2013 TT Member Mock Draft Discussion

NY Giants select....

Josh Boyce, WR, TCU
boyce.jpg

Another weapon for Eli Manning. Fast guy but not spindly, with decent height for a projected slot receiver. Definitely fell, he should go 5th round or so in the real draft. Great value here.

Some guys are going to slip through the cracks.
It makes me wonder, between the new CBA and the wealth of talents that are serviceable, will we see shorter careers and teams not taking as much chance with questionable characters in the near future?

Pittsburgh drafts John Boyett - S, Oregon

Miami is on the clock

If TS doesn't take either of those guys we can let those picks stand.

NYG - Josh Boyce - WR, TCU
NE - Kapron Lewis-Moore - DE/DT, Notre Dame

I have to work on a paper today so I will PM my pick for SF to Steel and 76.

Almost took him for Miami in the 5th round instead of Tavarres King.

Recap:

#223 Pittsburgh Steelers: John Boyett - S, Oregon
#224 Miami Dolphins: Philip Lutzenkirchen - TE, Auburn
#225 New York Giants: Josh Boyce - WR, TCU
#226 New England Patriots: Kapron Lewis-Moore - DE/DT, Notre Dame
#227 San Francisco 49ers: On the Clock

With the 227th pick the 49ers select Steve Williams - CB, Cal

Washington is on the clock

#228 Washington Redskins - On the Clock
#229 Minnesota Vikings -
#230 Indianapolis Colts -

With the 226th pick in the TT mock Draft the Patriots select Kapron Lewis Moore, DE/DT, Notre Dame

Very good pick as long as they've got the depth to IR him his rookie season. He'd have gone alot higher if he hadn't gotten hurt late in the season.

With the 228th pick in the NFL Mock Draft the Washington Redskins select Jeff Baca, OG, UCLA.

Sorry it took me so long, I was out of the office.

With their final pick in the Draft the vikings select:

Nathan Stanley, QB, Southeastern Louisiana

Gives them a QB to try and develop. His physical skills seem to be there, but he needs some serious work. At this point I think it's worth bringing in someone to try and develop a little more and pressure Ponder long term.

The Washington Redskins 2013 Mock Draft

Rd.2 David Amerson, CB/S, North Carolina St.
Rd.3 Shamarko Thomas, S, Syracuse
Rd.4 Reid Fragel, OT, Ohio St.
Rd.5 Duke Williams, S, Nevada
Rd.5 Sanders Cummings, CB/S, Georgia
Rd.6 Ty Powell, DE/OLB, Harding
Rd.7 Jeff Baca, OG, UCLA

The Redskins objectives were to improve their secondary. I used the Bill Walsh theory draft several talented DB's that can play multiple positions and let the best man win.

They also needed to upgrade the RT position. I have Fragel as my 6th rated OT and he has the ability to step in and become a starter his rookie yr. Baca fits very well in the Skins ZBS scheme. He provides good depth. Baca is comparable to Ben Jones. A great value in Rd.7.

Powell is a raw pass rusher, but he has the natural ability to become a force in a couple of yrs. He was a late invite to the Sr. Bowl, and certainly didn't look like he was in over his head. Steal of Rd.6

The New Orleans Saints 2013 Draft

Rd.1 Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
Rd.3 Akeem Spence, DT, Illinois
Rd.4 Bacarri Rambo, S, Georgia
Rd.5 Jelani Jenkins, OLB Florida
Rd.6 Ryan Otten, TE, San Jose State

For having only five picks, I see a potentially explosive pass rusher, a solid albeit unsung DT, a solid safety, and a sleeper at TE. Gambling on Jenkins' injury history but if it pays off, the dividends will be good. My plan is to push Jenkins inside, though, like he was at Florida. I don't think Vilma is their man after making the switch from 4-3 to 3-4.

You made the best of the picks that were available. Gotta have LB's/Pass rushers in a 3/4 defense. (You got 2 that have great/good potential) Rambo is definitely a an upgrade to the current Saints S position. Sleeper picks in Spence and Otten have an above avg chance of contributing next yr.

Good Job

I don't know much about your round 6 round 7 picks, but wow, for lack of a 1st rounder that is a very solid defensive draft. Amerson is solid with great upside and I'm very high on Shamarko Thomas. Fragel is a definite sleeper who can become a good lineman in the NFL. I also like the fact that you drafted Williams and Cummings to shore up and provide competition (and let the best man win).

Redskins defense will have a huge boost because of this. Loaded offense + recharged defense... Given a good draft I can pencil them in as favorites in their division, if not already.

Colts picks:

1) Desmond Trufant, CB
3) David Quessenberry, OL
4) Sean porter, LB
6) Vinson Painter, OL
7) pending

Seahawks selections so far: OT, TE, QB, OLB, WR, CB

Some of their fans are also looking for a DT, a RB, and a S.
We might as well start a group pick for Blake; I think he's quite busy this year and doesn't have much time for the draft.

DT:
Everett Dawkins, Fla St
Cory Grissom, USF
Anthony McCloud, Fla St
Aaron Tipoti, Cal
These guys are rated by NFL.com and/or NFLDraftScout.com higher than some players that have already been picked.

RB:
Jawan Jamison, Rutgers
Cierre Wood, Notre Dame
Zac Stacy, Vandy

S:
Ray Polk, Colorado
Rashard Hall, Clemson
Bradley McDougal, KS
Brandan Bishop, N C St
Keelan Johnson, AZ St
Dexter McCoil, Tulsa

Put me down for Grissom

With the 231st pick in the NFL Mock Draft the Seattle Seahawks select Cory Grissom DT South Florida

#233 Houston - Dexter McCoil SS , Tulsa. 6'4" 224.

This deep in the draft and still the possibility of an impact player. Safety skills , LBer size. Could be the guy you plug in next to Cushing on passing downs where Quin was last season with the exception that he has the size to match up with the big TE's. An asset in the redzone on those jump ball situations against the taller recievers.

Its a 7th round pick .... nothing to lose.

I really hope that this happens on draft day.
What is it that Keo and Pleasant have got that this guy doesn't?

I don't see Sean Porter on the spreadsheet, if he is available then the Patriots select Sean Porter, LB, Texas A&M.

Thanks, I thought for sure that he should be, then I'm going for broke with my selection. The Patriots select Tyrann Matheiu, DB, LSU.

Ok sorry guys, I'm trying to sift through on my phone while at work, and it isn't going well. Give me minute so I can get to an actual computer.

Sweet pick. Could play joker for us. Cover the Hernandez/Gronk types.
