Rd.1 Rueben Randle LSU, Wr. 6'2, 210 LBS, Randle is very polished. He has good hands, adjusts to the ball well and is a very good blocker. He gets in and out of this breaks well and runs much faster than his 4.55 combine time in pads. Good character guy

Rd.2 Josh Robinson Central Fla. CB 5'9 199 LBS, 4.29 Robinson was 1st team all Sun Belt confrence. he makes up for lack of height with a 38 inch vertical. Long arms also help in this regard. 31.5 in arm length. Robinson basically shut down all Wr's he faced. He's a great player with all the attributes that you look for in a CB. Think a better DeAngelo Hall.

Rd.3 Mike Martin Michigan. DT 6'1 308 LBS, 4.88, Martin is a high character Guy, who bench presses 505 LBS and 700 squat. Former wrestling/shotput campion in high school. He is strong at the POA and is a perfect fit for Wades defense.

Rd.4 Jake Bequette Arkansas, DE/OLB 6'4 274 LBS, Bequette is a high motor guy who can rush the passer. The only reason he falls this far is because he suffered a hamstring injury that ruined his Sr yr. Bequette showed good explosion at the combine with some of the best 3 cone 6.90, shuttle 4.07vertical 34 inches BJ 9'5. He plaed OLB at the combine for the 1st time and reportedly did quite well.

Rd.5 Danny Coale Va. Tech, WR 4.50 6'0 201 LBS, Coale is a bigger faster version of Welker. He can KR/PR as well as Punt believe it or not. 47.5 avg. Coale was underutilized due to poor QB play and type of offense he played in. 155 career receptions and 2500 yds recieving. Won the Tatum award for top student athlete. Coale screams Texans pick and his best days are ahead of him. I would trade up to get him if I had too.

Rd.6 Joe Looney Wake Forest, OG 302 LBS, 5.0, Looney has good movement skills, lifted 26 times at the combine, He's a smart player who positions himself well. Has started since he was a RS freshman. Looney had an ankle injury as a Sr. He has upside if he can get stronger with a pro S&C coach. 2nd team all ACC.

Christian Thompson South Carolina St. S, 6'1 211 LBS. 4.45, Thompson is an Auburn transfer. He is a big/fast super athletic FS/SS. Developmental/PS prospect who would make an impact on ST's while he learns the pro game at S.

Randle and Martin have been on my radar as far as players the Texans may go for. Looney is someone I didn't know much about, but after reading up on him some more, he is definitely someone I could see the Texans getting in the later rounds. Coale and Bequette would be good picks also. Don't konw about Thompson in the 7th. Could be a good find and would probably be good depth and ST's for the first couple of years.

As for Robinson in the 2nd, I know he's a great athlete and football player, but I just don't know if the Texans will go for a CB this high in the draft. Remember, they still have Brandon Harris, that they got in the 2nd round last year, sitting on the bench this past season. I know Rick Smith always says you can never have enough CB's, but they seem to really like K. Jackson and with McCain playing the nickle so well and Harris sitting on the bench, I just don't think they will draft a CB this high.

Overall, good mock and one that I think is realistic for the Texans, except for Rd 2. :)

I'll be honest, I would love this draft.

Like the Randle pick. He's my guy if Floyd is gone, which he will be.

Robinson is tough to grade. Guy has a ton of potential, but comes with a high bust risk. Very risky selection in the 2nd round, even more so since CB is not a huge need.

Love Martin, guy is a total stud.

Very high on Bequette. Reminds me of a less talented Watt (and that is not necessarily a criticism). Would do very well in Wade's defense.

I like Coale as a 2nd WR. Reminds me of Walter. A very reliable over the middle/3rd down target type guy.

Not familiar with Looney, but can't hate on an OL pick.

Not familiar with Thompson either.

All in all, not a fan of taking Robinson in the 2nd because of his bust potential, but the other picks more than make up for a risky selection. If Robinson reaches his potential that's an awesome draft.

I can understand why y'all dont like the Robinson pick. ( high pick, Harris/Carmicheal) But the guy isn't just a workout warrior. The Texans will be lucky if he falls to them in the 2nd rd.

Robinson is BPA and is at a position of need. This guy is really good.

Just dont let him return punts. He makes Jacoby look sure handed. LOL

Coale is faster and a much better/well rounded athlete than Walter. He reminds me of Lance Moore, a smart well rounded WR that knows how to get open. Simply put he's just a football player.

Thanks for the replies.

I have a real hard time grading Randel, he didn't have a combine that made you stand up & notice. Then his game tape is nothing special either. LSU produces great secondary talent but not WR's? I'm not even going to point a finger at him because I feel it's more a combination of things. Academics, coaching, scheme & leadership. Not exactly the perfect environment to reach based on potential. I want to sign off on this pick but I just can't.

You know who Josh Robinson reminds me a little of? A mix of Bob Sanders & Glover Quin. Stocky, short arms, stout in run support & closes like a bullet. Natural position should be SS.

Martin would be an excellent fit. Really like this pick, bit of over achiever which fits group inside.

Think Jake will be long gone by end of 4th. Excellent length, technique to fill DE in a 3-4. Wouldn't mind him in third if Martin is not there?

Wylie or Coale would be solid value picks in 5th.

Don't know much about Looney, always up for OG/C prospects.

7th rd who cares, after last year there were some solid players who went undrafte. Texan's got lazy & stayed @ home.

I get what you're saying about Randle. But if he didn't have the questions that you are describing he wouldn't be there at 26

Robinson is the fastest CB in this draft and 31.5 in. arms are not short. Nobody really beat him last yr. If Robinson went to LSU or Alabama he would be a 1st rd pick. IMHO

He has the same kind of talent as Mattheau. Who will be a 1st rd pick.

Agree with you on Bequette. He's a hard nosed guy, who will probably be a better pro than he was as a college player.

I have to agree with the bold .... The question is are they willing to spend a #2 on the CB position when its pretty solid now when there are holes to fill at WR , the depth in the interior OL and at OLB should MW walk and believe it or not at TE should they lose Dreessen .... Graham has shown us nothing.

I think both Randle and Jeffery are both fringe first round guy's .... and pickingat #26 neither is a reach. I'd prefer Jeffery but wouldnt complain if Randle were the pick.

As far as WR goes later in the draft .... Remember the name DeVier Posey from Ohio St.

Posey is a under achiever representing program oddly enough in down times. No thanks.
