I'd take Ladarius Green and Gavin Escobar over anyone on our roster. Add Vernon Davis to the do not contact list.

For a reasonable price I'm in. I seriously doubt the price will be reasonable. He could very well be franchise tagged. I'm seeing this as Manning's last hoorah. Kubes isn't going to let go of Osweiler easily. Neither is John Elway.Osweiler
Add this police officer in Washington D.C. to the list of potential free agent running backs. What a devastating stiff arm he has and good receiving skills out of the back field.
Move over beast mode!!!! That was getting it down today in the mist of that snow storm they had up there in the Northeast. ESPN NFL Monday Night Countdown had that "Come on, MAN!" segment. That's what I'd call COME ON MAN!!!!!!
That's a vicious stiff arm. The defender got JACKED UP!
Looked like a crime by that officer. He ate his Wheaties alright.
That police officer's stiff arm has me pumped up for some smash mouth football. If only there was another Earl Campbell who could carry the rock for the Houston Texans!
That's winning football to me. Is that even legal today? Lowering the crown of your helmet into a defender's chest? I think so if it's between the tackles? Or am I mistaken? Either way the defender is helpless and the running back is the defense applying the pain. That's football to me!!!!
You know what would be sweet? Ngata in Crick's place and then taking over for Wilfork after this season at NT.
Go to our hybrid 3-4/4-3 and we swap between Ngata-Wilfork-Watt and Watt-Ngata-Wilfork-Clowney or something along those lines. Then when Wilfork hangs them up it becomes _______-Ngata-Watt for a while.
No. No more old players please. That crap just doesnt work

I am not sure he has will power to lose that much weight. He gets $4 million and I do not see Texans cutting him. I will not be stunned if he has a pedal injury this season and sit out part of season.I'm hoping Wilfork got his second wind. I hope he feels like we have something special here & rededicates himself to winning. I hope he works out this off season the way he did after his rookie season, comes in 20 ~30 pounds lighter... a bit stronger, & ready to dominate like he used to.

Redskins and QB Kirk Cousins have broken off contract talks, per team source. No further talks scheduled.
Negotiation ploy. He's asking for $20M per year. They will let him sweat it and if he doesn't come back to the table with a more realistic offer then they will franchise him.
That shoots that theory.Just to add a little more information. The franchise tag for a QB is estimated to be $19.6M
Osweiler never hits the street. They will get him a contract before FA starts.

Yep. Difference being the franchise is a 1-year, $19.6M tender that won't hurt you long term if the guy doesn't live up to that salary. However, a 5-year deal at that rate can destroy your cap if the guy doesn't live up to it.
They obviously don't want to give Cousins that $20M a year over a long term deal. They can franchise him to make him come back next year and prove that he should get that kind of money. He does that and they will be more willing to come to the negotiating table. He wants a long term deal but knows if he overplays his hand then he could end up on franchise tender, possibly bust next year, and then never see that long term deal.
It's a tough line to walk. Do I take $75M right now or take $20M and hope to parlay it into $100M next year.
interesting. 72 Ts 25 YOAWe need this guy:

"Snacks" Harrison has been a key part of the Jets 3-4 at the nose. 350 pounds of run stuffing beast! he is only projected to get around 5 million per year but the Jets have other priorities to resign and probably will not be able to keep him. Sign him and let him spend a year with Vince
Rams release Chris Long, James Laurinaitis and Jared Cook
Should the Texans kick the tires on these guys?
I would bring all three in for a workout and see if they'd be willing to play a supporting role rather than a starting role.Cook maybe?
I would use him to spell Cushing, if McKinney has a good enough grasp on the defense to make the calls like Cushing does.Long is a good player but doesn't fit the defense.
Cook puts up decent numbers but can't block and drops too many passes. We already have that.
Laurinaitis is the only one I would consider. And it would have to be cheap. He doesn't really bring anything that we don't already have in McKinney and Cushing.

My targets at each position would be,
QB Sam Bradford. I know he's most likely not going to ever be the franchise QB we all want but he's got some talent and he did play pretty good the second half of the season for the Eagles. Bring him in and let him compete with Savage and whoever we draft.
Backup plan
If Kaepernick becomes available replace Bradford with him.
RB Say goodbye to Foster unless he takes a huge paycut. Even if he does take a paycut it's time to replace him as the starter. I'm Going after Doug Martin or Lamar Miller. Both are still young and are solid players.
Backup plan if those two are to expensive, Alfred Morris or Bilal Powell are next on my list.
WR Travis Benjamin, We need speed and he has it. He would be perfect in the slot and he can return punts. Seriously doubt he wants to return to Cleveland. Perfect replacement for Washington.
TE Ladarius Green. Its time we got a real receiving threat TE on this team.
Backup plan, Dwayne Allen is only 26. Had a down year because of injuries to him and his QB's, but when healthy is better than anything we have had in years.
OL I'm looking for a fairly young OT that wont break the bank that can come in and push Newton inside. Mitchell Schwartz, Bobby Massie
Chris Clark. This would allow us to have better qaulity depth on the OL. Brooks and Jones are FA's and this could mean we don't have to worry about resigning Brooks. I would also kick the tires on Alex Mack before resigning Jones at C.
DL/DT Let Wifork go and sign Damon Harrison. He does everything Wilfork does now but better and hes younger. He's one of the better young NT's available. It's going to be hard for the Jets to resign him and Wilkerson. This is the kind of move we should of made instead of bringing in an at the end of his career Wilfork.
DL/DT Derek Wolfe. I really wanted us to draft him a few years ago. Denver can't resign everyone on that great defense. Let Crick move on and replace him with Wolfe.
Free agents are somebody else's rejects. While they can help, we need some real new talent.
The only FA I am keen on getting is TE Heath Miller.
It's a fairly weak FA market. I wouldn't mind seeing the Texans add some depth, but I don't see a lot that I would aggressively target.Jets franchised Wilkerson
Bears franchised Jeffery
Saints cut Colston

Hes one of my targets as well but dam if this draft ain't the deepest at DL I have ever seen.Give me Damon Harrison at NT and Ill be good
According to multiple reports, the paperwork has been filed with the league to officially place the tag on Wilkerson and it is the non-exclusive variety. That means Wilkerson will make $15.7 million if he plays out the season under the terms of the tag and that other teams can approach him with offers, although the Jets can match and would receive two first-round picks from the raiding team in the event they don’t match.

The Broncos tagging Von Miller opens the door for Brock Osweiler to potentially hit the open market.
