Name the guy #26

I'll say swap 1st plus 49ers 3rd, take Hill with the 1st. I should say I know nothing about the draft except for what I read you guys posting in the mock draft threads.
Maybe your read it on one of my posts because I did mention that exact scenario but had SF taking Hill. We will have you mocking with the rest of us before you know it.

I was watching Mike Mayock's mock draft on the NFLN and he mocked Fleener to us at 26. Afterwards he and Charles Davis were discussing the pick and Davis kept calling him "JACOBY Fleener". I think it's meant to be now

Jacoby Fleener is his name. Coby is a nickname with an obvious derivation.

Although I think its BS because he just has a quicker reaction time than those sumo wrestlers. Sports "science", whatever

SCIENCE!!!!

that vertical is impressive..

For the people saying Nick Perry. Who would he replace? Antonio Smith?

Nick Perry would play OLB and compete with Brooks for the other starting position opposite Barwin. Brooks Reed to me is someone who is best used as part of a rotation and you can never have enough pass rushers.

We will find out in just a few hours. The board is really congested around #26. Great value if Rick can trade down 10 picks or so doesn't make that much difference. The thing to watch for is someone rated higher that slips to #26 who is the bpa on Texans board? Now who would Wade want or Gary for that matter that would make the biggest impact on next years Texans.......

Melvin Ingram, OLB would fit Wade Phillips bill as for Gary he would probably go with Stephen Hill, WR. So I see Gary allowing Wade once again (because he knows best) to replace the loss of Mario & DeMeco with a player who could play either position @ LB. Could you imagine a LB lineup of LOLB Connor Barwin, LILB Brian Cushing, RILB Melvin Ingram & ROLB Brooks Reed. WOW :)

MELVIN INGRAM

Wish the draft would get backed to Saturday/Sunday. I hate only 1 round on Thursday. Especially this year, clashing with Game 7s in hockey. Ugh.

No guy for us at 26.....cause we are trading down into the 2nd round......to pick up a extra picks....which we need to get a kicker in the 6th or 7th round.....and another pick....

Could very well be this ^^^^. Which I could be ok with.

Yes, we should trade out of the first round so we can have a solid plan ... to get a kicker. Yep, thats it.

Rueben Randle, led the SEC in every receiving catagory until Jordan Jefferson came over to run the option on the short side of the field.:kubepalm:

I don't think we'll trade in the first round, but if we do, I would put money on us trading down and getting an extra pick. I just don't see us trading up.

I don't follow college football, so I can't really make a pick. But that doesn't keep me from posting here.

Same here Thorn! I leave it up to all these younger guys to do the research for me! They do a damn good job of it too!!:) The draft process is complicated to me, so I keep it simple. Keep enough names in my old brain to make it fun, and a little interesting at the draft party.

One of the FEW times I buy the local ragsheet is the day after draft day! They'll analyze all the TEXAN draft picks and I'll become acquainted with our new Texans!! Don't really matter to me who they are!!

Yep. One of the few times I'll actually read the Chronicle. I'll read what they have to say, read what everyone on this board is saying, and I'll also google our picks as well. I really want to learn who these new guys are. But as we so often find out, what we THINK they will do, and what they actually do can be much different.

Man I was sure Thorn was going to predict the Texans pick Red Grange or Otto Graham.

If Gilmore's there at 26, I'd be peeing in my pants running up to the podium with his selection. Doubt he gets out of the top 10.

Wow....

That's a completely different kind of response than the ones I got when I asked the question in a thread a couple months ago...

Yep Mayock moves Gilmore up and fans start peeing in their pants.

We were hoping Gilmore would fall al along. (Not going to happen.)

Kirkpatrick appears to be falling. Would you take him if he fell to 26, after the KJ experience?

Oh please, yes.

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

I seriousely doubt he gets past the Bears at #19. If he somehow lands at #26, I'll be doing backflips too but I really, really doubt he falls that far. Are you willing to trade up to #18 to grab him?

Guy No. 1:

“I know they want [Baylor receiver] Kendall Wright. He’s a slot guy who can work underneath and take pressure off Andre Johnson. Wright’s a playmaker. If he’s gone, there isn’t another receiver who will step right in. Rueben Randle and Alshon Jeffery are like Johnson, big and physical. Wright is different."

“They have to consider offensive line. I couldn’t believe they let Eric Winston go. He’s a good player. Who can you get at 26 that can come right in and play at right tackle? They could go out and make a pick like they did with Duane Brown, a second-round guy in the first. Jonathan Martin maybe? Or trade back."

“To me, the biggest question to be answered by this draft in that division is replacing the leadership and production lost with the trade of DeMeco Ryans and the release of Winston. Those are two main leaders and they did nothing in free agency. That’s hard to replace in a draft."

“Outside linebacker would be a luxury pick. Courtney Upshaw would be nice for them. Shea McClellin is another of what they have -- a versatile, solid football player. Inside, they could like Dont'a Hightower. I don’t think Darryl Sharpton or Bradie James can replace Ryans."

Guy No. 2:

“Coming up with a tackle in the late first is pretty tough. Cordy Glenn really doesn’t fit their profile, though he could be a right tackle. Mike Adams if you get past the combine test. Martin could be in that range."

“You can never have enough rushers. McClellin is a lot like Brooks Reed. Upshaw would be good there."

“Unless you take Janoris Jenkins, you can’t get a good corner at 26. You’d have to hold your nose, but he’s better than Kareem Jackson.”
