Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts. 12/14. Noon. CBS. **Official Gameday Thread**

Adam Wexler ‏@awexler
#Colts w/ fewest points (17) and yards (278) they've had the entire season, also lose turnover battle, but beat #Texans 17-10.

Do we beat the Ravens and Jaguars at home the next two games to finish 9-7 or will we lose to the Ravens with them still playing hard to make the playoffs. Either way, 9-7 or 8-8, not a big difference in terms of draft positioning. We need a good off-season. The Texans played hard in 2014. They pretty much lost to all playoff contenders (most by one score), except the loss to the Giants on the road, who are a deceivingly bad team this season, because they have a two-time Super Bowl champion head coach and quarterback.

This team needs a QB, free agency doesn't look good, and Maryotta may have won the heisman but doesn't look worth trading up for.

Screwed for 2-3 more years.

That's because the officials didn't want to count Foster's TD. They sure like to kill the momentum.

We need some good fortunes in 2015. Keeping our best players healthy would help. Andre Johnson and Arian Foster missed some games we maybe could have won if they had played. Jadeveon Clowney: I want to see him contribute next season. As well as Louis Nix III. We can discuss the off-season now and the draft. What pick will we have at 9-7 or 8-8? Or even 7-9 but I doubt we'll lose to the Jaguars the final game if we play as hard as we played today. I think we can beat the Ravens and Jaguars at home if we play like today to finish 9-7. Is that the 18th to 20th pick or so?

I wish yall would quit blaming the officials for everything. Yes, they miss plays. But we aren't good enough to beat the Colts on a regular basis, and until we are, we're still on the outside looking in.

It ain't the frigging officials fault we don't have a good football team.

I'd bring in Brian Hoyer if the Browns don't re-sign him. He could be the hottest free agent quarterback. Too much unknowns with the health of Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ryan Mallett. I like Tom Savage learning as a backup going into next season. Robert Griffin III or Sam Bradford (coming off injury), if either becomes available, is worth a look if nothing else. For the right price they could be had in a trade.

we just want a fair playing field

There are missed calls every game. Both for and against us. If we were a better team than Indy we'd have beat them. As far as I can see, we are one QB away from mastering this division because Indy can be had by our defense.

I usually don't like to but some calls were clear even a high school ref couldn't miss. The holds on Watt were so bad that the refs didn't want to call them for some reason. Looking at this game we are not that bad of a football team compared to the Colts.

I don't want to think rationally right now :pissed:

Drew Dougherty ‏@DoughertyDrew
O'Brien: we called plays he was comfortable with, he settled down in 2nd half. Threw nice deep ball.

Brian T. Smith ‏@ChronBrianSmith
O'Brien said he felt bad for Fitzpatrick. ... Told team he was very proud of them for fighting.

Savage limping in locker room

Tom Savage’s knee is the next big discussion. Would not be surprised if Thad Lewis and one maybe two new QBs are here next week. #Texans

Adam Wexler ‏@awexler
#Texans starting QBs last 4 seasons:
2014:3 (or more)
2013:2
2012:1
2011:3
Colts in 2011:3 (went 2-14, got Luck who's started 46 straight)

Stay classy Texans fans

I wish the refws would stay classy and let us play the colts on an equal playing field, we lost our starter on a Trip no flag, and we possibly lost our rookie on a low hit to the knee no flag.

****ing Bull ****

Who is at fault?

That holding call was BS and the Colts try to take out Savage's knee, no call. Typical Indy home cooking.

Of course they miss call no doubt, but the Colts Oline looks all pro because they tackle every other play. That has a huge impact on the game, otherwise why even call penalties.

As fans we sugar coat what our team gets away with and exaggerate what our opponent gets away with. However you can't say they don't make a difference, that's BS.

I'm the first to b!tch about he refs, I want to pull for my team, however the games in Indy always visibly tip the Colts way. They call the Colts for the blatantly obvious stuff like the offsides, but the subjective stuff gets ignored. We did get our one call against the Colts Oline for holding but that's it.

The Colts jumped the snap a couple of other times with no calls.

Aw for christs sakes. It's all the officials fault because we had jack **** at the QB position to start this season, isn't it? It's all the officials fault because our number one draft choice can't ****ing play. It's all the officials fault be we have a crappy GM. And it's probably all the officials fault that gay marriage is legal and pot smoking isn't.

****. Yall need to grow a pair and realize we are going to be an 8-8 or less team this year AND THAT ISN'T THE ****ING OFFICALS FAULT.

Christ. What a bunch of ****ing crybabies. Yeah, some really horrible calls (and non-calls) went against the Texans today. But if our offense had put up 30 frigging points it wouldn't have ****ing mattered.

**** it. Yall just keep on blaming the officials when the real problem is within the organization.

The NFL doesn't want to discourage holding in pass protection, because they want all the star QBs who throw the ball 40x a game to stay healthy... There is no such concern on running plays. Therefore, minor holds get called on a run and blatant holds are ignored in pass protection. It is one more frustrating hurdle to deal with as a team without a franchise QB playing a team with one.

I don't blame the officals for the LOSS i blame them for not calling a fair game which may or may not have affected the out come of the game.

They get a TD called back on a very questionable holding call, very questionable compared to what the Colts did to JJ all day, and they still just lose this game by 7.

No, it's not the refs fault we're 7-7, but you can't say they can't be the difference in a game, especially a close game.

If that had been a Texan that went into Luck's knee like the Colts did to Savage, it would have seen a flag. I know it, YOU know it, everybody knows it. A flag there gives the Texans a 1st down in Colts territory, instead of 3rd and 3 at their own 39. That changes things. Maybe the Texans still go on to lose, but the refs never gave us a chance to find out.

So yeah, you're right, refs miss calls all the time and they aren't the reason we're .500, but don't act like they don't/can't make a difference in individual games, including today's.
