Texans press conference now

That was very anticlimactic lol. Manning sounds great. Especially since he said it was a "no brainer."

Joseph knows his stuff about our roster although he may not be the best public speaker, you know??

I heard an interview on the radio with Joe Mauer from the Twins and he said "You know" or "um" or both in every single sentence he said. It's a horribly rampant problem not only in professional sports (where it's super awful) but in real life. The other thing that makes me want to punch people in the neck is constant use of "like" in a sentence that isn't comparing anything or speaking of an affection for something. You know...like...um...tacos!

That being said...I don't expect them to speak like they're giving the State of the Union. I just want them to keep offenses from scoring.

Feed isnt working for me ..... Grrrrr.

They must be using Vista because the video is stuck "Loading"

Its already finished corrosion.

There wasn't a lot to take from that.

JJo knew his stuff about the Texans DB's, saying there is talent between KJ,GQ, and Jason Allen being a former 1st rounder. Obviously knew the situation he was coming in to.

Manning wasn't as certain on who his team mates were, we'll gloss over that though lol.

Thought it was interesting to see them ask Manning whether he supported the Texans whilst growing up, bet he wasn't used to such tough journalism in Chicago :ahhaha:

Manning also stated that he had hoped to come home to Texas all offseason and that he hadn't been a part of any unnofficial OTA's with DaBearz this offseason.

I would've loved to have heard Jonathan Joseph say, "What do I think about Glover Quin??? He was **** last year".

Nothing moist about it very dry and ho hum you know.

You mean like soooo NOT juicy?
I agree, I mean, nobody from the organization like even ended the press conference properly, you know.
Like they all just got up and walked out on us, you know.
That's like so soio lame, you know! :ahhaha:

I didn't even notice the ums and you knows in the interview. I just noticed the retarded questions the media asked.

I KNOW!!!!!!..........I KNOW, ALREADY!!!!

I don't know if I've EVER listened to a news conference that gave me nothing but useless dumb questions or useless dumb information from BOTH sides of the microphone. Our media must have been up all night think up their questions. And the two players must have used last year's left over script given to them by their equally dumb agents. It's a shame that this will be the last thing most fans remember until they prove their worth on the field.

Let me say that in no way am I defending the local media types... but I am curious.

What questions would you guys have liked to have answered? I see a lot of complaining about the lack of substance in the presser - and you're right it was terribly underwhelming - but no one has yet posted, "Why the crap didn't they ask so-and-so this...?" and go on to say what they wanted/expected to hear.

I would have liked to hear an answer to, "Have you studied Peyton Manning and how do you intend to stop him from connecting to Reggie Wayne?"
or... "Have you reviewed the Texans' schedule and if so, which team(s) 'worries' you the most and why?"

you know, when we were kids at home doing or english homework, they were out running and lifting weights, you know, and now they are the rich ones, damn.

I think they should have skipped the presser all together. Really served no purpose.

There has been talk about your lack of this or that, can you speak about your perceived weaknesses in that area?

What was THE most important thing you learned while playing with your former team?

What do you know about wade Phillips scheme?

What do you know about the db coach, Vance Joseph?

We are in a division where we face Peyton twice a year, are you prepared for that challenge?

I dunno. . .anything is better than "were you a cowboys fan or texans fan"?

Joseph

(on if there was an offer from his previous team to keep him) “It was a competitive offer but at the end of the day, you have to weigh all the options. You know, what your team has in play. You know the starting quarterback, an all-pro quarterback, Pro Bowlers, best receiver in the NFL, great tight end, leading rusher from last year. Look at the D-line. You’ve got guys on the D-line that are all-pro players, DeMeco Ryans, Bryan Cushing. Just a chance to be an addition to that defense says a lot for me as part of this team. It was a no-brainer for me.”

I liked this statement from Joseph :)

How about questions about the FA process, were the Texans your first pick? How were you approached by Texans, did they mention Asomugha being a sticking point on signing?

X's and O's questions would've been great too, maybe something along the lines of "How do you feel knowing you are going to have to cover Reggie Wayne/Dallas Clark, what do you think you can bring to the table in that area that we don't have? Can you tell us some things you noticed our secondary doing last year that you can help fix? What are those?

"Were you a fan of the Texans or Cowboys" is not anything that anybody should give a rat **** about ever.
