The inter-locking beveled UH logo is fine but the Cougar logo looks like a cross between Penn State and the Thundercats.

I like it, but hell what does an old-timer know.

Still, as a guy who has to "know" graphic arts, I wholehearted approve it.

Great concept, good visual, good lines, good combination.
Should grow quickly on people.

very penn statish, but at the same time how much can you differentiate a cougar when there's so many cougar/panther similar mascots out there.

I'm with you. I visit western PA quite a bit, and if I wore a hat/shirt with it up there it would easily get mistaken for Penn State. I guess they will have to overlay it over red apparel to differentiate the most.

I think it looks pretty cool. I was never a fan of the old logo, so regardless of lack of originality, I think this is an upgrade. I'd be willing to buy/wear this gear.

By my own admission I'm way too much a creature of habit. I grew up with the old OLD school logo (below). I guess because I associate it with many great Cougar teams in football, basketball, and baseball. I only accepted the last one four or five years ago. The new letters do look pretty good and won't take much getting used to and if the last cougar in the logo weren't so hideous I would have more of a problem with the new coog. As it is I just REALLY dislike the new coog...

I'm Old-School, too; however, since I used to work in the Graphics Arts Industry, I believe the new logo and letters will make for an easy sell.

And after the beat down on Penn St. in the Ticket City Bowl, how can anybody say they are smilar Cougars
