*** Official Battle Red Game Day Thread Patriots @ Texans ***

You know what's great? The Pats recognized that the Texans have only a couple guys that can beat them, so they schemed them out. Meanwhile, all we hear about is how the Pats have lost so many players on offense and defense,so we know it's going to be a bunch of Gronk and Amendola. So the Texans just let those players beat them on offense, while letting the 17th string players on defense shut down their offense.

It's stupefying.
For our coaches also.

Need more playmakers is the bottom line...
I agree. If we handled the draft better we might have some. But some of it is the vision you have for your team. This managements vision was to win by defense, that is why we drafted Clowney. Obviously WRONG vision. He will go the way of Mario.

Need to draft the best QB we can get! QB is always heart and soul of team.... No knock on JJ he is the best but hard for him to put points on the board. Need TDs to win, 6 points won't cut it.

Lessons learned from this game:
Hoyer still can't lead anyone.
Newton is a sack of poo.
JJ w one hand is still pretty damn good.
Clowney is playing better.
We're not a very good team; top to bottom.

We've won 6 pointless games already -- so we are out of the Lynch sweepstakes.

But don't worry, Hackenberg is out there for our first round pick to be wasted on...

LOL. I had the same thought. He probably worked real hard at practice.

dude...yeah he looked great not allowing opposing offenses score a TD for 13-16 consecutive qtrs...

Hoyer did nothing against the Bengals while the D was playing good. Yates threw a TD the D was still playing good. The TD was the game winner.

No denying the Defense was outstanding, but what has Hoyer been all season ? Not good. Yates is no worse than Hoyer. And Yates has actually won important games for us.

Hey look, another Texans embarassment on prime time against a tier 1 team. When this is a pattern and you can't score one TD against backup defenders, the problem is more than QB. It's playcalling.
Good point. The wild cat didn't work the whole game and OB/Godsey continued to go to it in the 2nd half.

Go ahead and throw OL and pass catchers onto that list as well. Seems like the entire offense needs a makeover.

We need a tight end that can catch a ball too. Add that to the list of needs.

I mean if you think Yates would be any better than Hoyer..whatever...this offense doesn't have enough playmakers and I've got no doubts that what happened tonite with Hoyer would've happened with Yates...but whatever, keep serving up your agenda.

if we get in the playoffs with a non-winning record in a joke of a division, we are going nowhere anyway. the texans are groundhog day

Our offense is just like this fan in the stands, a total mess. WTF?!?

Not enough play makers...Hoyer had Washington wide open for 2 long TDs and under threw both (same as last week). I'm sure those two TDs change the way the game is played, plus add in the fumbles by Hoyer.

The hyperbole here is terrible

Fix the QB issue and you fix 75% of the offensive problems. PERIOD.

Brees will be a free agent this year. Sign him for 3 years and draft a QB to develop.

No credible FA QB would want to come here. The OL sucks, we have 1 person that can catch the ball, and combined we have 0 healthy RBs. If I'm Brees I'm looking elsewhere.

Funny you mention Brees...how's his team doing?

You're right the hyperbole is ridiculous...Folks thinking that better qb play was gonna help Nate Washington and Ryan Griffin come down with catches they were able to get both hands on..better qb play was help Derek Newton not blow blocking assignments...is gonna help the rb by committee run the ball better...

Heh. That's not a bad idea. Let Brees retire in Texas, where he belongs, and really teach some kid behind him.

I'm onboard.

I have zero confidence in Obrien at this point especially considering this circle jerk cluster f*** quarterback situation we have had this year and last. 6 points is the best we can do with our best players on offense. pitiful

The Saints are doing awful because of their defense... I will take Drew Brees over any other options we have at QB right now.

Brees has played pretty damn good this year without a lot of weapons. His defense has been abysmal.

Him alone wont fix everything but he rectifies a lot of the problems.

Yeah u do remember Yates overthrew Hopkins for a long TD in the Jets game right? All but 1 TD he threw in both games he started were more about amazing catches Nuk made than awesome throws Yates made.

Bottom line is I know of no qb who is 100% accurate on every ball they throw...even the wide open 1's...Brady wasn't accurate on lots of his throws tonite..that pass he threw to gronk early in the 1st qtr where mercilus fell down wasn't accurate by your standards...the difference is his guys made plays for him...

Nate was able to get both his hands on those passes and was only able to come down with 1 of them...won't even talk about the passes griffin dropped...

Heard we were bringing in Tim Tebow and Johnny Football in the offseason to compete for starting quarterback.
