Rick Smith, who is 3 steps behind the rest of the league, allowed the Pats to trade Brian Stork for peanuts to the Redskins while good old Rick gets worked again by real GMs. So sick of this idiot. There is no accountability for him and the injured players he continues to draft. Martin missed the entire 2013 season. **** our luck.Ian Rapoport Verified account @RapSheet

Belichick is not infallible. We desperately need a veteran C. I don't care if Stork is a hot head that gets into fights. If Belichek don't want him, why would we?

With Nick Martin out, Greg Mancz will be the starter. From all that's we've see in preseason and all that's been said about him from the coaches and other players, He'll be better then ok. He'll hold up the middle just fine. He has XSF to his left and Jeff Allen to his right. It's going to be good. Clark and Lamm have been doing a great job at the tackles. With Brown and Newton slated to return soon, the tackle position looks to be in a great position as well. The offensive line should be good.
Is this a joke? Am I missing something here? Texian is 100% correct in his analysis. This could be the worst OL in the entire league. With Nick Martin out, Greg Mancz will be the starter. BTW, on Martin.........if anyone begins to speculate that ultimately he could still return later this year as the "IR Designated to Return" player, after this type of surgery, it isn't going to happen.

I don't think so. Would anyone rather have Bergstom at center? Not me. Depth will be an issue at center. When the cuts start happening, I'm sure the Texans will pick up some depth on the offensive line. As it stands now, It's Mancz- C, XSF-LG, Brown/Clark-LT, Allen-RG, Newton/Lamm-RT. This is what the Texans have to go with. Like it or not. These guys will have to perform. And they will.Is this a joke? Am I missing something here? Texian is 100% correct in his analysis. Lamm has gotten abused several times. Our OL with all of these guys is not going to be ok. Rick failing to address LT with Brown still not back added on with all of these other injuries is a disaster. Typical Rick failures in having a team with no depthWith Nick Martin out, Greg Mancz will be the starter. That's the point both of our tackles are out and only our RT is probable to be back Game 1. This is another preventable disaster that Rick's incompetence has brought upon us.If the tackles return to health, this is nowhere near the worst line in the league. Middle of the road perhaps but jeez people chill out. It's a game remember.

What about our tackles? 60% of our OL is shelved. I'm not one to panic. It's warranted now.Na i don't see it being the worse O-line just because our unproven rookie Center is now out for the season.

Rapaport has been the Grim Reaper today for us. Duane is NOT going to be ready Game 1
RapSheet:
More on #Texans Oline: I’m told LT Duane Brown (torn quad) is not expected to be ready for the season. HOU being cautious, may remain on PUP

Not so far as panic ... but legit concern and a healthy dose of worry. Without waxing dramatic, just hate the potential for bad here.

When you look at the starting OL TODAY and then take in to consideration what they're getting paid....the old adage comes to mind....you get what you pay for. Clark = $2.5MM; XSF = $1.5MM; Mancz = vet min; Allen = $6.2MM; Lamm = vet min.To appease the thread police on the training camp injury thread, let's discuss the impact of the OL injuries here. Not having reliable depth when your starting LT suffered a major injury the last game of the year is yet another black mark against Rick Smith's run as GM. Missing 60% of your starters in preseason and now past the opening game is reason to panic. The plane has crashed into the mountain. Lamm and Bergstrom are terrible and Mancz is mediocre at best. Discuss amongst yourselves.
Because the Pats have incredible interior OL depth and Stork has had concussion issues in the past.

Belichek didn't want him because of attitude problems, and we certainly don't need that here on a young team. I too wish they would have addressed the OL more than they did... now. In fairness they did draft an OLineman early and added two in FA, one of which was highly rated. If not for Newton going down and now Martin, our OL would be in pretty good shape considering they expect(ed) Brown to be back for the regular season opener
IIRC the center no longer sets the OLine, QB calls play for offense so if correct, that is burden off center. In that case, Manz should be able to hold his own as he adapts to NFL. If Su'a-Fila continues progress we saw last season, he and Allen will help the center. I was not that gung ho on Martin. Prosch will focus blocking rush from middle and Os will get ball off before blitz quickly which he would have to do anyway. I do expect we will have many try outs next few days.

You know you would have been complaining about something else if those backups were paid like startersWhen you look at the starting OL TODAY and then take in to consideration what they're getting paid....the old adage comes to mind....you get what you pay for. This is a rosy picture. Especially with Os having all of 7 starts under his belt. While your at it tell me about all of the quality depth on the OL. Give this team a couple of more minor 1-3 game injuries and Os better learn to pull a HWNSNBM fetal position maneuver or he wont last the season.
I said we were going to crash and burn with our QB situation. The first 7 games and last game proved my point to my chagrin. Last season almost killed my Texans fandom. You panicked last year.....
