We absolutely love Keyshawn Martin ... explosive ... excellent return skills/decisions ... quick burst/acceleration ... great hands ... underrated except by those who saw Michigan State.

I agree with 100%. I'll feel good yelling Keyshawn! during games.
His name isn't "KEY-shawn" it's "KEH-Shawn" from what I understand.

I think he affirmed that slot receiver can be found on Day 3.I guess kubiak just dismissed the theory that only big wr's can play in his offense.

No, what he affirmed is that he will pick players that he thinks will help the team. It's not like posey is a big guy either.
Posey measured 6'2" 211 lbs at the combine.
Either way you slice it he's not a big guy unless you are a small guy.
Posey is close to 4" taller and 15 lbs heavier than Kendall Wright, who is the genesis of this conversation.

The conversation began back during the pre-draft period, when many posters (such as Rey) felt that Kendall Wright would be a target of the Texans in the 1st round. It was pointed out that the Texans under Kubiak had never had a starting WR under 6 ft tall. The Broncos (with Kubiak as OC) had not had a starting WR under 6 ft since 1995 (Mike Pritchard).I think that whole "big receiver" thing has gotten blown out of proportion.

I have very high expectations for Keshawn Martin. 1200 yards, 13 TDs and a pro bowl appearance as a rookie. I've got a lot of faith in his abilities to stretch the field and make big plays.
Andre Johnson has been in the league for a decade and he has had over 10 TD's in a season exactly........zero times. Yeah, go drink more kewl-aide. That's the ticket.I have very high expectations for Keshawn Martin. 1200 yards, 13 TDs and a pro bowl appearance as a rookie. Most of the time I read the posts on this site with a grin at the twinge of homerism. But come on, 1300 yards and 10+ TDs as a rookie WR on a team with Andre Johnson and Arian Foster? Really? You expect that? Really?

Wow.
I hope you're right.
That would be amazing.
That would mean that something happened to Andre or Posey.... That's the only way KMart is going to get 1200 yards & 13 TDs.
Well, that or he plays flat-out better than Posey & Walter.

Randy Moss had 1300 yds, 17 tds and that is the best rookie season ever. Highly doubt we get half that with Keyshawn Martin. And I would be thrilled with half.
Smallish for a WR at 5'11" and 180 pounds
Very productive:
"2008: (10/0) - 11-132-12 2009: (13/2) - 18-411-22.8-5 2010: (11/5) - 32-394-12.3-1 2011: (14/9) -- 66-777-11.8-4. Career (2008-'11) - 64 carries-540-8.4-3. 47 KORs-1,100-36.6-1. 65 PRs-659-10.1-2. "
Ball Skills
"Hands are a bit inconsistent. On one hand, flashes ability to snatch on the run. However, can allow too many throws to get into frame which can result in some drops. Lack of size and arm length (31 5/8) limits his catching radius but does show ability to elevate and pull in high throw. Shows adequate body control and flashes ability to open up and make tough catch outside of frame. Can struggle at times to find and track the deep ball. "
Big play ability
Possesses the top-end speed to take the top off of defenses. Also shows an extra gear to track down the deep ball. Top-end speed and quickness provides with the ability to create yards after the catch. Extremely dangerous when finding daylight and has the speed to ruin defenders angle in pursuit. Slippery as an open-field runner and can ward of arm tackle attempts. Lack of size and strength limits his ability to win one-on-one downfield battles. Dangerous returner on special teams with the vision and speed to exploit seams in the coverage.

It concerned me a bit there as those were the first three games I pulled up.
Now that I had gone through 10 games, he had only one more drop.
With that many pass attempts going his way and the number of returns he fielded, it's acceptable.
I've seen Blackmon drop more passes and fumble once or twice as well.
So I guess it's all good?![]()
