Say something positive

I'm just now watching the game on replay... it appears the Jets are running at will. However, looking at the game book, it appears we must have stopped their run game at some time.

Shonne Green who is averaging 4.1 ypc this year only got 2.8 yards Sunday. 15 carries, 42 yards.

LT racked up 36 yards on 12 carries. He's averaging 4.5 ypc this year.

They got us for 103 yards yesterday, thanks to Mark Sanchez's 2 carries for 22 yards.
They are the #4 rushing team so far, averaging 145 ypg.

Not a bad day against the run if you think about it.

After 10 games, the NYJets have allowed 17 sacks. They are ranked 7th, in sacks allowed. They are averaging 1.7 sacks per game.

We got 3.

Thanksgiving is in two days. One of the very few days my otherwise dysfunctional family gets together to over-indulge in some Turkey, Duck and all the fixins!!! Although, we don't drink as much as we used to. *sad about that*

After 10 weeks, the NYJets are ranked 13th in sacks, with 21. That's just over 2 sacks per game.

They sacked our QB once.

Get a ball-hawking FS and this team's losing streaks will disintegrate.

Eugene Wilson is not a starter. Make Troy Nolan the starter IMMEDIATELY and decide by season end if Nolan has it. If he isn't it, he'll make a good back-up when Wilson joins the practice squad. Get a real FS!

If I had had my say, we would not have Okoye, but we'd have a ball-hawking FS....and Darrelle Revis would be ours as well...

Actually, I have a lot of positive things to say:

1. With Bentley and Sharpton in there, I like our coverage in the middle better than before (sorry, Demeco.)
2. Our CB situation should improve from now on (once McCain see morstly the bench.)
3. I never thought the Texans would ever be in zero coverage (all-out blitz), even though it burned us on that last play (The fans want this type of aggressiveness, didn't they?)
4. The players didn't give up in these last 3 losts.
5. The defense actually kept us in the game.

Good!
Now you can watch more Texans games! :chickendance: :headhurts:

Hey *snap* :lightbulb: :D

This is the "Say Something Positive Thread"

Since the depressing effort/performance in Indy on MNF, the Texans have
played hard for 3 consecutive weeks even though the results have been disappointing. Compared to some other teams like Minny & Dally I think that's a testimony to the players on this team rallying behind their HC. Of course many are here because of Kubiak and they'll also be gone if he's shown the door.

If the Giants beat the Jags (very possible), the Chargers beat the Colts (very possible) and the Texans beat the Titans (yes, very possible) then the Texans will be 1 game out of 1st with 5 to go.

Now thats positive. Let's make it happen, starting this Sunday.

And then we have the draft to look forward to. Imagine all the uber talent Smithiak is going to draft. First 3 picks all defense, and guess what position with our fourth?

Wooo Hoooo!!!!! More tight ends!!!!

Imagine how grimdark this place would be if we were actually having a terrible year.

Happy Thanksgiving, See there's something positive.

Is it positive if the Texans finish 7-9 and still win the division?

Yes. That either reveals one of two things:
1) The division is tough and all teams are good.
2) The division is weak and all teams equally suck (a la NFC West).

I'd go with #1. Tough to call a division weak with the Colts. Plus, this division had the toughest schedule this season.

It got cold, well, 43 degrees cold here in Austin and cloudy, but after our tropical stretch lately it's cold. Perfect Thanksgiving weather if you ask me. :spin:

This division was there for the taking. Which makes this season's disappointment even more bitter.

Edit: That wasn't very positive. So, go Texans!

Unfortunately my wife wants to,believe it or not.

If it was up to me I would be spend Sunday at home. No more $8 beers Uncle BoB.

I think the Texans are going to win Sunday too.

I think we will see the Texans defense score on an interception return and Special Teams (Jacoby) contribute one kickoff/punt return for a TD this week against the Titans

Ummmmmmmmmm, Thanksgiving with my family was awesome and the fact that A&M is gonna beat the 'Sips............ That's pretty awesome and of course pretty positive.......(as it relates to the thread title)

OH wait, this thread is about the Texans.....

I got nothin'!!!!

To add to this, on the heels of a week schedule in 2009, it's telling me, that we aren't as good as we thought we were.

In 2005, there were players I liked (Babin, Orr, Peek, Wong, Brown, Earl, Wand, Gafney) that I thought were good, & reason I believed we could start winning right away (If Kubiak could get that light to go off in Carr's head).

A new staff come in.... maybe we need to re-evaluate Diles, Okoye, Wilson, Quin, Winston, Brown, Walter, Antonio, Casey...

Looking at what Babin is doing in Tennessee this year, leads me to believe it wasn't a problem with the talent, but a vision for how best to utilize that talent.

This is Kubiak's team, top to bottom. If this group of guys are going to have success on this team, it's going to be with Kubiak leading. Which is why I still have hope for the rest of the season.

I'm not making excuses for Kubiak, but with the way we've played over the last 4 weeks, I'm not too worried about the next 6 games. I still believe we have the talent to win, they've shown us in spurts here & there throughout the season, more spurts more frequently, more consistently over the last 4 weeks.

Through all the injuries & suspensions, & media buzz... they've done a "fine" job of putting together a competitive team. They've dug themselves in a whole to get them to this point, but that's no excuse.

After 5 years, I believe we should be a Super Bowl contender, not a one & done team. My opinions aren't very far from most, I'm just reserving final judgment 'till the end of the season, or we are mathematically eliminated.

jason jones looks like he'll miss the game sunday

in the likely event that the texans beat the titans, the jags lose to the giants & the colts lose to the chargers the texans will only be a game out of first place in the division

the season may not be a dead loss yet

I like where you are going with this Maddict. We have to not only beat the titans but beat them in convincing fashion and I think we are going to do it.
