Texans VS Falcons....let's Predict ;)

EllisUnit

Vote RED!!!
Well we have our first win of the season under our belts.

Texans 31

Falcons 24

Just please don't leave Jones 1 on 1 against our guys Romeo.

I say watt has a 3 sack game and Clowney gets the first of his career.

30-20 Falcons. The Texans D is good enough to force some FG's. The offense isn't good enough to score > 20 pts.

Didn't Jadeveon Clowney sack Matt Ryan for his first NFL sack?
Unofficially of course because it was the preseason but I count it.
He will make it official on Sunday that's all. Not one, not two, but three for #90!

Texans win a thriller on the road, 23-20 in Overtime. Nick Novak with the game-winning field goal. He's working out for the Texans tomorrow. We better sign him tomorrow afternoon.

The defense should remember this shannahan offence . Most of them have seen it a lot
From practice before OB and also the Cleveland game last year.
Much better quarterback running it though

Wildly optimistic this week after predicting a 6-0 victory last week on a fumble return.

This week we win 13-0, 2 fumble returns for a TD and this week fat randy gets an XP.

Falcons 34
Texans 19

Too much firepower vs a very suspect Texans offense equals another loss for the good guys. We are seriously looking at a 1-5 start with a short week game vs Colts coming up.

Flagons 20
Texans 10
The mathematics of this one just aren't in our favor.

I predict a bad day Sunday. Bad outcomes for everyone. Misery will plague the Texans this season as they are forced yet again to lose to the Dolts on national TV, and lose another promising QB when someone rolls up on his ankle. We will have the number four pick in the draft next year and get another defensive lineman with it, who will promptly fall off the podium at the NFL live draft and miss his rookie season.

F'king optimists.

#1 draft pick, QB Luckier, who trips over Smith's toes, falls off the stage onto JJ's knee gorking himself and ending JJ's career.

something similar to the first two games. We get curb-stomped for 3Q but
get some garbage time scores in the 4th to make it look respectable.

37-18 Falcons. They're too much offensively, we're below average offensively and will have trouble moving the ball. We need Foster back for this one to stand a chance. It will be nice to see Tevin Coleman for a full game though this week, I liked that guy in the draft.

I've been in GA a long time.....Atlanta is basically Houston's little cousin.

Sooooo......since this is a game they are supposed to win handily......Texans 27 Falcons 26.

Our two decent offensive drives a game isn't going to be enough.

They've had three scoring drives of ~60 yards or more in both the Chiefs and Bucs games. They also had two non-scoring drives (KC-downs and TB-Missed FG) that were 60+ yards. Not that I'm comparing the Texans to the Greatest Show On Turf or anything, but they have had 10 ~60+ yard drives in the first three games. They are 12th in Offense for overall yardage per game. It's the 6:5 TD to FG ratio that they need to improve. Too many 3's and not enough 7's.

You should change your user name to "Statman" instead of sandman. It'd be more fitting

Wow, that is a very bold prediction considering he has zero sacks in his career. But sometimes when it rains it pours I guess.

JJ Watt sacks in first 9 games of career - 2

Clowney has 4 games under his belt. Pretty sure it will all work out.

EDIT - Mario had 4.5 total sacks rookie year. Watt had 5.5 total sacks rookie year. Neither were coming back from major reconstructive surgery. Not worried about Clowney at this point in his career.

I sure hope so.

Winning this game will give me some optimism. I don't think we'll win though.

Mallett gives me some hope, but overall I think this is a bad team.

I don't really trust the Falcons though.

I'd go with Falcons. But I could see the Texans winning.

Falcons have a suspect offensive line, if Watt and Clowney get going and we can actually get some turnovers, we have a chance. The Cowboys took it to the Falcons in the 1st half by establishing the run and limiting the Falcons chances. Arian and Blue can do that. BOB is really good at controlling the ball and if we follow the same formula we did vs. Bucs, (with some defensive help) we can win.

Optimistic:

Texans 24
Falcons 21

Reality:

Falcons 28
Texans 20

I really hate to break it to you but beating the Bucs wasn't a real big accomplishment. They aren't very good at all. Unless you watched the ATL/DALLAS game you would know that yes, we got gashed for a few plays early on but settled down towards the end of the 2nd quarter. Pitched a shut out the entire 2nd half. I know that the Texans DLine will be the best we will face yet and I know that it will be a real challenge for our Oline, which is coming into their own quite nicely. Getting better each week. But I hope you guys aren't hanging your hat on a running game with a banged up Foster and a suspect QB and your Dline to win this game. I'm not a homer by any means and will admit that the Falcons still need a lot of work. But I just don't see you guys winning. Julio will get his. Every team so far hasn't had an answer for him. Every teams fan's thinks double coverage with safety help over the top does the trick but he's still catching balls.

Good luck to you guys and here's to an injury free game!

Any win is an accomplishment, but I agree, the Bucs win doesn't prove much.

Just like a win vs. Cowboys with Brandon Weeden and quite a few pieces missing isn't much, either, but you seem happy about it.

"But I hope you guys aren't hanging your hat on a running game with a banged up Foster and a suspect QB and your Dline to win this game."

The Cowboys did just that. The blueprint is there, we need to be able to run the ball, control Ryan's opportunities, and hope that our defense can get some turnovers. You guys will be trying to put up a lot of points and we will be trying to lower your amount of possessions. If the Falcons win it, it will be because we couldn't control the TOP, and slow down Matt and Julio.(and you guys scored a lot of points) If the Texans will it will be because we successfully ran the ball, and controlled the clock. (Should be a low scoring game, if we win.)

Our offensive line should (fingers crossed) be healthy and full-go this week. A 60-70% Foster is still a lot better than a 100% Blue because of how we can use him in the offense.

There is no answer for Julio just like there's no real answer for Watt, elite players will get theirs, period.

Should be a fun game, here's to an injury free game, of course!

It's time for Jadeveon Clowney to rack up a lot of sacks.
He'll have not one, not two, but three against Matt Ryan.
And oh yeah, I already predicted my score. I forgot. Go Texans!
I called the Nick Novak signing a day early too. We'll win this game.

Julio can only get what is thrown. Stopping him consists of stopping Matty Ice and that is a possibility, though not a certainty.

Texans 17
Falcons 27

Texans currently lead the league in pass attempts. That must stop if they want a shot at victory. The Falcons defense can be had on the ground and if the Texans don't have that game clock running every second they have the ball, it could be worse than what I already think it'll be.

Whitney beat them both with 6 his rookie year.

Arian Foster is a game-time decision. If he plays he'll run wild over that poor Falcons run defense. The Falcons have so far really struggled to stop the run. They've allowed 3.17 yards before contact per rush, the third most in the NFL. They've also allowed 4.78 yards per rush overall, fifth most in the league.

People forget that these same Falcons almost lost to the Giants and could be a 2-1 team if not for the Giants farting that game away and that was a pretty high scoring game from a team that really hasn't scored inside the redzone themselves.

I'm feeling pretty good about this game since we got an offense with a confident running game.

The only thing that scares me is JJo....but I'm hoping those first two games were due to not getting the game legs back.

Neither team has much of a run game to speak of. The season is still young, but we had one good game... last week. They had one good game... last week.

Sunday will be a real test for them, because I think our run defense has at least been consistently avg where theirs hasn't.
