Baylor-Texas Tech...the first half was CRAZY!

GP

Go Texans!
Anybody else watch it? It was on FoxSports Houston channel.

Here's a curious event that transpired tonight: The Tech QB named Karam, he's normally #3 jersey number. There was a play where Tech ran a reverse, and then the Tech WR who wore #85 is faking like he's running with the reverse...but then he pulls up and fires a laser shot straight to a WR wayyyyy down the field and it scores a TD for Tech.

#85 was KARAM. Apparently, during warm-ups prior to the game...his jersey number on the back, #3, was ripping loose. So prior to the game, the teams return to the locker rooms. Karam switches jerseys from #3 to #85. Then, WHAMMO! during the game the Bears defense was not as aware that a QB was in the game as a WR for Tech as they would have been if they had seen #3 out there instead.

At halftime, the two TV analysts showed that Karam came out of the locker room and was walking with the team through the stadium tunnels--As the whole team is heading out for WARM-UPS--and the dude's jersey number, on the back, the #3 itself is already ripped wayyyy off on the upper right hand corner.

IMO, they did this on purpose. They cheated. They had that play drawn up, to use in the game, and they set it up by having him come out for pre-game warm-ups as #3...then they planned all along to have him go back into the locker room and change to #85. I'm sure there's a rule that states you can do this, but it still stinks to high heaven.

I used to love to root for Tech, but now I can't stand them. They're freaking 5-7 overall and like 2-7 in the Big 12. And they thought firing Leach was a great idea! Adam James, that little POS, coughed up the ball and gave it to the Bears...which made my night, btw.

BTW, Baylor's RB named Ganaway...this was my first time to watch him.

He runs a lot like Ben Tate--Good vision, hip wiggle, straight-line BURST when he makes his decision on what running lane to hit. Very decisive, lowers his shoulder when he wants to, makes people miss.

Is he draft eligible, or is a Freshman or Sophomore?

Kendall Wright is no joke, either. But he looks smaller than Blackmon of Oklahoma State...which I think limits him a bit.

Letting Leach go was a HUGE mistake, obviously. I'm actually surprised no one else has given him a shot though.

I don't believe in judging a college coach until at least three full seasons have passed, but good LORD--"train wreck" is too mild to describe the last five games. Tuberville obviously has the talent there or we wouldn't have beaten Oklahoma, so what on Earth happened?

Thank God the Texans are finally doing well; I don't know where my head would be at right now if it weren't for them.

Ganaway should be a senior. He played at UH a a freshman then ducked out with Benedict Briles when he went to Baylor.

You're probably not going to get much of a chance with a Division 1 college if you SUE your previous employer like Leach did.

I think if he had not pursued litigation against Tech, he would have been hired by now.

As it stands, he enjoys going around signing his book Swing Your Sword and doing guest speaker events. I'm thinking he's surfing around the country, making a few bucks, and trying to hopefully catch on with a D-1 team after things have cooled down a bit.

The biggest mistake was him NOT cutting Adam james altogether. I think the Adam and Craig James deal made Leach do a lot of dumb stuff. He sorta' lost his head that last year at Tech. Craig James convinced Tech that Leach was bad mojo for them, and I have no respect for the guy nor for his disrespectful son who thought he was above everyone else that year.

Imagine if Leach was the UH Cougars coach. Can you imagine the amount of talent he could recruit in the Houston-Dallas-San Antonio area? He could really rake it in, IMO.

If you have a facebook account, you can follow him. Not much to see, other than him posting when and where he'll be signing his book at various bookstores around the country.

The support he gets on facebook is amazing. The first day he got himself an account, he had thousands of people sign up to follow him on there.

If UH wins out and Sumlin takes another HC position, could UH fans get on board with Leach becoming the HC?

Or would y'all just rather promote Kingsbury?

A more likely guy to promote on staff would be Jason Phillips. Kingsbury only has 4 years of coaching experience and one of those years was as a grad asst.

I'm not that familiar with the Coogs program. I do remember Phillips tearing it up with Ware as his QB. Would you rather have Phillips as HC or Leach?

I would say Leach for reasons others have stated above.

The fact that he sued his employer and the debacle with Adam James is the reason he isn't being hired. I wonder if Craig James also has anything to do with why Leach hasn't even been given an interview for open positions. Teams like Maryland, which fired its head coach after he won the ACC Coach of the Year award, could have brought in Leach but chose to go in a different direction which isn't looking like a smart move right now.

Minnesota, New Mexico, Arizona, and soon Arizona State could've hired Leach but they also chose to go in a different direction.

If I'm the AD of a school who's football program is dying for attention or needs to fill seats, I call Leach and hire him ASAP!

I like Ganaway as a FB in the NFL. He reminds me a little bit of Greg Jones from Jacksonville.
