Two more years and we will have a 4-team playoff. Then, once the NCAA realizes that there's no point in playing bowls featuring 6 and 7 win teams, they will expand it to 8 teams and use more of the top tier bowls. I think eventually they are going to have to scrap the lower tier bowls and up the requirements to 8 wins for a bowl game, because nobody cares about those now, and having a playoff with meaningful games will make it even worse.
This year would have been a great playoff, ND would have been owned by Oregon, and Bama would have stomped Florida. Then Bama vs Oregon for a real championship game. I would love to see that matchup, as I think Oregon could put up some points on Bama.
