who knows, looks pretty decent. Von Miller is ascending to high to quickly to be legit. wait until the underclassman show up @ the combine. From tape & comments supported by numbers Prince Amukamara could slip out of top 10 easy. do the Texans pass on him? I hope so. Like how you have moved up Mikel Leshoure, he's a banger in the mold of Michael Turner. maybe a little to far down for Ayers, heck Texans might bring him in to workout to see if could slide to OLB? I'm not impressed with Locker as well I think his stock will fall, his accuracy is terrible. Pittsburgh would love to have both the Pounceys.

Great work. I can't help but notice the Patriots getting my two favorite guys: Justin Houston and JJ Watt. Now they're sitting with the 33rd pick and Phil Taylor is there. Ugh I wish we had those picks!!!

If available Von Miller will never make it past Arizona unless he falls for some unknown reason.

Do you think they would take a rising Miller over Fairley, though? Fairley would be the better pick there at #5 imo.

Thanks. New England is a team that picks smart so that 17th pick is a little tricky. I would imagine that either Heyward, Clayborn or Watt will fall to the 28th pick, with Smith & Houston probably gone by that pick. With so many first round caliber 3-4 DE's it wouldn't surprise me if they use their early first rounder on one of the OLB's.

I'm not that sold on Miller but he is rising quite a bit in most peoples eyes. If he slides to Houston I don't know if they would pass on him.

I didn't watch Amukamara too much but he seems to be the consensus #2 CB in the draft. Would you rate Harris higher?

I had Ayers slipping because he would have to move to OLB in the 3-4 defense and there's quite a few 3-4 teams in the area he should be going (Miami, New England, San Diego, Kansas City & Baltimore). Where would you rate him as an OLB? Perhaps the #3 OLB ahead of Smith?

I'm not sold on any of the QB's. I think there could possibly be quite a few teams in need of one that will take a gamble though. Buffalo I see trading back for the QB they covet (Gabbert is the #1 imo). Locker is the fourth QB in this mock, and I'm not sold on him at all. The fact that Seattle could get him to hold a clip board for a year or so behind Hasslebeck or Whitehurst could be beneficial for Locker.

Thanks for the input, beerlover, it's much appreciated.

your welcome. LZ has Ayers rated pretty high, he's attractive to all 32 teams because he can play either scheme (4-3 or 3-4). I don't see him as a dominant pass rusher like Von Miller or Houston however he is much better in pass coverage & run support. Karma still reminds me of Rolle who was moved to FS & seems to fit better there so not such a bad thing for Texans but anyone thinking corner, its buyer beware. there is no Luck for Carolina or other team needing immediate QB help, they're all projects. It's really going to be facinating to see who rises to the top after a year or two in the league, but of course I hope all the teams in front of the Texans who need QB take one

I guess I don't understand all the love Mallet has gotten. He reminds me of Jeff George in a way. Big arm, but has a very big head too. He's a whiney boy to top it off.

I have no love for Mallet. I don't really like any of the QB's in this draft, and from what I've seen of Locker he's got bust written all over him. That's why I had Mallet as the #2 QB in this mock. How would you rate the QB's?

I have them as:

Newton
Gabbert
Locker
Mallett

I wouldn't take any of them in the first round. But I think two get taken for sure, and it's likely that three get taken.

I think Mallett is the most likely to fall into the second round. Character concerns, mobility issues, and some small accuracy issues (tends to overthrow the ball and relies too much on his arm strength) factor into that. But the biggest thing for me is that I've heard in several places that he is dumber than a rock. We won't find out anything solid about that until the interviews at the combine though.

Don't get me wrong, bro. I wasn't ragging on your mock. I just noticed Mallet being mentioned again as a 1st day pick and it triggered a question that I've had for a couple weeks now. As far as QB rankings, I agree with bah. I don't think any are worthy of a 1st rounder. Especially Mallet

Agreed!

I think Newton has a slim chance at getting tabbed in the 1st. However, the circus he's surrounding himself with will likely hurt him more than help. I think he'll fall out of the first unless a team really fell in love with him. Similar to the Broncos and Tebow.

Mallett flashes more than any other QB prospect in this class. then does something bone-headed. High boom or bust factor. He's another player that will be scrutinized @ combine, if he comes through process with flying colors he could be a top 10 pick, if not another green room slider. Speaking of which who do you think the NFL will invite to be featured in "Green Room" :grouphug:

I didn't take it as such, and would rather have people 'ragging' on it if it sucks.

I agree with both of you. Not one is really worthy of being a first rounder, however the need is there for a lot of teams in the draft.

Mallett seems to be more of a pocket-passer as opposed to either Newton or Locker. Their success in the college game was mostly due to them being able to run the ball, which isn't something a lot of QB's have success with in the NFL. If you get Mallett behind a good Oline you could see him become the best QB in this class, which is why he's #2 behind Gabbert in this mock.

I don't know which QB should be invited to the green room. Whoever is invited from the QB class could become the next Brady Quinn having to leave the room while they're in their free fall.
