Or... who do you think will get fired & which team do you believe will present the best opportunity?
I hadn't thought about it, but I heard Greg & Kalu talking about the Falcons possibly firing Mike Smith. So I got to thinking, which jobs might open up & which job would be a great place for a new coach (or rethread).
NYJets - I think it's extremely likely that they'll part ways with Rex Ryan. I don't think this would be an attractive job. You've got all the pressure of being a "New York" team, but you're always second fiddle to the Giants... & the Yankees, & the Mets.
Atlanta - I didn't realize Mike Smith has been there for 6 years & have had moderate success. I remember hearing a few years ago that in that teams entire history, it is only recently that they had ever put together back to back winning seasons. Of course, I don't know they'll fire Mike Smith, but I can see it.
SF - Sounds like their having FO issues, similar to the issues that sent them into a tailspin after T.O., Mooch, & Walsh.
Carolina - It's been 4 years for Ron Rivera, they've shown flashes... is it enough?
New York Giants - It's been a long time coming for Tom Coughlin hasn't it?
Pittsburgh - They don't fire their head coaches very often to begin with. However, if they miss the play-offs again, I think it could happen. But I think it's not very likely that they'll miss the play-offs, but just in case.
Anyone else?
