Texans Playoff Picture

You know what i find FUNNY, the colts beat the texans last week (MIND YOU OUR PUNTER WAS WARMING UP TO PLAY QB THAT GAME) and not even 10 minutes later there were 3 blogs on espn praising luck, hailing him as a football god. BUT TONIGHT after the stomping they took from Dallas not ONE SINGLE blog has been written about the colts.

I hate the Colts more than I hate the Cowboys and Titans.

I think the NFL schedulemakers got it right this year. Heavy on the division games in December makes for a much more exciting season.

Very few clinches before this weekend, AFC North won't be decided until next Sunday night, when the Bengals may very well be completely out of it, or they might win the division.

I'm not positive, but I believe a few years back the NFL mandated that there could only be division games played in Week 17 for that very reason, to make things exciting until the very end. I know ever since 2010 the Texans have finished up with a division opponent.

Wait a second.... I'm confused.......

I thought we were out of the playoffs in week 6 when we lost to the colts at home?

We won a few games since then...

everyone's allowed to be a bit wishy-washy... :kitten:

Except Ben Tate, no wishy-washy fandom for him

If we sneak into the playoffs would you rather play Steelers or Colts?

the colts I want the first time we win in INDY be a playoff game LOL !!!!

there is also a chance we play Ciny to has well

But yeah I want the colts Im starting to hate them with a Passion !!!!!

IF the Texans get in, it will be as the #6 seed. The first game will be at Pittsburgh or at Cincy. IF they win that game, the next one would either be at New England or Denver.

I like our chances! Super Bowl, here we come!

I know if we make the playoffs Might has well win the SB

guess I might need to make a last min trip to Denver or Boston ... hmmm

Regardless what happens next week, I consider this season to be a success

Right on, man. I agree completely. O'Brien has restored my ability to start believing in our team again.

I was more referring the football God's smiling on the Texans. We all know they hate Houston.

I'm starting to be a football god atheist....unless the Texans go to the playoff this season, then I'll be at service on Sunday... :shades:

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that feels this way. I have grown ambivalent about the Cowboys over the years. I really don't have a reason to "hate" them. And I'll never like the Titans for a variety of reasons, but since Bud died, they are just another team like the Jags.

That said, I straight up despise the Colts. :cutthroat:

You can put me in this camp too. I could careless about the Cowboys and their DB fans. The Titans are so horrible, it just feels icky to keep kicking them when they're down. The Colts, on the other hand, I truly despise. They threw a season to get Luck after they lost Peyton, and won't even own up to it. They get the benefit of officiating (or lack there of) every damn time, and they broke Fitz's foot with a dirty play (tripped him). I'm glad the Cowboys took it to them yesterday. If the Texans do make the playoffs, I hope they somehow end up facing off with them again and do them Cowboy style.

Everyone realizes San Diego was in virtually the same position last year as we are this year right? And they got in

I'm quite sure a drumming by the 3-12 Jags can change that. Not to say that it's going to happen, just that it would change things.

Nah, I'll be pissed off and may need a new tv, but the season will still have been a success considering the disaster we had last year

Considering the 4-12 Jags swept the Texans in 2013, I'd say this season is a positive regardless of next week's outcomes.

I've got nothing but optimism right now about the Texans in 2015. I think O'Brien is the right man for the job.

Right where I'm at. The sun is shining and the birds are singing this morning.

First game will be at Indy if Bengals beat Steelers.(Bengals win AFC North, Colts win the South but Colts have tiebreaker over Bengals so they'd get 3 seed.)

If Steelers win then it'll be at Pittsburgh.(Win gives them AFC North title and 3 seed due to tiebreaker over Colts)

Only way we'd play @ Cincy is if Tennessee upsets Indy.

Week 17 ahead and you guys are talking...

Glad all the deciding games are early ones.....hate waiting.

I'm glad all the deciding games are played at the same time, and no one has the advantage of knowing exactly whether they have something to play for or not.

I can see KC beating San Diego, but unfortunately I can't see Cleveland beating Baltimore.

The fact that we're even talking about playoffs at Christmas is a huge compliment to Bill O'Brien. I was unconvinced when we hired him, but I'm a confirmed believer now. 9-7 with the hot-mess we've had at QB is amazing: fix that and this team can go places.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!! :brickwall:

With Johnny Manziel's hamstring and Brian Hoyer injuring his shoulder, rookie Connor Shaw could start against Ravens
Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer suffered a right shoulder injury during Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Panthers and will be evaluated day-to-day, a league source confirmed.

The injury could thrust rookie quarterback Connor Shaw into the starting lineup for Sunday's season finale in Baltimore.

With Johnny Manziel suffering a pulled hamstring late in the first half, the Browns are expected to activate Shaw, the undrafted free agent from South Carolina, off the practice squad.

With the top two quarterbacks ailing, Shaw could very well get the start for the 7-8 Browns. He's been on their practice squad all year...

I think OB has done a pretty good job , still a few thing's I'm critical of but for the most part he's exceeded expectations.

As for optimism going into 2015 .... I think that has to be tempered at least until we know who's under center.
Fitz isn't going to be any better , Savage I have no faith in and after watching him & Keenum the past couple weeks I wonder why Savage wasn't cut instead .... Mallett still has an unknown factor but his accuracy issues are a big concern.
Then you have the FA pile & the possibility of drafting a QB and the way things look now , Hundley may be in play when they pick.

Talk to me about optimism after the draft.

we might not draft a QB in the first round we will continue to add to the Defense o get some elite Tackle or WR in round 1

lose twice in a row to teams with first string QB's signed off the practice squad.

Johnny Manziel will miss the Cleveland Browns' season finale at Baltimore with the hamstring injury that sidelined him in Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Manziel's season ends with 18 completions on 35 passes for 175 yards on 15 drives and roughly seven quarters of NFL play.

Brian Hoyer is questionable with a shoulder injury suffered in the second half Sunday, prompting the Browns to elevate undrafted rookie Connor Shaw from the practice squad. Shaw will get significant first-team reps this week, coach Mike Pettine said, and the Browns also could sign a backup.

Can it happen? Sure.
Will it? Highly unlikely, especially with the Browns.

No way the Ravens lose to PS QB's back to back weeks.

Case played better than I expected after one week with
the team. The Shaw kid won't be so lucky.

Who knows, maybe Flacco gets some bad Tandoori, or
Forsett develops uncontrolled narcolepsy ..

It would take something like that.. But I do have my fingers
crossed.

I actually feel better about our chances, a unknown to the defense. Someone with something to prove ! I'm feeling better about our chances than i did with Johnny No so much Football starting !

I'm with you there. Regardless of the unknown factor - Shaw looked a lot brighter than Johnny Money did in preseason. If they had both been undrafted I think that Shaw would have been their backup QB this year anyway.

Keep the faith! :cow:
