NFL Draft 2010: Day 3

Anyone questioning this pick needs to check their cynicism at the door because getting a little guy with ELITE speed at this stage in the draft could be a brilliant move. Trindon Holliday could make an immediate impact on this team in the KR game.

and punt return game I think. Plus he can be a gunner on special teams.

Mike Mayock, NFL Network
197 -- Texans -- KR Trindon Holliday

Holliday is really an interesting pick for the Texans. He's one of the smallest players in college football, but arguably the fastest. His primary use will be on special teams as a return man. But, over time, he could develop into a slot receiver and someone you try and get the ball to on reverses and bubble screens. He's a play-maker in space.

only pick hes covered in ages. pro texans conspiracy!

We have 1 FB on the roster... TEs = FBs on this team. So, not only do the TEs tend to be very envolved in special teams play, they also account for two positions on the offensive field. With Anthony Hill's injury, OD's contract situation, they are going to take some of these guys... If he was a highly rated FB, would you be okay with it? That's essentially what we just took.

I'm not against the pick as much as I'm worried that it could mean they aren't looking at keeping OD around long term. It might be the smart NFL move, but I like OD and would hate to see him somewhere else.

I think he is cut now. He gave very little value as a KR. This move allows JJ to focus on just being a WR. Good pick.

This would be the perfect year to cut people like that. No cap means the hits don't hurt. Well, they might hurt McNair's pocket a little.

Myron Rolle gone.

AJ can eat that nerds lunch anyway.

Every time I switch back to NFLN from ESPN they keep showing those horrible Golden Coral commercials. I swear to Sunny Jesus that in the span of 10 minutes I saw their lame commercial 4 times!

Snead should have waited another year and is more than likely going to be a undrafted

I want to see Jeff Owens here in the 7th. Strong NT type, but has the same size as the other Texans DTs. I could see a QB here as well. Hell, this last round (Smith and Holliday) energized me a bit. Smith can be a real nasty player in the trenches, something this team needs. I could see him getting decent playing time by the second half of the season. Holliday is a little speed demon who will allow us to jettison Davis. And give him 5-10 plays on offense, and watch the D squirm.

Reverses, fake reverses, screens, draws..... if nothing out his speed will be a great misdirection tool because you have to respect it.

Jeff Owens would be nice, but I have a feeling he isn't a Smithiak player
