If he has anything left in the tank, he's certainly worth a look. I worry about his price tag, but if he's 'coming home' to finish his career with a small 2 or 3 year deal he's definitely somebody you want in the clubhouse and in the rotation. I wouldn't sign him with the idea that he's starting though. Crick was coming on really strong at the end of the last year and his arrow is pointing upwards. Smith would add tremendous depth and presence, essentially 'finishing' our defensive line for the next couple of years.
I would think a deal that was $2.5 mil or so a year. Probably not starter but bet the reps would be fairly even with Crick. Actually he could sub for both Watt and Crick. That would be a hell of a DL.

I like the "hurt my teammate and I'll get you back".Offsides....#94 Defense....

I don't know about that. Players "get back" at other players all the time in the course of the game & don't get penalized for it.
I think badboy's point is that Smiff plays the role of sheriff; if you play dirty against my teammates and there will be swift retribution.
It's what a "good teammate" would do

C Stefen Wisniewski's deal with the Jaguars is one year at $2.5 million, source says.
...
Lots of reason to feel that the Jags may not benefit from this move as many would think.

Lions restructure Glover Quin’s deal
Last year, the Lions converted most of safety Glover Quin’s base salary into a signing bonus in order to create some immediate space under the salary cap.
It seems they were pleased with the results because they’ve done it again this year. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Lions converted $3.255 million of Quin’s $4 million salary for the 2015 season into a bonus. Quin had a league-best seven interceptions last season and was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.
Someone refresh my memory. Why did they let him go?

#Titans CB Brandon Harris suffered a torn ACL during today's practice, per source.
#Raiders signed PR/KR Trindon Holliday.
Tim Wright being released by NE today. Houston should consider putting in a claim, though I don't think he will make it to Houston.
The Eagles just released G Evan Mathis
Thanks for the memories Philly.
With the release of Mathis, the 2011 Dream Team signings are now all officially gone.
Pats wanted a veteran QB for camp like they had in the past with Ryan Mallett. Told by several "has nothing to do with Brady situation"
I'm told Patriots and Matt Flynn have agreed to a deal
Wonder what the deal w Evan Mathis is.
Eagles perhaps concerned about injury risk, owing salary.

.
If that were here the story would be about how poorly Garapolo must be doing in camp.
