15
San Francisco Mario Edwards Jr.* DE/DT Florida State
16
Houston Trae Waynes* CB Michigan State 6010 183 4.53
The Texans’ front seven has elite talent, but the back end needs help. Waynes is a first day starter at left corner if Kareem Jackson is not re-signed.

18
Kansas City Jaelen Strong* WR Arizona State
19
Cleveland f/BUF Malcom Brown* DT Texas
20
Philadelphia Marcus Mariota* QB Oregon 6040 215 4.65
We are unclear how Mariota makes it to the City of Brotherly Love, but the high tech quarterback exchanges one green uniform for another and rejoins his old coach, Chip Kelly.

Kevin White looked like a beast in the draft... would the Giants really take a WR in the first this year?

Sorry... that's gotta be the Jets.

That's only true if we lose KJ or J-Joe. I hope they're doing what needs to be done to keep both.

And how the hell does Mariota make it all the way down to #20?? I don't see him getting past the Jets. Who knows, he might go 1-1.

I said it before the combine and i will say it afterwards, Vic Beasley is the guy for the texans. He has combine numbers as well as college production. He's been consisteny every yr.

Take JJ Watt out of that front 7 seven and what do you have? :swatter:

Watt and Crick I believe are the only DL we currently have signed at the moment.

Do these guys watch any film?

I have to say that after signing Newton I would go one of these guys if the draft fell that way.

Cameron Erving OC/OT Florida State 6054v 313v 5.09v
Instant replacement for Myers.
Malcom Brown* DT Texas 6023v 319v 5.05v
Jordan Phillips* NT Oklahoma 6052v 329v 5.17v
Either of these guys would start and be an improvement. Both can play NT or DE.
Marcus Peters* CB Washington 5115v 197v 4.49v
Williams* CB Florida State 6000v 194v 4.53v
Either Would allow us to let JJO go and use money elsewhere.

But I would not be upset if we went with La'el Collins since he is the best OT in the draft IMO.

After signing Newton, unless Collins starts at center by 2016, I'd go elsewhere. Erving did play center but I thin he go lower

I'm not a fan of starting a rookie at center.
Malcolm Brown or the best WR on the board (I'm assuming AJ is gone) would be my pick. We need a solid starter with that first pick.

Having all those WRs go ahead of us is a nightmare scenario for us IMO. Unless we make a big time FA signing WR is one of the most glaring holes since we have no true #2 behind Hopkins and no real slot receiver.

We really need one of Amari Cooper, Kevin White, Jaelen Strong, or Devante Parker to be available at 16.

As of now, we still have AJ

and one of them should be. Don't forget Texans could trade down, select TE Max Williams & get another high pick. There are good slots in 3rd round. Nuk, Tre McBride 6' 210 4.41 38.5 vert 10.2 broad jump extremely consistent stats in college and Williams could be successfull

Agree, and it would be nice to have a true franchise TE for this team.

Of those 4 Strong is probably the only one left at #16 and I'm not sure he's worth the 16th pick. There's a definite gap between the top 3 and Strong, and it's looking more and more like the top 3 will be long gone at #16. They could trade back a little and probably still pick Strong up.

IDK, top selections fall every year and this is a deep WR draft. Someone that we think will take one of the top 3 may very well decide another position is too good and thin at the top

Even on the outside chance that the big 4 WRs are gone by 16 this is still a very deep draft at the position. B Perriman, D Smith, N Agholor, P Dorsett could all be really good looks in the 2nd.

B Perryma looks like a Hopkins clone. You could also add Locket to that list. Locket is a Reggie Wayne clone.

I love Lockett. Just thinking if we were eyeing any of those guys as a no. 2 we'd have to grab em in the 2nd to be sure, while I think Lockett could be had in the 3rd.

Lockett is my top slot in the draft. Reminds me so much of Hilton. Guy can take the top off a defense, return kicks/punts, and has an innate understanding of the WR position. He knows how to get open without even using his speed. Add in his speed and that's what makes him almost impossible to cover.

"OUrlads" needs to produce a post FA mock, priorities have changed for lots of team including the Texans.

Any chance we take two WRs in the draft? One outside guy and one slot?

If a good one is there, I don't see why not. We're doing well at eliminating urgency at other positions like safety and QB. We really are in a position to draft best available. I can't think of any position where the best available wouldn't help this team.

I think so, one mock I am working I take Strong #16, SLot/returner McBride in third and Goodley (Houston) with a comp in sixth.

I played around with drafting ONLY WR in the draft. But I didn't like the results.

16
Houston DeVante Parker WR Louisville 6025v 209v 4.42v
Andre Johnson is now playing for the Colts. Parker is an excellent athlete with long frame and strong body control. Very good at catching poorly thrown passes. Uses his length to shield off defenders well and makes a majority of his catches when in a contested state. Tracks deep balls well and catches them in stride smoothly.Above average short area quickness once he is moving. Is physical and aggressive with the ball in his hands, often looking for extra yards.
