Gameday Thread: Chiefs @ Texans

Anyone pissed off? Anyone? I know I'm not.

I get pissed off when I expect to be playing better then we are. The level that we are playing at today is about what we all expected. So, I'm with you in that I'm not pissed off.

I am, however, pissed off at the bigger picture in that Kubiak is failing epically.

Seriously, and I may be overstepping my bounds here, its no point in posting from your phone if you're going to be cluttering up the boards with "wat", "r u", "alrdy r" stuff.

Its a message board. Expect text message short hand.

Where did this douche bag officiating crew come from. They are killing the Texans, they are keeping drives alive for KC.

Blown Calls:
Sack on Schaub was a personal foul, hitting the knees of the QB
AJ's near TD, the defender wasn't playing the ball, can you say pass interference
Call on Kareem on the opening drive was BULLSHIT
Call on Ogungleye was BS
That supposed catch on the cheifs final drive are you F-ing serious, also a Texans was blocked in the back on that play because they almost got to Cassel

Oh, and Announcers are idiots. "The Texans were in the neutral zone", really did you see the gaurd flinch that cause Smith to be there. I'm tired of these announcers picking sides.

im still not too worried. the D has been ok for most of the half. i think we play a little better in the second half and escape with a win ala v st louis last yr

Blaming the refs is just lame. The problems are with coaching. I have totally lost faith in Kubiak now.

Eh, I think they're calling an OK game, nothing bad enough to blame them. The sack looked clean, the non-PI call on AJ turned out to be a TD anyways and the CB did look back for the ball, Kareem held the receiver's shoulder, Ogunleye was obviously a late hit. The only bad call was the trapped catch really.

I'm not blaming the refs, but it would be nice if they would send professionals. Besides the Texans are playing decent its hard to overcome like 5 total BULLSHIT calls.

It was a comment, isn't that what a game day board is for??????????

exactly, these refs have been terrible, and they're responsible for the Chiefs scores, yet here's everyone blaming Kubiak and the coaches when there is nothing they could do about bad officiating

I gaurantee if that hit was on Peyton or Brady there would have been ten flags thrown.

You know what? I'm not even worried. Looks like this will be a close game, Texans have more experience in close ones and we should have expected a close game here.

I'll tell you what one of my coaches in school told us. "Good teams play through adversity no matter where it comes from. Including bad officiating."

What I wanna know is they just reviewed the Texans and Chiefs and all they talk about is Cassel but when Schaub's TD throw comes up they are as blunt as possible describing it and half a second after they're like "AND Cassel with a great TD pass right here". These announcers make me sick.

I agree though, the calls the refs have made has all cost the Texans big time. They are blowing it on both sides, what a crappy crew.

That Dunta hit was vicious. He could be in a lot of trouble though because it was a hit to the head of a defenseless receiver.

Then again, none of the Cowboys, Giants or Chiefs will get in trouble for repeated hits to the head of a defenseless Texans team.

The only one of these you're even right about AT ALL was the call on Kareem, and that wasn't blatantly bad. We're getting out-coached.

The Texans go to 3-3, get ready to watch the wheels fall off. They may
not finish 3-13, but the same level of "quit" will be quite apparent.

This game is a "must win."

Will a good team play through adversity if the bad call comes with a minute to go in the 4th quarter? Just a hypothetical here.

What a horrible coach. Sometimes, "good teams" DONT end up winning due to the adversity they face. You can be a good team, a great team, hell, even a championship f'n caliber team, and still lose due to adversity.

I agree for the most part, but Ogunleye wasn't just late, he hit Cassel in the chest with the top of his hat. That's not just a dirty play(spear), it's a stupid one because it's far more likely to cause spinal injury to the defender than hurt the QB.

I guess I just expect us to be past the point of blaming the refs. I'm thinking the main problem now is lack of talent in our coaching staff. Guess we'll see if we can come out and do something in the 2nd half.

Dude nobody wants to watch a bad football team. For real. Announcers, the guys back in the studio, the fans, etc. Nobody likes to watch a team shoot themselves in the foot and do dumb ****. People would rather root for the team that is helping themselves, not hurting themselves. Period.

Chiefs look like a well-oiled machine compared to the Texans, clearly out coached up to this point but have to wait & see what if any second half adjustments are made...

We went to the state semis with that "bad coach" that year.

I see what you're saying but let's see if the Texans play beautifully this quarter if the announcers will stop brown nosing the Chiefs and their coaching staff every down.

Hope the Texans give us the opportunity to find out. Stop blaming
spectators for complaining how bad **** stinks.

This.

I'm sitting there thinking the exact same thing while, playing at home and mid-season, coming off a home loss that should've been the biggest kick in the backside in team history, we come out with 10 guys on a punt and the sideline looks like nobody's really even upset about it.

A little later we see the allegedly explosive offense essentially quit after a FIRST DOWN sack. Look, I've been a defender of Kubiak because I believed stability would pay off, and it has. But as I see other turnaround teams (like KC) pull their own acts together, I'm really starting to think that he's not the guy that'll get the team to the next level.

I wonder if Kubiak scripts the first 12 plays also when coming out of the half

:choke:

(btw I am joking)
