Semi-Finals - Need help with a QB conundrum !?

I have Rivers going up against KC who put the clamps on him a few weeks ago & he's without his best WR , Keenan Allen who's out for the season. He was #5 in the league as a fantasy WR at the time he went down ... and was on my roster. Go figure. I'm starting the Chiefs defense ....

My options are .... Brian Hoyer who I picked up off the scrap heap when one of my TE's went to IR.
Mariota , Alex Smith , Cutler , Bradford & Hasselbeck are all available on waivers.

Hoyer ... gets a tough test in NE (#9 against QB's) but he'll likely have to throw a lot to keep up with Brady's offense , just don't know if he's going to come out and lay a damn egg as this franchise is prone to doing in primetime games.

Mariota - all or nothing play , not much in between. He might give you 40 or 10. Tough defense in the Jets (12th)

Alex Smith - He posted 13.4 points the last time they played SD , on the road. SD is #14 against QB's. The Chiefs offense has been a little more vertical since Charles went down. The last two weeks he's posted 25.7 & 28.8.

Cutler - He's been garbage the past 3 games. Prior to that , acceptable production , 5 consecutive games of 21 and one 30+ game. He gets a pretty neutral matchup #16 Washington.

Bradford - Never mind.

Hasselbeck - He gets the NFL's worst defense against opposing QB's in Jax. But damn that offense is a wreck.

I can win this weeks matchup and a spot in the finals pending I get fairly average production out of my QB spot ....

Tyrod isn't available? Has a nice matchup vs Philly.

Nope .... the guy in the other finals bracket has him .... starting.

I was leaning towards Hoyer myself , thinking he has the highest floor of the group , in the neighborhood of ~23 mainly because the Texans don't have a reliable running game and are going to chuck it around in an effort to keep up with Brady.

Smith had only 13.4 the last time he played SD tho I expect him to eclipse that number .... and that offense is really built around the ground game.

Don't need to swing for the fences with Mariota or Cutler .... I'm predicted to win this matchup even if I start Rivers .... but wanted a better option because his floor is very low.

Hasselbeck is intriguing going against the Jags but he only put up 17.4 against them in week 4 and that offense has regressed since.

Well , I went with Hoyer , we'll see how that turns out in a couple hours. If he can give me ~23 I'll be satisfied and should win the matchup despite getting only 18.8 points out of my two starters at RB (Freeman & Peterson).

Here's how the other potentials fared:

Smith: 15.6
Mariota: 21.9
Hasselbeck: 9.1
Cutler: 23.1
Bradford: 14.2

I started him too...but it's the last week of the season and I already have the best record

4.2 points out of my starting QB .... and I should still win - opponent has 3 players in tomorrow nights game but trails by 54.5 - Eli Manning , Jarvis Landry and Lamar Miller. Combined they are projected to post 51. Hope its not a shootout.

Should have known better than starting a Texans QB when they are playing in prime time.

did you survive? I know Eli & Miller had big games.

Nope .... needed a 54.5 point cushion and those three put up 71.6.

I had sub par games from RB1 , RB2 & QB .... Only Cutler would have been enough out of the available QB's.

Nothing on my bench would have improved anything either.

Injuries really took their toll on my roster ... oh well , always next year.
