Texans re-sign Keenum

Keenum signed? That tells us more than Obie will tell us directly. Savage is out for the last 2 games. Now we won't even beat Jax.

For this entire season, we've had 3 QBs on the roster. With Fitzpatrick out, we're down to 2. I would have expected we sign Keenum at this point regardless of whether Savage's knee keeps him out of the last two games or not.

But, yeah, I'm not going to be surprised at 7-9. It's been a good run to this point. OB's done a good job.

Signing Keenum just tells me that we need a back up QB & the guy we picked up to run the scout team ain't it.

Not sure why anyone is surprised or getting too worked up by this. He knows the system...he was available...we needed a third guy.

I think people get worked up based on emotion.

There were a lot of UH folks who were cheering on Case because he's a Cougar. If he messed up, they came up with excuses.

There were also a lot of folks who would rather see Case fail and the Texans lose just so they can say I told you so. They like to cite he is 0-10 as a starter like baseball pitchers get wins and losses.

The Case people and the non-Case people quickly grew to dislike each other.

Both groups are thinking with emotion and not logic.

John McClain is going to be insufferable this week. The guy is obsessed with the "home town guy doing well" narrative, and he's going to be smug and condescending about Keenum all this week. Furthermore, Kubiak is returning with Baltimore, so we'll have to listen to him, and other members of the local media, gushing about what a nice guy Kubiak is, blah, blah, blah.

Ugh.

Sorry, but a "good job?" The only professional football coaches in this town to have done a good job was Lou Rymkus and Wally Lemm, with two championships, and even those have an asterisk beside them...53 years ago!

The only expectable good job is to bring a Superb Owl trophy to this town. Otherwise, it's a... :faildetector:

haha no i did not read any of it, shocked there is no keenum love around. NFL Not For Long i suppose.

You gotta go to the Chron for that. Lots of people there that believe it's a foregone conclusion that Keenum will start, win the next two games, and be retained as the starter for next season's SB run. There will be a lot of boo boo lips if/when Thad Lewis trots onto the field as the starter.

OB has taken a 2 win team and has done a good job with what he has. I think people expect immediate turn arounds and super bowl runs in 1 year's time with the lack of talent that Rick Smith has surround this team with.

I love the way some people jump to conclusions. Instant QBs are as good as instant coffee. You get better if you spend a little time and brew it with good water.

Some people prefer Sanka. I would pass.

Jumping to conclusions? I don't recall saying Lewis is the answer. I believe I called him the "unknown". Which is better than what we know we have in Keenum.

Eh, not sure why I even answered after noticing who I'm replying to

If you "know" what Case Keenum is after 8 games then you should "know" what Thad Lewis is after his 6 games.

I'm just a bit more patient with people than you are. I don't even have to insult you in my response.

Not in completely different systems. Case has considerably more experience in OB's system than Lewis.

That was back when my childhood had been destroyed by Oilers football and I wasn't a fan of the Texans yet.

We sucked at everything in 2013, I still can't bring myself to judge Keenum worth based on that dumpster fire.

I doubt he starts, but if he did it would finally put the Keenum debate to rest for good, one way or another.

If you take Case's numbers from last year and apply them to this year he would be a middle of the pack NFL starting QB.

So, being pulled in from another team in week 15 and thrust into the starters role with little practice with his new team will be a fair evaluation?

You are old, you pesky ole coot.

I know, you older than dirt grouch. Let's get Obsiwan and sit on the porch

BTW, the above pic needs to be turned into a smilie called :thorn:

Something is wrong with this city when you've got two worthless QBs (neither good enough for St. Louis) to choose from & you pick the kid not from Houston.

Looking forward to Case maybe at least bringing a little excitement.

We have little chance to win these last two, but maybe they can go have some fun.

Lots of love in from me for Keenum, thats because he is a Texan and wearing the uniform.

If he starts i want him to destroy the Ravens. As i wouls any other player.

If that means he puts himself in with a shot for next year great.
Same goes for Lewis.

I want to apologize for saying this. It was rude and unacceptable

Again, what reputation is that which would make a FA not want to come to the Texans?

I've heard that most premier players read message boards a lot and when they are considering signing somewhere the order of consideration is this:

1. Local fan opinion of the GM's mental aptitutde
2. Fan opinion of GM's draft history
3. Fan approval rating of GM overall
4. GM's ties to other organizations
5. Refusal to draft players from Colorado
6. The frequency with which fans confuse the first name of the GM with that of a former DC
7. Team success
8. Money

Don't know why you don't get that. You're such a moron Cak.

Mike

Don't know where you heard that, I certainly never have. Do you really think that the players put fans opinions well above money and success?

Oh I get it. You were being facetious and just trolling :troll:
