I'm starting to do more WR research for later rounds and the more I read and see this guy I am really impressed.

I know, I know, buyer beware - Texas Tech Mike Leech offense, etc. but I think he's more than just a product.

I don't watch Wash State as much as some of you guys, but I've been reading on him and checking some highlight reels (my film) and I've liked what I've seen as a potential 3rd round pick (Walter F has this guy in the 4th+ - Hell yeah I'll take him there!).

Can someone more educated on this guy and his pro prospects educate me?

Thanks!

He's one of my draft crushes this year. Has been ridiculously underrated by the draftnik community all season long. I have him rated as a 2nd rounder. Guy has all the physical tools to be dominant at the next level and he's only played football for 3 years (2 at Wazzou and 1 at CC). I see the next Andre when I watch him play.

Only questions I have are route running and adjusting to a pro system. Physically he's not any different from DeVante Parker.

The pros on Mayle, he's a beast physically. He's worked very hard to become one of the top WRs in the Pac-10 in a very short time. He has upside.

The cons are, Mayle still raw as a receiver. He's old for a draft prospect (will be 24 as a NFL rookie). Has better straight line speed than football speed.

Mayle will probably come into the league as a 4th WR, learning all of the positions. He's the kind of guy who would be willing and able to help on special teams. In a year or 2, Mayle could develop into someone that can factor in an offense.

If you're looking for an NFL comparison, Mohamed Sanu would be a good one. Big, physical guy who broke into the league as special teamer and worked his way into a starting position. He was a late 3rd rounder, so 3rd-4th round sounds about right for Mayle.

Great Post

I like Mayle in the 4th rd.

He's definitely very talented. Sanu is a great comp. He needs work on his route running. The reason I've got him in the 4th is that while he can run it takes him awhile to build up speed and he's not quick out of his breaks.

I know absolutely nothing about the guy and I'm not going to look up a bunch of stuff and pretend that I do.
