Von miller for me. Clay Matthews second.

I like their versatility. Excellent bringing pressure off the edge...good against the rum, but they still have the ability to drop into coverage and play well there.

I guess people will probably disagree with me, but I think Cushing was a better 4-3 OLB than he is a 3-4 ILB. He didn't put up the sack numbers that a guy like Von Miller does, but he was used differently, and he created havoc all over the field. And he was just a rookie.

Technically Cushing was formerly a SAM 4-3 OLB (before Wade arrived in Houston) while Miller currently plays SAM also in a 4-3, but they had different roles because Miller is primarily an edge-rusher which Cushing was not. Confusing enough ?

I'd put DeMarcus over Clay as well, but I think Clay is getting a nice all around game going. We'll see how Miller does without Doom on the other side.
 
Miller- just an all around animal
Matthews-if it weren't for injuries he might be the best
Ware-soft against the run at time, age is catching up to him
Houston- had a nice season last year..up and comer

I find it hard to judge Cushing as a SAM LB.... mainly because the line was so poor back then, he was asked to rush the QB more than he should & not like an 4-3 SAM would with a good OL.

We blitzed Brian Cushing, because we had to. Back then, I loved Antonio's passion & energy, but he wasn't getting it done & the inside of our line was...... lacking. It would have been intersting to see him play 4-3 Sam with a decent line, or just a better UT than what we had.
 
DOn't be surprised to see James Harrison enter the discussion again if he's looking for one last pay day and he's fully buys into the coaching staff of wherever he lands. I'm not saying it will happen, but Harrison owned this position for several years and just recently started declining. He might be in a bad place mentally for all I know right now, but I don't think his body has completely broken down yet. Harrison could still potentially be a big factor for the right team
 
I'd put my vote in for Ware for awhile and now Von Miller. Clay Matthews fits in somewhere there for about a year and a half.
 
I like Lance Briggs as best overall OLB. Dude is one heck of a football player.

Von Miller, Aldon Smith and Clay Mathews all tie for best pass rush OLB.

Yeah, Mike Zimmer is a very smart DC and will use him very well. Look for him to have a resurgence.

I was under the impression that Harrison was going to be playing a DE spot on the Bengals D-line and wouldn't be an OLB this year?
