Texans VS Vikings. Lets Predict :)

Yeah, I was surprised he said as much as he did. I know he was in a hard spot, trying to correct one misconception... but you're kinda throwing someone under a bus.

There were no way for him to go around that question.

And the use of the term "technique" doesn't sound too bad;
Obviously, the coaches gave that particular safety a little more responsibility on such a play and that guy needs to be on top of his technique, otherwise, he'd be toast.

An interesting stat:

The Texans are 8-0 when leading after the opening period and 10-0 when leading at halftime and after three quarters.

Our best run defense has been our offense. I think we get that back Sunday. We're going to hold the ball and frustrate the Vikings to take them out of their game. They're pretty patient with their run, they don't give up easy. But they're playing for their play-off lives.

We jump on them early, score 21 points in the first qtr, they'll abandon the run, we dominate on D.

43-6 Texans.

GP will be ecstatic! :fingergun:

I predict the end of the world as two mutants (ADP and JJW) collide.

Seriously is anyone not pumped to see those two go at it?

Texans 34, Vikings 24

The Texans clinch the 1st seed in the AFC.

I forgot I gave my prediction in another thread by mistake.

AP is playing at the top of his game. I think that he will be able to break into the secondary often enough to be a problem for the Texans' defense.

Texans 20
Vikings 31

Your insight is amazing. Would you mind breaking down the Cheifs@Indy game for me?

I'm changing my name to "BigLouBlitz", and here's my thoughts on the next two weeks:

Texans 0
Vikings 84

Next week:

Texans -14
Indy 2,877,021

The Texans run defence is fifth best in the NFL and has allowed a league low 3 touchdowns.

When we jump off to a fast start, opponents commonly abandon their run game. Their run stats go down and our run defense stats go up. In this game, we better hit hard and fast........as the Vikings are not likely to abandon the run.......their only real weapon........until they are very far behind.

It's not just that we score a lot when we're at the top of our game, but we're also pretty stingy with the ball. Two long TD scoring drives where they only touch it once in the first quarter, they may abandon the run much sooner than they want.

They are playing for their playoff lives

Sounds like a plan !:thisbig:

I predict that even if the Vikes are down 20 in the first quarter they don't abandon the run game for two reasons:
- They are all about getting ADP over 2000 yards and giving him a shot at the record, what else do they have to play for?
- The alternative is putting the game in the hands of Christian Ponder.

- They are all about getting ADP over 2000 yards and giving him a shot at the record, what else do they have to play for?

They are currently the 6th seed in the NFC holding off the Skins/Cowboys/Giants for the final wild-card. 2 more wins & they're 10-6 & in.

I know this is the wrong thread, but I can't figure out how to start a new one.
Can anyone give me advice on where a good place to buy tickets for Sundays game is? I looked online and a place called Berry's tickets ( or berry's something ) but their out of LA Cali. I fill like their fees will rape me. I'd rather spend more money for better tickets than fees.
Please help! Thanks

I'm not going to predict a score, but I'm worried about Christian Ponder in this game. Lots of attention is going to be on Peterson...Ponder is not awful IMO. Plus he has some scrambling ability.

I'm worried about Ponder early and Peterson late.

I think this is going to be a tough one, but we can do it if we play well.

What makes you think the Texans are not the first to think of this, yet he still has 1900 yards and winning games.
Vick Ballard. Let me repeat VICK BALLARD ran for 105 yards with a 5.8 average.

What the he77 you think A.D. is gonna do? Yikes!
It's gonna be a close game.

Texans 24
Vikes 17

Different player. Different game. AP is Hakeem to Ballard's Dalembert, BUT the guy directly behind center makes it a big difference. The Texans weren't going to let Luck go crazy. If the Colts were going to win that game it would have been with Luck throwing for 400.

The Vikings don't have that kind of passing attack. Heck, you could argue that they don't have a passing attack at all. The focus can be on AP. I don't want to see 8 in the box, though. If he gets by the first wave he'll be running for 80 yards each play. I think the Vikes will run him away from Watt, though.

It won't be a blowout win, but I don't think it will be in doubt. It might be another 10-14 point win.

I think to much is being made of the Vick Ballard thing. Sure he made some big runs on our defense. But nobody was looking for him. There were a couple of situations where the Colts should have been throwing, but they didn't. There was that one drive where they scored & Vick had like 5 or 6 carries. I'm sure Wade was thinking they were going to pass on every down. Wade got took, Arians got us...

But I guarantee there will be 11 guys looking for Peterson to run on every play. 12 if we can get away with it.

Make no mistake, Peterson will get his. Minnesota is a better team than Indy, so they have a chance to win. If we don't get into the end zone, like the last couple of weeks, we help those chances.

So, I expect to see Brooks replacing Jones in the Red Zone. I expect to see more LeStar & Posey and less Walter through the first three qtrs. I expect to see an urgency towards scoring & scoring early. I expect to see a Texans win & I think Minnesota's game plan (hand it to AD) is going to play right into Gary-Ball.

I think our defense tackles like we know they can. I think they keep Peterson in front of them. I think Peterson has an avg day. 6.3 ypc, 130 ypg, 0.78 TDs/game

43-16 Houston

With the Vikings favoring the 22 and 13 personnel (single receiver), we might very well have a lot of 8-Man in the box.

This will be where Brooks Reed can help in the 53 Defensive formation as one of the ILBs.

wow mr negative, these are just for fun.

Wont do them anymore if everyone feels its a waste of forum space.

It is a ritual. You do not **** with the ritual at this point. Even last week after the Patriots massacred us I still posted. No Mr.T but I was too superstitious to ignore the thread completely.

Don't mess with the ritual.:slapfight:

Also this is a playoff game for all intents and purposes. Vikings are playing for their lives and we are fools if we think we're going to win in Indianapolis this year. Pagano is going to be back on the sidelines and that place is going to be rocking like a madhouse. They will be playing nine-miles above their heads on pure emotion and we won't need as much as they want it. We lose in Indy so we better take care of business here against Minnesota. The playoffs have already started for us.

I had a dream where Schaub got concussed by Jared Allen, and so TJ Yates stepped in in the 1st quarter and threw for 300+ yards, 3 TDs and we beat the Vikes 28-14. Schaub was back for playoffs.

That is my ******ed up prediction for the day lol

I think this is an excellent point. No one should be thinking this game isn't all that important because we get to play Indy next week. But inevitably, there's always a hint of that in games such as this.

It's up to Kubiak to make sure we're all on the same page & that everyone plays to win. One guy on one play with anything less than a 110% attitude is all it takes to lose this thing & make next week a must win & that same attitude cost us another game and we're 11-4 the third seed.

It's easier to get them playing their best ever if they have to. This time, Kubiak has to get them to want to & we've seen how that's gone before.
