Steve Slaton Pvt Autograph Signing

Element1337

Waterboy
I'm in the process of agreeing on a date with Steve, but we're not accepting items as of yet.

When he was in the fifth grade his sister died of leukemia. I've arranged for all proceeds of this signing to go to Steve to support the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. That means Steve is doing this without profit, but for a cause he supports.

Pricing:
$25 per item
$10 inscription

I can supply the following:
8x10's - $5
11x14's - $10
16x20's - $20
Texans mini's - $23

SASE's required

The signing would likely take place somewhere between July 11-14th during his football camp as he is very busy during this time of the off season, that's why I am not taking items yet. But please post interest and the items you're looking at sending.

For those interested, Steve is also hosting a cruise out of Orlando to the Bahamas to raise money for the hospital and cancer research in late July. You can find out more info here http://www.wvillustrated.com/wvufootball/topstory/id/867

wow this is pretty cool. I didn't have a clue that he did any chariable work. Good luck on this!!

Thanks, I initially was shooting for 100 items. But now I think I'll be lucky for 50, so Texans fan let me know if you want an item signed by Steve.

Go ahead and send me a PM with your email address and I'll send an email when I start accepting items.

SASE is indeed Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope, which means you can go to the counter or automated machine at the post office and have them give you the appropriate stamps to put on return packaging which you will include when sending your item.

Hopefully Texans Talk can produce 10-20+ items.

For $30, I'll have an 8x10 of Slaton autographed from our signing delivered to your door. I'm hoping to draw more interest that way and to make it easier for everyone. I can accept paypal, check, money order, as well as meeting locally. All proceeds will benefit the hospital which Steve supports.

C'mon Texans fans lets get some interest

Part of your problem may be that you have less than 50 posts and are asking people to send you checks in the mail.

Folks may feel more comfortable if you had a way to show this is a legit thing other than saying it is.

Most folks on here buy and sell things because most of us have known each other (as in in person) for years and I know if so and so says he or she will do something, I know they will :)

?? IMHO ??

Post count doesn't equate to trustworthiness. Maybe the guy I sold a signed jersey to can give me rep?

I live in North Houston and I can supply my cell for those interested on the fence. Once we get a date set I can probably have Steve send out a twitter message about it. I'm not sure what all I can do, other than start somewhere.

Yep, I'll give you rep for the jersey. Got what you represented and in a timely fashion.

Not judging you one way or the other, but you may get more bites on your deal if you could get Slaton's people to tweet or put on their website, or something :)

This is my concern too. I don't have a problem with getting a couple of items done, especially when it's for charity, but I just want to make sure that I'll actually receive something in return and that it's a legitimate autograph.

Cj, I can tell you that I purchased the Brian Cushing Jersey from Element and got it within 10 days, maybe a week? It was just as advertised and I have no complaints. That said, how would you authenticate a sig?

There are third party authenticators like PSA/DNA and JSA, the others aren't very good. Also some athletes have their own holograms. If you plan on keeping your autographs and got it in person or feel confident, then authentication stickers are really useless. They're better for resale value and questionable items, and you've got to keep in mind they're humans too and make mistakes when deeming items authentic and unauthentic.

For a signing with Steve, I would be taking pictures of him during the process as well as pics with him. I'm going to talk to his marketing guy tomorrow and then hopefully I'll have Steve put up a tweet about it.

Thanks
