Players to watch for 2016 draft

My main worry about Sudfeld is his durability, which is odd to say when you consider his size. He's started less than 20 games in his career and been hurt three times. None of his injuries seem repetitive in nature. He's had a hand, a shoulder, and now an ankle.

But the big problem with the injuries is that this new one could keep him off the field even more. He's already missed 11 games out of 42 due to injury. I really like QB prospects to get as many reps as possible while in college and Sudfeld is running out of time.

Everything else appears to be there. He's efficient, accurate, safe with the ball, but also gutsy enough to make plays downfield.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you say here. Just further proof that size does not equal durability.

Watching Dak Prescott play live against the Aggies on Saturday... I have to agree with the above assessment. Seems like a poor man's Tebow to me.

Jack is a stud. As long as he can rehab and recover and clear his medicals at the Combine, he will be a 1st round pick.

What's more interesting about all of this is Jim Mora coming out and saying Jack isn't ready. What a self serving douche.

He said the same thing about Brett Hundley which in a way he's right but he was the coach who didn't prepare them .

He had a point on Hundley. He wasn't ready. He had serious flaws in his game. Jack, however, has put 2+ years of dominant play on film and Mora saying he isn't ready is so transparent. We all know he's just sour about his best player getting injured and then leaving.

Could it be about maturity? I don't have a dog in the fight either way, but I remember hearing a coupld moans somewhere about Jack being a bit of a big kid. Maybe Mora's just talking about being ready to be a pro in ways off the field. Idk.

No talk about maturity (and for what it's worth I've never heard even a whisper hinting that could be an issue). It was all about on the field. Mora called it risky and stressed how he doesn't think there is enough film on Jack, thus implying that he needs to come back to get more of his play on film (despite the fact he has 2+ years of All-American play on film).

Take that for what you will. I take it for bull****. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

I hadn't heard Mora's exact comments myself. As that's the case then yup, just sounds like Mora's got his junk in a twist. Jack looks terrific on film.

His film is fantastic any other year he would be the 1st LB off the board. Just so happens he will be coming out the same year as Jaylon Smith (who is amazing).

Year early, but how do you guys feel about Kyle Allen?

Yeah yeah homerism, but to me the guy is easily already the most complete QB to play at A&M in a LOOONG time. Might not be as electric as Manziel but I think his tools are much better.

Best potential pro QB to come through A&M that I've seen.

It's still too early for me to grade him but I like him a lot. Among underclassmen, the only guy head and shoulders above him is Goff. Allen is in a group with Paxton Lynch (Memphis) and Brad Kaaya (Miami) for the next best. I would like to put Hackenberg in that group as well but I don't think I can. I also like Towles from Kentucky a little bit. All those guys are easily above Cardale, who is a junior but pretty much guaranteed to go early.

All those guys except Kaaya are juniors so I'd say Allen is looking good going forward.

Agree. I actually like Lynch too from what I've seen of Memphis, but I'd have to study up on Kaaya though I've heard the reviews. I don't know what to think of Hackenberg. I don't know whether it's on him or his coaches, but that's a mess that might not even be worth figuring out.

Part of my evaluation of Kyle has been tethered by the fact that our O-line is not that great in pass-pro. He's got a few tendencies that irk me, but the way he climbs the pocket and delivers some next-level throws are just flat out impressive to me.

Allen isn't perfect obviously. He's really young and has work he needs to do. But he's off to a great start and has some really good tools to work with.

Even though it feels like he's been the starter for a while, this last game was only his 10th career start. By comparison, Kaaya, who is the same age, has 17.

I think A&M hurts his rhythm a little bit by trying to get Murray involved at times but I think they'll slow down with that as they approach the meat of their schedule.

Kaaya and Allen are true Jr.'s correct?

Lynch? Who I haven't seen play but have heard raves about.

What I noticed about Allen is when he throws an out sideline pass, the ball starts out 6' off the ground and when it gets to it's intended target it might be 2' off the ground and some have bounced before getting to the receiver which shows me a lack of of arm strength. A BIG arm throwing that same pass would hit the receiver in the chest. In other words, right now Allen is a 80MPH fastball pitcher not a 95 MPH fastball pitcher.
