Who else thinks the Texans are going to crash and burn in 2015

Since then, 'cak has taken over the role, and he tends to not sweat the little things and does not seem to give a crap about being a target of pointless vitriol.

If there is anyone on this board that's had run-ins with Cak, it's me. In fact, it's hard for me to remember the last time we actually agreed on something about anything. Yeah, sometimes he's a prick, but I'm no angel either. But I do have respect for him, and the thankless job he has to do.

But one thing he does not do, is this constant and never-ending cascade of repeating the same thing over and over again, knowing full well that we all know what his opinion is of the subject, yet continues to do it just to irritate everyone else, all because he's miserable, and wants everyone else to be.

That's not assholish behavior, that's trollish behavior. And in my view, trollish behavior is a bannable offense.

But . . . I don't run this pop stand.
 
I was joking earlier but i remember a time when TF would post about suing the Texans because of the product.

At least TF has taken steps away from that..it may be baby steps but it is steps.

I bet it would be interesting if all of us were watching a game together,going through the highs and low of the game and only after the game was over we'd reveal our screen names.
I bet there would be some surprises

I warred with Vinny at the beginning. I really respected his opinion and posts. He was a very good moderator. infantrycak is awful as a poster and a moderator. Comparing the 2 is a tremendous insult to Vinny. I would hope infantrycak gets the hint that he is a terrible moderator and save face and quit. Let someone else who doesn't launch into personal attacks at a whim and who lowers the level of discourse to take over. I have no idea why the owner of this board continues to have someone so disliked as infantrycak continue to be a moderator. I have repeatedly asked for him to be stripped from being a moderator for the sake of all of us.

You do not know Vinny. He'd chew up your attitude and spit you out, especially for the crap you are throwing at a friend of his. He had no tolerance for it and would use the ban hammer far quicker for things that 'cak either ignores or plays with. Heck, there are bans still in effect for people and IP addresses that were banned years ago by Vinny.

The truth is that attitudes like your's are one of the reasons he no longer posts here.

I never once got banned by Vinny. infantrycak revels in the attention. I am tired of giving it to him. Time to focus on the season ahead and not some shitty moderator. I hope my gut feeling about the season ahead for the Texans ahead is wrong. Go Texans! Beat the Chiefs!

I did not imply that you got banned, but I have no doubt that Vinny would have banned you by now. Trust me. Dude has completely deleted entire accounts. Not just suspended them, but wiped them completely from the forum database (the only thing left would be if someone quoted that member). He was a no-B.S. kinda' guy, and he would have put the hammer down on you for the verbal attacks on one of his mods.

This place is a LOT more lenient than the official board. The fact that you can say the things about 'cak and still be posting is a testament to that fact.

About cak (since everyone else is revealing their innermost thoughts) he can be super annoying because he hardly ever gives in on an argument and he tries to outsmart you at every turn and he will turn the argument around if he feels like he's losing.

Which is, coincidentally, the same damn thing I do. Which is why he can be annoying, because he's really good at it (he should be a lawyer). But it's fun to debate with him because he makes you think and research whatever the hell it is you are gonna say.

Yeah, I'd have a beer with the man.

Dude, what the hell is wrong with you? Cak is annoying, I'll give you that. He and I go round and round (well used to back when I had more time on my hands) all of the time.But he's still a good mod, lets things go long enough and manages to keep people from getting so frustrated that they quit. Did you write his name down on your list or something?

It's not ridicule when it's true. From what I have seen, TexansFight is a godawful poster and fan. If he does leave, good riddance! I certainly won't shed a tear. I have noticed that the people who persistently argue with Cak on a personal level are all asshole posters and I am fairly new here.
 
If someone did everything you asked of them would you fire them? Of course not....and yes Cak is a Jerk but I do so love living in that inflated head of his, rent free.
 
If I ever feel my blood pressure rising or getting upset from reading a post on a sports message board I'll remove all the internets from my house. In 9 years of posting and reading messages on this board, it hasn't happened yet.
 
Its just the internet guys. Some guys have internet personas that rub you the wrong way but IRL you may get a long with them fine. And you can go back and forth with someone on the net and IRL and not carry that over to the next conversation. Just a word of advice, don't take this stuff too seriously.
 
Being a moderator is a thankless job. I enjoyed it at first but I think I might have been the first one to say "I just don't want to do this anymore". I just had this idea that I had to be completely impartial and I couldn't do it. I'm sorry, sometimes a poster is just an asshat and that's all there is to it. Whenever I'd jump somebody's butt and start deleting their stupid-ass flames or off-topic posts I'd check with Vinny and ask if I'd gone too far. Invariably he was like "Nope. That was great!" but I got to where I didn't like doing it. It was more fun in the beginning. Back in the early days everyone was a bit more forgiving and you didn't have as many people wrapped up in how ******* smart they were and how they could see these things no one else did. It gets old and when one self-appointed, imaginary-professional, couch-scout (or coach) starts arguing with another one just like him it gets out of hand much faster. I'd be miserable doing what cak and the rest of them do in here but if they didn't do it this would turn into a heaping pile of manure in no time.

I'd rather talk to a handful of fans who know what they're looking at but don't think they're smarter than everyone else in the room (or in the league) than a room full of experts in the their own minds and I don't want to have to herd either one of them.
 
Some people think being a mod would be cool. I used to, until I became a mod on a Star Trek board in which I presided over debates on which cat model was Data's cat in each episode. They had a list of the cat "actors", and could tell you actual name and sex of the cat in the episodes. Now be a mod here and read the same old bullshit year after year. I'm surprised any of them still have active neurons firing in their brains.

This. Between modding and jack and coke, i tried to kill them off...One those I do more in name only, and the other not at all...go figure lost weight, better job, nicer clothes, etc.
