Fiesta Bowl 2014 Thread

I don't know about this Blake Bortles guy. This bum has thrown 2 INTs since I tuned in. Can't wait to see Shlake Shortles. I hear good things about him.

My 6th/FA sleeper pick.

He would be a great fit in BO'B's offense.
 
When we look back at this game in the box score in 4 months don't let us forget that Blake Bortles did absolutely nothing on that 50 yard TD "Pass".
 
Bortles doing his best Eli Manning impression...Someone said he looks like Jake Locker...i agree. Like Locker, Bortles has all the tools, i just dont see much from him in the passing game to think he's anything more than an athletic game manager.
 
Not really impressed with the pro prospects of Bortles (this game!) so far, but this is shaping up to a pretty good game.

I hope we see a game winning TD drive w/ 90 seconds on the clock.
 
Admittedly this is the first and only time I've seen Bortles play, but I'm not impressed. Maybe he's just having a bad game, but he looks like a game manager and nothing special.

Baylor has been disappointing as well.
 
LOL, Totally bailed out of a horrible pass that should have ended the drive. That ball was RIFLED hard in the wrong direction and was uncatchable, bad flag IMO.

Of Course he scores a TD on what should have been a drive ender on another "screen" pass or whatever that 2 yard pass is classified as. His box score stats are growing, but I am NOT impressed one bit so far.
 
Blitz Bortles and he seems to struggle.

Another great individual effort by his receiver as I type.

For comparisons sake Teddy B completes like 65% of his passes when blitzed, and he has nowhere near the caliber of receivers that Bortles seems to have, that Hall guy is killing Baylor.
 
Nothing outstanding for me so far but he does have strong arm. I still take McCarron in second over Bortles in first. Still, another half to go.

Honestly your head is so far up Teddy's ass there is no way you are going to give Bortles an unbiased grade.

Seriously, what the hell is Rico watching anyway? We are all watching those 2 monster TD bombs when he hit his receiver in stride. What's not to like in this guy?

Not at all. It's just annoying how everyone has already made their minds up on who they think we should take and go out of their way to dog everyone one else. You see it from the Manziel fans about Teddy. You see it from Teddy fans about Manziel. Now it's spilled over to Bortles.
