I either read or heard that RB's like running out of the pistol because they get the ball standing still and it makes it easier for them to pick a hole.Does being under center more improve the running game? I can't remember what formations the Texans were using when Tate was at his most productive against the Patriots
I could see how it would make the ZBS harder, though since the back isn't moving to one side at the snap and that would make the backside cut harder to create or find.
Couldn't you just have the back line up 2-3 yds behind the QB in the pistol? It could make for some ugly TFL's, but that could be lived with considering how much better Keenum played while running the pistol.
