One week wonder?

DCs don't have film on him?

Is he worth a waiver pick-up?

I'm looking at Jacksonville WR Allen Hurns, NYJets RB Chris Ivory, & Cincy PK Mike Nugent.

I'll be dumping Bernard Pierce, but I can start a WR in his place. Eventually I'll be needing a PK, week 10. Not a big priority, I've got Nick Novak now, but wondering if I can upgrade that position.

With rice being dumped, pierce is worth having. He didn't look bad in a part time role last year. I'd hold him for a couple of weeks personally before moving on.

He struggled, then he fumbled the ball. I hear, the Ravens weren't too happy with him from last season & he's lucky to have a job.

There was no Ray Rice yesterday & Justin Forsette got the bulk of the carries.

Then I will feel crunchy if he turns it on later in the season & Chris Ivory doesn't have as good a game as he did yesterday.

Are you in the TexansTalk FFL that Vinny set up? And is this pick up for that league??
Oh Hurns..??
You wouldn't be interested in him

.....they all suck. Especially stay away from Hurns; he'll probably never catch another pass this year...
:D

Guys on the WW I would look at:

Justin Forsett - Ravens, RB
Isiah Crowell/Terrance West - Browns RB's
Antone Smith/Jacquizz Rogers - Falcons RB's
Allen Hurns - Jacksonville WR
Rod Streater - Raiders WR
Markus Wheaton - Steelers WR
Andrew Hawkins - Browns WR
Brandin Cooks - Saints WR
Dwayne Allen - Colts TE
Delanie Walker - Titans TE
Houston DST
Tampa DST
Jacksonville DST
New Orleans DST (Depending on if Jordan Cameron plays)

These are some of the guys available in my 10-man league, you guys in 12 and 16 team leagues will have to adjust accordingly.

So none of these guys had a fluky good game? You expect more of the same from all of them?

Wow. How'd they go undrafted?

I think a lot of times people are chasing last weeks touchdowns. Instead they should be chasing talent and opportunity.

in other news, it's a bad week when jamal charles and doug martin combine for less then 9 points.

Some of em to be considered flukes but I think that these aren't bad guys to look at if you are looking to add guys who at least did decently well, and may have injuries or whatever happened to guys in front of them on the chart.

Well it looks like Hurt is going to be a starter... He & Henne seem to hit it off. Do you believe they. An do it again or once tape is out they'll return to Earth?

God bless you if this is true. Submitted a waiver wire pickup for him just now. Dropping trash from my team, so it doesn't really hurt me to pick him up and I can dump him later if not true anyway.

Same thing here, not like I needed a crappy back up defense anyway!

I picked up Hurns in my CBS Sports FFL. I didn't see anyone on the Jags' roster that stood out so if he and Henne are clicking, why not.
Swapped him out for Benny Cunningham, RB/Rams.
I already have Foster, Sproles, A. Morris, and Grimes; didn't really need 5 RBs.
Your mileage may vary

Honestly I would've sent Grimes and kept Cunningham. Even though the Rams offense is a disaster, I don't think Grimes is going to get too much work right now.

Yeah, I thought about that. I was thinking that Grimes would get some goal line touches and maybe be the guy if Foster goes down.
I don't know what to make of Cunningham/Stacy situation in St. Louis.
I thought we were snakebit. First they lose Bradford before the season even starts. Now Shaun Hill is gimpy. Keenum may yet get to start up there.

Well Stacy either got injured or was just terrible I'm not sure which, but I think Cunningham has stashability for sure.

"We'll go with the hot hand", which means RBBC for now.

I hope everyone listened to me say to pick up Josh Gordon if he's available, he's pretty much guaranteed to be playing at some point this season.

https://twitter.com/MikeCairns5/status/509724996546359296

Well, that tweet's about 6 hours old as I type this, and if Ed's reporting the vote has occurred, he's the only one doing it that I can find. In fact, Rapaport says it's sometime in the next few days.
Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 2h

Player reps will spend the next 24 hours reviewing details on drug policy issues. If all goes well, vote in next few days — before Sunday

Plus, he indicates it may not be as cut and dry for Gordon as for some.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet · 2h

Every 2014 league year suspension will be reviewed, if deal is approved. Josh Gordon failed his drug test in 2013, so wait and see on him.

I can't believe there is a league he wasn't drafted in.

Plenty of people had no idea who he was that are only casual football fans. He was drafted in my league and then dropped because the guy wanted to roster 2 defenses on week 1.

That guy is a dummy.

I picked him up last Saturday when rumors that a new drug policy were floating about. It's a long shot, but if you have a reserve roster spot, why not?

Yup, but now it's looking like he'll be out 10 games or so so he'd only be useful for playoffs if one were to get there.

I'm pretty close to panic mode.

My QBs are Tom Brady & Russell Wilson. neither of them have played the kind of game I need from my QB to have me in the running for most points for the week.

This week, Brady & Wilson are projected to score more points than the available Free Agents in my league. But, I have a feeling Rivers will have a better game.

Should I stay the course, thinking Brady/Wilson will have the better season overall, or should I go for someone like Rivers, or Flacco who might have a better game this week?

What are you worried about? TB is up against the Raiders today. He should be fine.

come to think of it, I should probably play Ridley today.
:D

I'd drop Brady, he's no longer a great fantasy QB. I'd get Rivers in a heart beat.

I find it hard to believe that Rivers is still available.
And I wouldn't drop Brady, I'd drop Wilson FF-wise, Brady still puts up stats more reliably than Russell Wilson. Seattle's engine is Beast Mode and Percy Harmon, N.E.'s engine is still Brady.

I think one of my biggest "Fantasy" problems is that I put too much faith in the past. Are we sure Brady is still Brady? Would it not be amazing if he were to develop his WRs again this year like he did last? Or should we expect him to?

I waited on Brady all last year to put up points and he failed all year. This season he's put up 12 points in both games in my league. He doesn't have many receiving weapons outside of Gronk and Pats RBs are out scoring Brady all the time. Look at Wilson's and Brady's and rivers' stats this and last year and you can easily see who the best fantasy QBs are.

I think we must have different FF strategies. I don't depend on my QBs carrying the scoring load. That's what my RBs are for. If I can get 10-15 pts out of my QB, that's fine by me. My RBs, Shady McCoy and G. Bernard in one league and Darren Sproles and Alfred Morris in the other are the engines that drive my team. I do try to match my QBs with one or two of their fave targets; i.e., the team where Brady is my QB I also drafted Edleman and Ridley (swing player) to get double pts if I'm lucky.
:D

They totally destroyed the Vikings last week and Brady's output still sucked. More because of how much better they were than the competition than in spite of it.

Right... my question was if what we've seen thus far will carry on throughout the year. The first part of your post told me what I needed to know, you waited on him all year & it never happened.

I think we must have different FF strategies. I don't depend on my QBs carrying the scoring load. :D

I expect my QB to score favorably compared to the QBs on the other teams. When we've got Jay Cutler scoring 30 points, I can't have a QB scoring 11.

Why not have a QB that puts up 20+ and have RBs that do the same? I have Gio and McCoy and Stafford. I've gone up against Ryan in week one and Rodgers week 2 and only won because I had Stafford in week 1 put up 30 and Dalton in 2 put up 21. If I sat with Brady I'd have lost both. I'd prefer to get max points from all positions.

So say we all.
But Peyton, Brees, Rivers, Matt Ryan, Stafford, and Dalton were all gone by the time I got to pick (like 10 or 11th). So I had to go with this alternate strategy. Believe it or not (and you probably do) I got Brady in the 3rd.

And my luck with QBs sucks. I had RGIII.

Fair enough. Brady burned me hard last year so I avoid him like the plague!

Belichick passed on Alshon Jeffery twice in 2012 and traded the Vikings the pick in 2013 they used on Cordarrelle Patterson. He just won't give Brady the weapons he needs.

I have two strategies on QBs:

-I take one of the elite guys in the 2nd or 3rd round. I got Luck in the 3rd in one of my leagues.

-I load up at RB and WR and wait until everyone has taken a QB and then take whoever I think is the best guy left. I got Rivers at #155 in my other league doing this.

Working out in both so far. The elite QBs are worth the early selection. On the other side, I don't see any reason to take the #7 QB in the 5th round when I can get the #13 QB way later on and he'll only score about 30 points less on the year.

Picked up Ahmad Bradshaw and Kirk Cousins off the waiver wire because I thought they were going to be good trade bait. I managed to trade them for Le'Veon Bell... I think I got away with highway robbery.

Who are your starters at RB and QB?
I think I might have held on to Cousins.

Just turned nothing into a top RB -- nice WW work.

My starters at RB are technically Doug Martin and Jamaal Charles, but that was messed up in week 1. I was running Pierre Thomas and Chris Ivory, and I have Khiry Robinson sitting on the bench. My starter at QB is Matt Ryan, and he's been good for me so far what with Atlanta's explosive offense.

Cousins was the bait of the trade, because he had Tom Brady and Pickspatrick. Needed a QB bad.

I just had a guy offer me Adrian Peterson for Giovani Bernard, and then he got pissed off at me when I turned it down. I already picked up Asiata, btw.

I offered him Darren McFadden for Keenan Allen as a counter, which I thought was pretty fair, and he accused me of trying to screw him over.

Seriously??

Wait, HOW did you turn it down? Graciously or insultingly?

LOL I wasn't rude or anything. Just said that I wasn't interested in Peterson.

The response that I really wanted to give would have killed any chance of him accepting my counter offer, not that it ended up mattering.
