to me that they can win on the road against a quality team in prime time - multiple times before I'm a bit convinced. So far, it's been disaster. And not this year alone. This year is just the worst of all.

Sorry, but I feel compelled to post this. It really is the best NFL "fight song," even if you don't like the Raiders, you probably like their theme song and/or The Autumn Wind:

And then Fast Eddie down in Florida provided us Raider fans with this electric rendition a few years ago:

Nothing will be as bad as 2013.

An interesting stat that may at least bring some hope to us Texans fans..............as poorly as we have usually performed on national TV, the Raiders have had 1 win and 9 losses on Monday Night Football...................and they are about to play Monday Night Football............:texflag:

It's exciting and really is a big deal that our team is playing in Mexico City on Monday Night Football.
Unfortunately I think it will be another prime time embarrassment for the Houston Texans Fans. I think we still have major issues at the quarterback position. In fact, I think the whole city of Houston knows by now that we still have a major issue specifically at the Quarterback Position. I sure hope he can turn it around tonight and move on from here with a big win on Monday Night and be the quarterback we were all told he was, but after watching his performance for a full half season, all I can think of saying right now is Pitiful.

In the altitude, I'd worry about recently injured (especially soft tissue) players coming back to play tonight............Wilfork, Fuller, Peters.

Raiders' inactives scratches: Connor Cook, Johnny Holton, Dexter McDonald, Antonio Hamilton, Matt McCants, Vadal Alexander, Ryan O'Malley

I'm not one to usually b!tch about stuff like that, but man, has this pregame coverage been one sided on ESPN....

I ******* hate the Texans for holding David Carr against Derek. We are the stupidest franchise in the NFL.

We never know how those meetings at the combine went, and if there was any contact with the family. The fact that they didn't even bring him in for a visit tells me there was no way they were drafting him. Maybe the Carrs wanted nothing to do with Houston. Last thing you want is some Eli Manning forced trade.

Watching this interview with Carr, makes me aggravated that the Texans didn't draft him. I know there's nothing you can do to change the past, but damn the Texans were too scared of public scrutiny. :slapfight:

With the thin air, I expect both QBs to have a number of their passes float high.......the kickers and punters to have their ball go higher and further (harder to predict placement).........and balls bouncing off of receivers that tend to catch balls against their chest instead of with their hands (those with brick hands will see the same effect.

Maybe. But, Derek said no one from the Texans organization ever contacted him prior to the draft. Not a coach or scout. I predicted that the Texans would shy away from another Carr due to fan backlash. I don't think it was a football decision.

Based on talent alone, I would trade up from 2-1 to take Derek Carr. He has the arm, he has the mobility. I would do that if I were drafting for any team not named the Houston Texans. I think he would be a PR disaster here. He would be booed from the 1st snap.
I still think I'm right. The fans would have had zero tolerance with David's little brother. Any Texan fan from the Carr era has to agree with that.

I know he said that, but it's not true. Texans talked to him at the combine that year. They didn't bring him in for a visit, though, like they did with Bortles and Manziel.

I'd love to have him here, so no disagreement on the fact he would have been good for the Texans. Just don't have all the info on how the situation developed.

Well damn it was nice of the NFL and ESPN to allow the Texans onto the same field as the Raiders.

Talk about no respect in the pre-game.

Conditioning and fatigue will be a huge factor in this game. We need a ball control offense - we need to dominate time of possession.
