So who should we draft in the first round next year, secondary or pass rusher?

How about Alex Zendejas from Arizona? That kid was money against Arizona St. the other night. :kubepalm:

Secondary definitely we need safeties and a starting corner. contrary to popular belief I think Khareem Jackson will end up being a serviceable second CB if we get a decent pass defending safety and a good starter at CB (BTW that was not Robinson).

Our pass rush is fine Mario has 8 sacks this year and Barwin will be back next year. As for us not getting near Vick well first off we did and second not many teams can get to vick. WE might not have sacked him very much but when u play a guy like vick it is not like a normal QB I mean we had him several times in the backfield and he escaped... he is the most elusive guy to take the field today ... possibly ever.... so bottom line u draft secondary or trade picks for a proven safety and a corner ... maybe throw slaton into the mix just to get him off the payroll.

Does Ndamukong Suh have a twin brother or can we clone him?
1st pick - DT unless there's a stud FS out there.
2nd pick - FS or DT
3rd pick - OLB who can cover and tackle.

If Ward comes back and Tate is as advertised maybe we can pkg OD and SS for a 2nd day pick.

Lets get a D coach first, then let him grab whatever he wants with the first 2 picks, then one big FA splash.

My biggest want in the draft (and y'all are gonna roast me) is WR. I'm not a college guy, but I think if a big playmaker falls to us in the draft (a la Crabtree or Bryant) we need to pick him up. This would take heat off of AJ and loosen the passing lanes for the TE routes we like to run.

This

It would be nice to get a good number 2 who can stretch the field and move KW into the slot. However, the way things are looking Arizona right now, I say we should see what can do to get Larry in a Hou uni on the other side of AJ.

I wish this misguided notion that any corner can move to S would just go the F away?

It's a different mind set and a different skill set.

Is it misguided? Quin was projected by most scouts as a safety coming into the draft. When we picked him both John Harris and Lance Zierlein expected him to be moved to safety. They (scouts, Harris, and Zierlein) feel that his skills are best fit to safety.

Maybe the notion that any corner can move to safety is misguided (though, I don't think that's necessarily true), but the notion that Quin can/should move to safety certainly isn't.

Give me AJ Green.

But if I have to take a CB or pass rusher I am taking a corner. We need help there in the worst way, and there are about 4-5 first round corners in this years draft.

we already have an AJ :)

how can you have confidence in the Texans selecting CB again in the first rd.:shoot:

Not that I'd be opposed to drafting a really good CB, but I just question the sensibility of throwing rookies at a position where experience is such a large problem.

Is there ANY indication that the mindset has changed regarding DTs? All I've read here about needing a space eating, double team taking tackle goes against the coaches "philosophy". Does anyone see that changing?

Fairly is not the big slug for a 3-4 NT

You must be thinking of a different Nick Fairley. lol

We have to GET TO the QB not just pressure him a little. A lightning quick off the ball DE would make a bigger difference to this team than a ballhawking FS. But we absolutely do have to upgrade our safety position. JMO!
