Is it possible that the Jags could win the division? That would be the icing on this schit cake season.

I just threw up in my mouth. DamnSure is. They're only a game back out of first right now. As long as the Texans and Colts keep crapping the bed every week it leaves first place open for the taking.
Yeah there is a possibility... slim but possible
Slim??
If we do what we normally do (which it looks like we're in that mode) & lose @Indy, then the Jags win in week 17 (@NRG), We're 7-9.
They've got Atlanta, New Orleans, & Texans. They can definitely run that table.
Indy would have to lose to both Miami & Tennessee (after mudstomp'n us), which is likely to happen the way things have been going for them the last couple of weeks.
Jacksonville would win the division at 8-8.
How does the tiebreaker look if we beat Indy/Ten then lose to Jac and we both finish 8-8?Slim??

Under the scenario described, both the Texans and the Colts would be 4-2 (The Colts are currently 3-1). There would also be a tie in common opponent W/L percentage and conference records, so I believe it would boil down to strength of victory - which the Texans currently have the edge in. As I mentioned in a post last week, wins by the Jets, Bengals, and Saints help the Texans tie-breaker chances. Wins by the Broncos, Falcons, and Dolphins hurt them (so root accordingly tonight).I think the Texans would win a tie based on better division record, iirc.
Based on your scenario, the Jags would be 3-3 in the division, and the Texans 4-2.
I stongly agree with this comment.yeah I think it's slim possibility of Jax winning out while Indy and us go 1-2 or worse

My bad - misread the post.Agree on Indy, but I was only talking about 8-8 records for the Texans and Jags under that scenario.
I think there's a small chance of that happening.I'm legitimately terrified about the possibility of a week 17 flexed Sunday Night Game against the Jags for the AFC South.

I wouldn't mind that at all. It would mean we went into Indy this week and won for the first time ever.I'm legitimately terrified about the possibility of a week 17 flexed Sunday Night Game against the Jags for the AFC South.
I may be wrong, but I believe the JAGS would be eliminated due to division record. They need to have a superior record and that will require the winner of the Texan Colt game to lose their remaining 2 and the loser split their final 2 at best. Possible, but unlikely. Common opponent will not come into play because the Jags always lose in Division Play with 3 losses.Under the scenario described, both the Texans and the Colts would be 4-2 (The Colts are currently 3-1).
