Ted Ginn Jr.?

Is Ted Ginn Jr. a option to replace Jacoby?
Ginn is a good returner both KO & PR now his WR stats arent impressive but that is a real conservative offense in SF.His MIA stats were better but he really has never had a decent QB. He can stretch the field.Just thinking with the Texans lack of cap room Ginn may be a cheap option as a 3rd or 4th WR. With his speed and agility Kubiak could create some nice mismatches maybe in the slot.

Getting Ginn and a top WR in the draft would shore up the weakness at the position that's for sure.

If I recall correctly there were rumblings that the Texans were looking at him with their 1st round pick, but Miami snatched him up first.

I don't care who they get or who they bring back as long as they have talent. Just please give these guys some defined roles. The team operates better like that.

I want a guy that specializes in the slot...A guy that is good at working on the outside. No more of this mix bag of tricks stuff...

Decent kick/punt returners are easy to find in the draft. Spend a 4th/5th on Maze from Bama and you got that position locked for the next 4 years. He has a lot more potential as a #3/4 WR than Ginn does. He can also be a gunner on special teams and will cost a lot less.

Average receiver. Elite PR/KR. Probably the best in the NFL behind Patrick Peterson and Hester. ST and field position are huge for the 49ers formula for success, so it is really tough to imagine SF not retaining him.

I'm more interested in Harry Douglas, Jerome Simpson, and Eddie Royal. If I'm going to target a return man specifically I'd want Eric Weems

Yes I saw that earlier thanks.

Harry Douglas is not a bad player. Neither is Simpson, y'know, if he wasn't going to jail. Denver just stopped using Royal, so I have no idea on him

Royal looked pretty good with Cutler throwing to him didn't he? Seem to remember some good stats when he came out as a rookie although I could be wrong.

Anyway, an in-form Schaub is better than Cutler imo so could he be a good find on the cheap?

Ted Ginn Jr. Does not become a FA until 2013. However the niners have the option to void his contract this year. I doubt they will though. He is one of our best KR/PR The only way I see Ginn, not in a niner uniform for the 2012 season should someone offer a top 15 draft pick for him..
