For those against international games, you will be very disappointed. Its not only *not* going away, but likely only going to increase. The NFL is the only league that really hasn't cashed in globally like the other leagues, even the NHL. They want that to change bigtime with London being the starting point.

And for those that prefer only Sunday afternoon games, go look at what NBC and ESPN/Disney paid for SNF and MNF. The league's success and crazy franchise values are caused significantly by those crazy TV contracts. When garbage teams like the Jags, Titans, Bills etc are all worth more than $1B, every owner smiles and stays the TV course.

I like them all! Last year I had an opportunity to attend an international game in London, and look forward to doing that one again because it was a complete football experience.

The season seem to end too soon for me anyway after looking forward for seemingly forever, then before I know it, it's over. But with the schedule as it is, I get more opportunities to watch games and Thursday through Monday I get to see a minimum of five games each week. A couple of times there are two Monday night games and some Saturday games bonus.

Tomorrow night, Buffalo@NYJets. A game I probably wouldn't get on Sunday. Thankfully it'll be on tomorrow night. Thursday.

I want to watch because both teams have stirred the interest of most fans of the game. Maybe one, or both will be relevant again. Probably be an uncompetitive affair, but who's going to be whupp'n butt & who'll be getting whupp'd?

I have no idea, but that's part of the allure for me.

Sammy Watkins, I hope he has a repeat performance of last week. I already dropped him from my fantasy team, but still... I'm down to watch a 9 catch 148 yard 1 TD game.

Karlos Williams is on my fantasy team. I hope he repeats.. even better last week's game.

& it's kinda hard not to root for Fitzmagic.

Waiting for injury updates on Watkins and McCoy. If they don't play I may take the Jets in suicide

Thursday is GARBAGE DAY.
Eh - GARBAGE is in the eye of the beholder...

Thursday is GARBAGE DAY.

Sounds like you clearly just aren't an NFL fan then. You are just one of those fans that pays attention to only your team, and really don't care about watching the rest or what happens with them. To each its own, but it isn't garbage. I enjoy football, and there are plenty of non intriguing match ups, but then I have the option to not watch. It doesn't hurt me to not watch.

>Do you like Thursday Night Football?

Yep, Thursday night American Conference Football!

I'm too disinterested in the NFL right now --- thanks a lot Texans!!

Nope. The most inside of jokes. Thursday IS my garbage day and the day I have to leave the can at the curb.

Thursday is just another of the six days a week you shouldn't have NFL Football LIVE. Now making more games available on demand should satisfy the NFL cravings without disrupting the routines.

Thursday should be designated as JV/Jr. High ONLY. Friday as High School. Saturday is College. Sunday is PRO. Monday is recovery day and on demand.

Man, you are living in the past.

This is how it works in modern America:

Jr. high plays on Mondays (7th) and Tuesdays (8th grade).

HS JV plays on Thursdays.

HS varsity plays Friday and Saturday

College is Tuesday-Saturday.

And now NFL is Sunday, Monday, and Thursday.

It may be different in various parts of the country, but the above public school schedule is in Klein.

btw, MNF has only been around 45 years now.

Also, in December the NFL is Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

Why? Because you made up this routine in your non creative brain? No one can play football on any other day than Sunday!! Because I say so!!

Marshall has this everything was better in my ancient youth shtick going - professional football was on Sundays, women were in the kitchen, dual water fountains all around. Aah the glory days when everything was in its place.

First electricity moving through the ether, then football on Monday, then clapping on 2 & 4, then football on Thursday, then phones with TV's on 'em ...

... you'd almost have to be crazy enough to think things were ... evolving ...

I know all about his schtick Cak. I can even relate on a few topics (none of his), but the majority of his are just the typical 1960's bravado of keeping everything in the old ways. The majority of his idealisms in that regard come from the bible and are religious based traditions that he wants forced on everyone else.

I can't even attempt to understand the NFL football on Thursdays being a problem thing though. God forbid you can't be around on a Sunday to watch football. IT's nice having Monday and Thursday night to catch a game or two if you want to watch football that night.

I'm living in the presents and longing to return to the past, at least as far as football game schedules are concerned.

One out of three were right. You're improving.

Next week is a great matchup, as well. Cardinals vs. Vikings. Who says pro football on Thursday night is bad entertainment? I love it!

It's just a pain in the ass to stay up then have to get up early for work the next day. I guess I'm just an old fart, but I also think it's sometimes too much. I know that come February I'll be wishing for an NFL game. Maybe even the Jags vs Titans. Nevermind No, not even those.

That's where it's handy to live in the mountain time zone. Not too early for early sunday games, not too late for night games. Honestly, I don't think I'd be able to handle night games on the east coast.

I can respect that. I'm a night owl, so it's never been a problem for me. Anything over 5-6 hours of sleep throws off my own circadian rhythm, but I know everyone is different in that regard.

Do you not watch Monday night games? Those things have been on since we were kids.

I prefer MNF games but I wish it had the cast the TNF had because I can't stand listening to Ray Lewis speak. I get dumber from it.

I either mute or change the channel when it's time for Ray to spew. He's even more painful to listen to than Emmitt Smith, who set the standard for "why is he on tv?".

The Unis alone make this game worth watching.
Riiight....
it's like watching two sets of Crayolas playing football
or maybe an old Atari 2600 football game; you know, back in the 8-bit video game days

I dozed off for a minite, had to hit the DVR. I just saw a trademark 12 yard sack just before the half.

But other than that, he looks like a pretty good stop gap.

Welcome to the 21st Century, ObsiWan. We have color TVs, now.
The 21st century has brought us 1,000 worthless channels with less worthwhile to watch than when we only had two we could pick up with rabbit ears. I'll take the 20th century, Thank You.

Whatever. You yearn for the days everything was idolized BS. Whoohoo white hats win, injuns bad, who needs color.

There's a lot more than your happy happy joy joy world.

Just playing my part as the old cynic of the new modern culture. Somebody has to do it.

Maybe you do know, but you don't seem real happy about it. Let's hope Santa brings you a copy of Knute Rockne: All American. Filmed in spectacular Techninoncolor.

Well I just don't see why anyone would want it to go away?

they have the opportunity to see more football. How could that ever be a bad thing?

Football is such a complex physical game , takes time for players to recover and to prepare for an opponent.

Three days just isn't enough time for either.

What we fans get is bad football .... Teams unprepared lots of players sitting out and poor matchups .... Then think about the guys with minor injuries who play that Thursday game and end up out for the season .... But hey , we get to watch a football game and the league rakes in stacks of cash from advertisements.

^^^^
This!
There's a reason teams don't do contact drills until Thursday in a 'normal' week.

I legit forgot there was even a game until I heard the result on ESPN Radio overnight. Glad mustard prevailed. I'm not much of ketchup man.

This is actually a good argument against it. You have actually swayed me. Congrats Corrosion. This doesn't happen that often on this website. To bad the rep system isn't around anymore.
