The AFC East just got stacked

Every team in that division, but NEW ENGLAND just got much better. I'm not even 100% sure that NE wins that division next season considering how much better the other teams seem to have gotten on paper, and how many key pieces on their team were lost.

Bills add McCoy, Harvin, and Rex. Say what you want about Rex, but I think he will have a strong effect on that team in his first year especially. They already have a strong defense, and Cassel should help out at least a little.

Dolphins - They lost all their receivers, but freed up cap space and their receivers weren't doing much any way, so I don't see that as a big loss. Added key pieces including Suh to the defense. I think they're a slightly better team.

NY just needs a QB as well like the other two. Adding WR's to a strong defense that just got the best CB of this generation.

I'm not sure what the hell is wrong with the Patriots to just blow off a ton of their key contributors without adding anyone that is noteworthy. Losing Revis was one thing, but to allow Browner to leave and to completely deplete the CB position was one of the dumbest moves I've ever seen from a veteran SB winning HC. Vereen is replaceable, but they haven't done it even after visits from Reggie Bush and Harvin.

Miami, Buffalo, and NY are all strong teams now without a QB. They're all similar to the Texans. I think the AFC East is the best division in the AFC next season.

Miami traded for kenny stills. The traded mike wallace to the vikes

Yeah, they let Wallace go for nothing. I don't think that depleting their receiving core hurts that much, because they had a terrible passing game any way.

"Without a QB" is the key. Though, I think you're short changing Ryan Tannehill. Got that Matt Schaub .500 smell to him now. But, I think the changes the Fins have made will help him take the next step. I would take him as the Texans QB, right now. Even if that meant trading Brian Hoyer for him.

I would want nothing to do with Tannehill. uuhhhh. Never understood why he shot up the draft boards that year in the first place. He'll never be better than a typical average guy. I think he is right on par with Hoyer honestly.

Year after year the Patriots don't do anything to improve their team. As long as they have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick things are not going to change in that division.

Every year someone says the patriots are not going to win the division and they end up making it to the AFC championship. I wish we could do more with less like the patriots do every year.

I think you hold the minority opinion on that.

Really? Where are all of these people that have faith and confidence in Tannehill? I haven't heard anyone anywhere express admiration in Tannehill other than people that are either Aggie fans or homers from Miami. And I don't hear anyone in Miami bragging on Tannehill. He is an average QB that won't get that team anywhere.

I don't recall anyone saying that in this thread or last year until they were 2-2 which was a pretty dumb idea to count them out.

The Patriots just lost quite a few key pieces though. You don't blow up your CB situation, when you had the one of the best tandems in the league and lose both starters and not feel a sting from that. Teams are going to be throwing a lot on the Patriots just like they were a few years ago when the pats were having to outscore everyone to win. Their defense was the main reason why they couldn't climb the mountain and win a SB for ten years. Well, that and a miracle play or two.

This is not true at all.

Last off season they added the best CB of this generation and also added Browner who was a very good player in the secondary of Seattle's SB winning team. That was a huge improvement to their secondary. They also added Lefell who helped out a little bit in their passing game last season. Their offense improved the most due to their entire unit being fully healthy for the majority of the season though.

I understand what you're saying though about Brady, and I agree with you in theory. Without Brady, the Pats are pretty much an average team from year to year.

Jets putting a lot of resources into the secondary...

Projected positions
#1 CB - Darrelle Revis (2015 free agent, 5yrs/$70M)

#2 CB - Antonio Cromartie (2015 free agent, 4yrs/$32M)

#1 SS - Calvin Pryor(2014 1st round pick)

#1 FS - Marcus Gilchrist (2015 free agent, 4yrs/$??M)

#3 CB - Buster Skrine (2015 free agent, 4yrs/$25M)

#4 CB - Dee Milliner(2013 1st round pick, #9)

#5 CB - Dexter McDougle(2014 3rd round pick)

I'm sure the Bills Offseason Championship will look grand in their trophy case with all their others.

A 4,000+ season on 66% accuracy, 27 TD's to 12 INT's and a 93% rating is what you define as a typical average QB in the NFL?

With the virtually the same number of attempts and yardage as the previous season, he significantly improved completion percentage, average per attempt, TD's, INT's, QBR and Rating.

While his team was average at 8-8, Tannehill put together a very good year.

Numbers on paper aren't bad. I'll give him that, but he isn't scaring anyone. No one cares about going against Tannehill. He is another Andy Dalton at best.

Miami is one of the teams I'm looking at this year. 7 of 8 losses were against playoff teams or teams with winning records. 5 of their 8 wins were again teams with winning records. Decent run game. # 12 overall defense but need help in run defense. Such was brought in. Might be an interesting season for them.

Yeah, I think the entire division has made improvements and are going to be hard teams to beat. That is all I was saying with the thread. I still think the Pats are the team to beat, but the Pats have gotten worse, and the others have gotten better. I think the teams in this division are going to beat the snot out of each other next year.
