Texans VS Bengals....Lets Predict ;)

EllisUnit

Vote RED!!!
Mallet shows the NFL who the next elite QB is and makes the Colts gasp for air as they see they are doomed for the next 10+ years.

Texans 41
Bengals 24

Mallet 375 yds 4 TDs
AJ 136 yards 3 TDs
Hopkins 115 yards 1 TD
Watt 2 Sacks, 1 FF, 1 block

I predict it's going to be loud @NRG (with the roof closed & all) from kick-off. & every time they flash Jj Watt on the big screen, they'll kick it up a notch. The Texans are going to do their thing, the noise is going to help discombobulate the Bengals.... We're going to give up some big plays, we're going to make some big plays. It's going to be a great game & a great atmosphere.... if you can, be there. You won't regret it.

You throw me off, with all that and then your ending

We're going to give up some big plays

Good Andy shows up and dinks/dunks down the field for some long drives.

Texans have a hard time stopping the run, adding to the time of possession challenge.

Mallett will appear more in synch with his WR's and the offense will look much smoother.

TE's become more involved which translates to more TD's and less FG's.

Close game but Texans come out ahead 27-24

 Thanks for the chuckle, man. Goes good with my first cup of coffee in the morning

I love the smell of optimism in the morning.

Finally, the game i've been waiting for !!!

Honestly, I don't know what to expect and it's been that way from week to week with my Bengals. Which Dalton shows up ?? 2.0 passer rating or the 3 TD, no pick Dalton ?? I really think it has to start up front, but I think that all the time.

If the Bengals can pass protect well enough and give Dalton time, I like our chances in this one. The concern for me (as with every team) is JJ Watt. We still don't know if our starting RT (Smith) will be playing and Marshall Newhouse has had some real problems filling in for him.

The Bengals running game is very solid and they have a bunch of RB's with Jeremy Hill really coming on strong lately. I don't think Bernard makes it back for this game, but they have other options that have done well.

AJ Green is finally healthy and last week he was simply HUGE in that game. Sanu is able to take some of the pressure off of Green and Gresham (while unspectacular) can have a large impact if he decides he's interested.

The defense still has some concerns with the linebackers with Burfict being out, but we got Maualuga back last week and he had a stellar game stopping the run. The biggest reason they have struggled against the run is because both Maualuga and Thompson missed many games. Both are back and Atkins and Peko are really fired up about it. They shut down the Saints rushing attack quite easily.

The secondary has also taken some injury hits lately, but is still a VERY solid unit. Thinking they are good for giving up 4 passing TD's in a game might be getting a little ahead of yourselves.

The Texans on the otherhand are a team that i've been talking about for a while with my 8 year old son being such a fan. Fitzpatrick was never and I mean EVER going to lead this team to a winning season. You simply don't have one of the worst seasons in the league, plug in Fitzpatrick and think things will improve.

I like that they got Mallett and I hope he does really well for them. He might not be the brightest bulb, but he sure has an arm and looked like he knew the offense well enough against the Browns. JJ Watt is, well, JJ Watt. I don't think I really need to go there. I just hope he doesn't kill Dalton.

While i'm rooting for and thinking the Bengals win the game (of course), this will be one game I won't mind seeing them take a loss if it happens. My son would go absolutely crazy seeing them beat the Bengals in his first game there at the stadium and wouldn't let me hear the end of it for a long time. There's something so amusing about hearing your 8 year old talking mess to you about football. It just does the heart good.

Can't wait to get down there and have a good time at the game !!!
Good luck and here's to no injuries !!!

This is my weekly sun shine pumping prediction thread, i give my homer opinion everyone else gives logical opinions. It is what it is :bat:

We beat the Bengals the last time because Maualuga (even though he was the LB I wanted) can't match up with the RB & TEs in the passing game. Great downhill player, I think, but we exposed that weakness in him before. I hope it's part of the game plan come Sunday.

Won't disagree that the last time we played Maualuga didn't play well, but he's also not used in the same way anymore. Rey is being used in the way that I always envisioned him and has had a very nice season, minus his time missed to injury. I don't expect them to suddenly change what they do with him this Sunday.

I really wanted him coming out of USC as well, but up until this season I haven't had a reason to think much of him as a player. I hope 2014 Rey continues and everything before then is a learning point.

Burifct being out is the biggest challenge for us though. People can say what they want about him, but he's never been a problem off the field, quite the opposite actually, and is a beast when he's on it. If he could learn to pick his head up, he'll be even better. Knee injuries suck.

I have not been to a game in 23 months, but will be making the 166 mile pilgrimage to Reliant this Sunday.

JJ Watt, MVP:swatter:

Let's do this

This is my annual upset special in our favor. It won't even be close.
Houston 30
Cin City 3

considering the Texans are 2-0 against the Bungles in the last 3 years (yea I know its the playoffs but still) I'm going with the home town boys...

Texans - 30
Bungles - 17

Mallet throws for 320 and 2 TDs, Foster runs for 85 and a TD and Fat Randy kicks 3 FGs...

3-0 we beat them to secure our first AFC South title

31-21

Mallet 2td-2int 245 yards

Foster 150 2 Td's

Bengals Run D is bad and Foster owns them.

Expecting Dalton to have an ok day.

Advantage Texan Crowd!

We'll win. Unfortunately Lechler slips on one of Bullock's jelly doughnuts and is out for the season. We put in Fitz to punt.

Mallet 224 - Bungles - 0.

After throwing for 25 TD passes, Mallet is replaced with Toro at half time as to not run up the score on the hapless Dalton's. Toro manages to bull his way for two more scores in the second half with JJ Watt as lead blocker.

:cow:

17-31 Texans. We own those tiger cubs and it won't be any different this time around. Dalton is scared to death of Watt and he will sh!t the bed again this Sunday because of it.

Go Texans!

If anyone is going to be punting in Lieu of Lechler, it's going to be :swatter:

And he surprisingly does well.

If we have Foster back for this game I'd feel a lot better. Not that Blue didn't do great, but Arian feasts off of Cincy.

I like Houston to win 28 to 10. Dalton is due for a fumble and a int AT LEAST,

What do you mean "due" ?? You make it sound like that's something that has never happened with Dalton. :littlelol:

Sounds like some hatred for the Bengals here. What have they ever done to you guys except lose in the playoffs ??

How's that pass defense going these days ??
No one has given up less passing TD's than the Bengals this season.

Talk about our rushing defense all day, because that is my concern. I'm hoping to see more of what I saw against the Saints, but this Bengals team is FAR from anything resembling "consistent".

Fitz mishandles his first snap as punter and the ball hits the turf. His beard grabs the loose ball and kicks the ball so hard it explodes. It'll happen. Count on it.

That's only because it is so easy to run on you guys, hell we had the #1 rushing D a few years back and worst passing D. The two go hand in hand.

This one will be a battle. I predict It'll go back and forth and last second heroics will determine this one. I'm not predicting a winner ...YET

...

Low scoring game with a narrow Texans win.

"The Texas Hammer" comes back to earth a bit, but
the Bengals aren't really any good (and very erratic)

Okay, Dalton will look DECENT for a quarter...Texans defense will wake up then make him their b-yatch. Texans win this one by seven. Bengals defense will be putting in some work but Mallet will catch them slipping in the fourth quarter.

Interesting draft note to Bengals/Texans this week ... With their 2nd-rounder in 2011, Bengals were down to two QBs: Andy Dalton and Ryan Mallett.

We've owned Cincy over the past few seasons so I say we win.

27-13

Watt - 1.5 sacks
Mallett - 19-27 for 279 yards, 2 TD's and 1 INT.

The Bengals are playing very inconsistent, but if you catch them on a day when they decide to have their head in the game, they are a very dangerous team. They've lost a lot on offense and have managed their way through (and still are) on the defensive side of the ball.

Dalton lost both Marvin Jones and Tyler Eifert on offense. That would be huge on any offense in the league to lose guys that play those spots.

I'm going with the Texans on this one. Being a home game, I think plays to the strengths of the Texans but also plays into the head of Dalton. This is his hometown, and he wants to impress, so he presses a little too hard, holds on to the ball for a big play a little too long, and he meets J.J. Watt...again (remember that pick 6 by J.J. in the first playoffs?)

The crowd is going to be into this one. The defense is going to be fired up. Foster is day-to-day, but I expect him to play and share the rock with Blue. Mallett will take care of the ball, realizing that he doesn't have to put the team on his back but rather play smart football with good decisions.

Foster- 20-100 0,TD's 5 catches for 58 yds 1 TD

AJ 7-100 ) TD's
Hopkins 5- 75) 1,Td
TE' 2-25 O Td's
Fat Randy 3-4 FG's

All of this with the significant injuries on both sides of the ball add up to

Texans 23
Bengals 6
