Maybe Wade missed him.... maybe the draft didn't fall the way they wanted.
Maybe they expected him to be there in the fourth, but when that didn't happened they decided to go early on Sam Montgomery the following year.
Who knows, but if MJ was a problem, WillieJ wouldn't be a Texan now.
I don't remember the specifics but I think he had some off the field issues and didn't pass the choir boy test for the Texans. They seem to have lightened up on that a little though. I agree Justin Houston would have been a great pick for the Texans, and many of our LB issues wouldn't exist now.
It's one thing to bring in a guy as a UDFA, another to spend a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a guy who had a documented substance abuse violation. Like it or not, the Texans have been pretty consistent in avoiding drug issues in the draft. Yes, they will miss on some players. And they will miss on some headaches.
