Colts vs Eagles

I told people all off season the Texans are better than the Colts and we would win the division. Our biggest competition are the Titans.

We have the better Oline, Dline, RB, WR's, CB's, special teams..........

I can't count how many times the Colts got favorable calls against us. I mean you could just count all the BS PI calls Manning would get just for throwing it deep...and if you hit him it was Roughing the Passer most of the time.

Absolutely. Great to see the football gods remember the Colts debt.

Funny how ESPN rightfully pointed out these calls. I can't remember once back in the day when they pointed out Manning's Colts benefited from a horrible call.

I remember this little gem was ruled a legal interception by Indy. My memory has selectively erased most of that night. But this call was a deal-breaker in terms of Houston chances that night.

Screw it. Remember the 2011 game where they penalized Watt for sacking the QB and had 2 terrible PI calls that let them win? And then there was this in 2012.

I really have no idea what the Colts are doing on offense. They have plenty of talented WR's and yet they line up in 2-3 TE sets half the time. They have a pretty decent scat-back in Bradshaw but they hand the ball off to Richardson 20+ times. They have a pretty good young QB and some speed at WR and they threw maybe 4 passes over 15 yards.

They hired the old OC at Stanford, Pep Hamilton, and are seemingly trying to re-create that offense despite not having the O-Line or RB's to make it work. Unfortunately they also forgot the key ingredient....Jim Harbaugh.

that one's always bugged me. no matter how you look at it, that's a fumble. tuck rule? the target of the pass and trajectory make it a backwards pass - still a fumble even if it's ruled incomplete. you're right, the colts have gotten more truly biased calls than anyone else in the league.
 
The Colts are dead defensively without Mathis, and now that they may have lost Arthur Jones, physical teams up front are going to manhandle them. They will win track meets and games where Luck goes nuts, but they are no contender.

And i felt no pity for them on the refs. They have a long storied history intertwined with Peyton of having the refs in their back pocket. Kinda glad to see them get screwed a bit.
 
Oh and by the way...

Colts traded a 1st for Trent Richardson.

Eagles traded a 5th for Darren Sproles.

One performed like a 1st rounder tonight and the other performed like a 5th rounder. Unfortunately for the Colts, they got the wrong end of that deal.

Looks like they have a lot of different threads covering the same basic topic and the mods are trying to steer everyone to the original thread that covered said topic.

We've had that here when noobs come on and don't look to see if what they want to discuss already has an active thread and start duplicate discussions.

At least that's what it seemed like in the half dozen I looked into...

And you are still wrong.

The Colts have played the Eagles and the Broncos and barely let last night's game slip away from them.

The Texans have played the Redskins and the Raiders. They could have easily lost the Skins game if the Skins didn't make so many mental mistakes and they faced a rookie QB in Carr and a team that usually gives up after losing by two scores.

The Colts have Luck and we have Fotzpatrick which will ultimately be the difference by the end of the season. Hopefully "I'm wrong", but I don't see that happening.
 
does anybody else remember Andrew Gardner, OT who was on Texans for a couple seasons? He was the starting RT for Eagles last night because of injurys. Just amazed @ number of former Texans who now are Eagles & performing. tells me Texans problems have been coach related not so much talent provided by Rick Smith who's job now looks pretty safe with better coaching applied to his players selected.

Yep, he's their 3rd string OT who was pushed into starting duty because of injuries and Lane Johnson suspension. He didn't look very good last night. They also signed Wade Smith this week so add another one to the list.

Wow. DeMeco Ryans, Connor Barwin, James Casey, Wade Smith, Andrew Gardner & Jeff Maehl are all playing for the Eagles. If you add the fact that they're the Cowboys biggest rivals, it becomes extremely hard not to root for Philadelphia.

Yeah. The Eagles and the Cardinals are my "NFC" teams because I lived in both Phoenix and the Philly area for awhile. But with so many Texans on the Eagles, I'm really pulling for them to do well against everyone but us.

But I didn't think they'd beat the Colts last night. That was awesome.

The Colts have the advantage there, no question. But, the Texans are arguably better at RB and the defensive front 7. I'd say O-line, receivers, and secondary are close. The schedule is pretty much identical other than the Colts have the Broncos & Pats, while the Texans play Oakland and Buffalo. If the Texans can get a two game advantage there (and they're already up one), I don't see why they can't make a legit run at the AFC South.
 
Eagles Roster Update of former Texans:

DeMeco Ryans, Connor Barwin, James Casey, Wade Smith, Andrew Gardner, Jeff Maehl & Bryan Braman. DeMeco/Barwin high 2nd rd. picks for Texans traded/cut due to salary cap. Casey was better than Greg Jones who replaced him. Xavier was drafted to replace Wade who surprisingly replaced by much improved Ben Jones. Would have kept Gardner over Clabo but then Brennen was still with team that point as well. Braman was a crowd favorite on special teams in Philly look for much of the same but with Eagle LB depth a problem he could get his shot. Maehl better watch out cause Texans just cut Travis Labhart he could soon touch down an Eagle? Got to throw this in, not a former Texan but former Colt kicker Cody Parkey a rookie who went undrafted, signed by Colts (who still have Vinatieri kicking strong) for RB David Fluellen, ending up beating the Colts helping Texans take a two game led in standings. Payback in some way or another I suppose is a ***** :spit:
