Potential low-risk, high reward Qb for the Texans

Just wondering what the Rams saw in Kurt Warner before picking him up  Is Tim Tebow better than every quarterback in CFL or Arena football? Might be able to get someone for free :hmmm:

Maybe they saw Dick Vermeil crying while watching Kurt Warner's game film?

None. Maybe an undrafted free agent, but with Schaub/Yates/Keenum/McGee I think we have enough QBs.

Some might say we don't have any. You could have 100 qb's but if none of them are the right one then you don't have any.

If Yates/Keenum/McGee do not have the ability to be coached up to be starting NFL QBs, then we need to continue looking at QBs.

tebow is 1-0 against da Texans :P and pretty much had a game winning drive on us a shredded our D

Well Thorn, if THAT'S the situation...then why wouldn't you see if Football Jesus could do something for us? Where's the hurt in trying it?

By your words, if we're screwed with what we have...then what's one more potential failure going to matter.

And this phrase "coached up" always makes me shake my head. Coached up? When you get to the NFL, you either can roll as QB or you can't.

Fact: The Broncos were out of playoff contention UNTIL they turned to Tim Tebow, and he led the team to believe they could do it...and they did! Plus, they ousted the Steelers in the opening round before running into the same fugging team (Patriots) that we faced in round 2. Result? Both QBs got shut down and the Pats won.

All things considered, I don't think it's a sin (Tebow joke intended) to contemplate a guy who has shown he can lead an offense from "out of playoffs before he became QB" to "in the playoffs BECAUSE he became QB." And, he hit Thomas in-stride on the opening OT possession to beat the Steelers.

Elway landed a better QB, fine. But Tebow hadn't been given a shot with the Jets...and with that roster and that HC, I don't think it's be a fair assessment of Tebow if he had received a legitimate chance.

By and far, people are more against this move from a public opinion of Tebow Mania than anything else.

Vince Young also has a winning record in the NFL. He also had a big run which won the game for Tennessee against Htown in OT. Want to bring him in?!

Funny you make this assertion today. Vinny Cerrato who was Director of Player Personnel with the '49ers was on 610 am and was directly asked this afternoon how good Kubiak was with QBs and he said Kubiak was instrumental in getting Steve Young to up his game and get to the SB.

Yeah in GP world. I couldn't care less about the potential media attention. Tebow sucks. He is a trick player at the NFL level.

I dunno, he could play fullback or RB :kitten:

I don't see where people think he could do anything. He got lucky is all, in my view. Some of those games were won because of Matt Prater, not Tebow. I see a terrible QB. Inspirational person, good human being, but good quarterback? No. Schaub is miles better than him as a passer. Give Schaub Tebow's mobility, maybe, but Schaub is far better as a passer.

He probably could be some kind of fullback or goal line back if he focused on that solely. I think he would be open to it. He can run the ball. Question is can he block and can he catch the ball.

Why is there such a level of hatred in the posts? Has Tim Tebow earned the level of asshattery that gets spewed in comments sections?

Doesn't beat up women. Doesn't kill teammates in car wrecks. Not on trial for animal cruelty. Has never once subverted a starting QB let alone even hinted at a mutiny against one.

The guy is not terrible, and to be honest the book is still way open on him as a QB. Nobody has seen nearly enough on him as a QB as we have on a whole assortment of journeymen wannabe QBs who drift from team to team. Even a completely inept QB named Vince Young had quadruple the chances that Tebow has.

Sometimes you can tell the character level of people when the best they can do to "engage in the conversation" is (a) talk massive **** about a player without really discussing the situation, and (b) talk massive **** about a poster.

As a QB3, he's better than even the QB2 we had on our roster who played all of one quarter in 2011 before being drilled into the turf and effectively done in the NFL.

I think there sticking with the QB's they have unless the don't believe in yates then of course they will continue to look for the QB of the future simple has dat u think if Geno falls to us .... Nah no way he will fall that much ..????

Tebow...

Any receivers with a 8 ft catch radius in the draft?

Did you not watch the two Schaub playoff games? He was shaky in both games, throwing stuff nowhere near his targets...really, only the Bengals being worse than the Patriots is what saved Schaub.

That Bengals game, everyone in the game day thread was remarking that we were shark bait heading into round 2 based on how Schaub played vs the Bengals.

I don't think a team needs a guy like Tebow to be Matt Schaub Passing Stats caliber of QB. What I'd like to see is an extra QB on this team who brings a whole different dynamic, a variety that you could switch to if needed.

I'm hoping like hell that Yates and Keenum grow, I just don't think Matt Schaub is the guy to get us to that next level. Thought from what I saw in 2011 that his 2012 would be the breakout year...but no, it got worse as the year wore on. He's peaked.

I don't think Schaub is the guy either but Tebow? Damn! Why in the world would anyone want to add Tebow to their team now after seeing what his presence did for the Bronco's and Jets?

Being the team that has to tell Tim Tebow that he's not a real boy is a thankless friggin' job if ever there was one. You bring him in, his fans mob you like some kind of Jesus-loving version of the Fresno Mafia we got with Carr. Then McFarland Toys makes another version of his action figure with your teams colors on it and for the entire season whoever your starter is gets picked apart by a bunch of people who should realize that Tebow isn't better than whoever you are trotting out there but who can't for some reason wrap their brains around this. Then he finally gets to play and they don't his faults, give him credit for every other players successes, and start demanding that you start him and reshape your offense around his "unique set of skills" because it supposedly worked in Denver.

F' that! I say again "I don't want him even in Texas much less in Houston".

I laughed out loud with this post.
