Someone will pick him up. He's like a cockroack he'll survive. I'm still mad at him for his lame attempt last year to have dropping to one knee to PRAY COPYRIGHTED as "Tebow-ing". Insofar as what some previous posters have said I'll have to agree No.
 
Teams inquired about him this offseason, but they asked if he would be open to switching positions and he flat out said no. He may reconsider that now, but he seems to care more about being a QB than an NFL player.

:thinking: Hmmm. Quite the connundrum. On ONE hand, there have been some college players who were asked to switch positions when they arrived in the NFL who wound up succedeing beyond expectations. Dick Butkis was a tight end in College. A coach switched him to defense and made it to the hall of fame. Hines Ward was a quarterback in college and the Steelers turned him into a receiver. He's probably getting into the hall of fame of the first ballot.
While I understand the passion Tebow has for the game and the position he's been playing all this time. The QB I remember who was most dead set on playing QB and refused to become either a receiver or corner was Mr. Warren Moon. He was willing to go to Canada to prove he could play. Despite Vince Evans playing decent ball in Chicago and a rookie Doug Williams taking the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to an NFC championship in his rookie season no one was willing to give Moon a chance straight out of Washington.
Tebow needs to accept the fact that he's no Mr. Warren Moon but if he TRULY loves the game he MIGHT be another Hines Ward or Dick Butkis if he TRULY loves the game he'll take a reassignment in stride and excel.

While these are nice examples the vast majority of position switches are started out of desparation and end in failure.
 
Why even sign the guy? Just for the circus? Sparano had zero interest in even training the kid. Fukkin' Jets. :mariopalm:

I hate to burst your bubble, but Dick Butkus was never a tight end in college. While he played a little bit of center at Illinois, he spent the vast majority of his time at linebacker.

Similarly, Ward spent some time playing QB his sophomore season at Georgia, he finished his college career with almost 150 receptions, and almost 2,000 yards receiving, and was hardly turned into a WR by the Steelers.

Butkis was a center and linebacker in college. Ward played part-time QB and then split between WR and RB.
 
The only downfall of this for myself....is the constant barrage of Tebow coverage the media's going to put me through the rest of the offseason. Otherwise, I couldn't care less about him as an NFL player.

He should already be in Canada winning Grey Cups. He may not be the prototypical NFL QB, but he is a heck of a football player and seemingly a genuinely good person. Hope he succeeds.

I don't want Tebow anywhere near Ottawa's expansion team next year. Doubt he'll win a Grey Cup... unless he's on the bench like the guy backing up Eli.

The sad thing about all this is the guy really could play in the NFL ..............................if he was willing to change his position to TE...he's that kind of athlete to where he could pull it off.
 
I hope someone gives him a shot. A real shot. Rex had something personal against the kid & was never going to give him a real opportunity.

He might not have been an All-Pro in Denver, but he did enough to win, which is more than Blain Gabbert, or whoever was throwing the ball in KC, or Cleveland.

Or even Phillip Rivers..... No doubt Rivers is a much better QB, but he's not winning & winning is what it's all about.

I think more of the credit for that needs to go to John Fox and Mike McCoy. They were smart enough to realize exactly what they needed to do to make Tebow successful. They re-designed their offense to highlight the things that Tebow could do and they put him in situations to win.

I don't blame Rex for not doing the same thing. I blame Sparano for not being creative enough. I think Rex expected Sparano to figure out ways to use Tebow and fit him into the offense and Sparano was not up to the task.

But if you're going to bring Tebow in to be your #1 QB, then you've got to create your offense around what he can and can't do. Like the Broncos did. And you've got to devote yourself to that kind of offense (something the Broncos refused to do.) You've got to get someone like a Collin Klein to be his backup. You've got to have a ocuple of QBs that have the same type of skill set.
